  1. Hi all, I'm a newbie (obviously). Just awaiting insurance approval and will schedule for sleeve surgery as soon as possible afterwards. I know this is incredibly impossible to answer, as results vary depending on myriad factors such as metabolism, diet, age, gender, etc... But, I suppose I'm asking if all efforts are made textbook style (diet-wise), and no other health concerns were present (pre-menopause, no medications, etc), how long would it take on average to lose 100-120 lbs after surgery? I know that it will eventually come off, but I'd like to take a poll of sorts. Please post your results 5'8 41 female weigh 265 size 18-22 depending on maker goal 145-150 goal size (totally unknown) Thanks for playing!!!
  2. I asked my insurance (United HC) for the "approvals department" right when I got the first customer service person.
  3. I'm with you! My insurance got my paperwork just today (my coord. sent it on Friday) and so I'm waiting now for the insurance to approve/deny it. Anywhere between 1-15 bus days. I'll be calling every few days alright!
  4. Is your insurance requiring it or is your medical group? Sometimes we don't realize it's the dr. not the insurance. If Dr., you could see someone else!
  5. Well I couldn't help myself! I called and made sure they got the request for preapproval from my Dr. and yep they got it today! So officially, I should know the answer within 7-10 business days... I'M DYING HERE!
  6. Hi! My Dr. has just submitted my paperwork to the insurance co. for approval, so the waiting game begins. I'm decided on the sleeve and am hoping to get it done prior to 2014. We have some insurance plan changes at the new year, so I want it NOW! Anyways, I'm in So. Cal., and am a single mom of two kiddos. I hope to lose 120 lbs, but I'd be reasonably happy with 100. I need to get to a weight so I can resume an active life again> at my current weight I'm so embarrassed to participate that I just sit on the sidelines. I'm ready to start putting myself first. My Dr. group is Dr. LePort in Fountain Valley, and they come highly recommended. There are 4 or 5 surgeons in his practice, so I'm not sure exactly who I'll have in the end...
  7. I created a new FB account (LISSA VSG) for all my vsg friends, groups, posts, pics, journey. I'm not going to share with my other FB peeps either!
  8. Oh no!!! Anything else they can do? Possibly self pay in MX?
  9. Wow that's FAST!!! I'd better get my co-pay together!
  10. I just got the call that my paperwork was submitted to insurance today!!! The waiting game begins... My coordinator says that they usually wait 7 business days before they follow up with insurance so I'm on pins and needles. That will be Nov. 1st. You can bet though, that I'll be calling my insurance on Monday just to make sure they got it! I'm not patient!!! I'm really hoping to be a member of the Nov. club, but I'm thinking I'll likely be a Dec or Jan sleever...

  13. So when you go to Mexico for plastics, do you have to pay up front or do they finance?
  14. Does Soups and all too! Sent from my iPad using VST
  15. That's it! I'm going to be much happier when I turn 43 than 42 in Jan... I'm just ready... I'm mostly worried about thinning hair. I'll take biotin, but really don't want to have it thin for life... Does it grow back?
  16. I'm 41, will be 42 in Jan. and READY to change my life for good! I'm divorced 4 years now, and I'm ready to start living again... I have 100-120 lbs to lose to goal, and I'm thinking about a TT and possible breast lift afterwards. I'm ready!!!!
  17. I worry about getting in enough nutrients and fiber, so I'm getting a Blendtec to help with that. I can easily have a green smoothie on the daily and feel good about it.
  18. Completely amazed by the Blendtec! Saw it at costco this weekend> SO saving for one for my xmas gift to self!

  20. Don't forget many vegetables have protein! You can add some silk tofu into a veggie soup for a Protein and fiber rich soup if you don't want animal protein in every meal. Cancer reducing veggies are great for skin too! Eat the rainbow! http://www.fitday.com/fitness-articles/nutrition/healthy-eating/7-high-protein-vegetables-to-include-in-your-diet.html#b
