    HAIR!

I was sleeved in November and still losing hair, for 3 months. I have very fine, thin hair and I would be lost without my wig. I am afraid to use extensions because I feel they would pull more hair out so a wig was the only choice, except for visors. Now I look bald with a visor on. I have taken Biotin since before surgery. Worthless. I take lots of good Vitamins. Just unlucky I guess. Good luck!

    Arthritis and no NSAIDs

I wasn't told for the rest of my life, but I figure it's best practice for me to avoid them for the most part. I was told to stay off them during the first few months while my sleeve was healing, and use only sparingly in the future and after consulting with my surgeon to make sure it's the best choice for me. Aside from the tennis elbow issue, I haven't really had a need, that being said, I've never had arthritis. It's funny, I actually used to get headaches a lot before my surgery, and I've had a total of one headache since my surgery six weeks ago. Speaking of headaches, I used to live on Excedrin. Since the sleeve, I have had no headaches.
  3. I have been angry at times since my sleeve (not usual for me), and more emotional, overwhelmingly so at times. Please share your feelings with someone you can rely on for help. Be more specific with your husband that you need help! Please call your doctor and insist on being seen immediately. You just need a little help right now. Surgery takes a toll on our body and our selves. Please feel free to share and look to us for support!

Wow, and we were told no NSAIDs for the rest of our lives! Craziness.

    just a lot of grief

I am so very sorry for all this heartache you have suffered. Please find the friend you think you chased away......Your friend has not run far I am sure. I have suffered much tragedy and loss in my life, and there is nothing worse then losing our precious loved ones. It is the most profound pain in the world, as we try to deal with it. God Bless and God's Grace as you carry on. That is what we have to do. Be strong and carry on. You will do it. Just take care of yourself. Linda

For those who didn't tell anyone - betrayed

My 26 y/o only grandson asked me about my surgery. I was blown away that my daughter would tell him as I specifically asked her not to. Her response was "I was worried about you Mom". How can I hold a grudge? I can't. Life is short. We are all human and make mistakes. But it hurts when you specifically ask someone not to tell. If family members do it LOL, then we who like our privacy really know everyone else will tell because they are "concerned" about us. Gotta laugh my friends!

    Arthritis and no NSAIDs

Just a thought for you. I developed extreme gout in both big toe joints after being sleeved and endured months of pain that would not let up. Most all I could do was sit with ice on my toe and was using a cane to walk. The gout meds (NSAIDS) I was told, would "eat" my sleeve. Scary stuff. I had to take them anyway and got deathly ill from the drugs. I lucked up and on May 8 I went to a compound pharmacist I have known for years, who believes in herbal remedies, who put me on a regimen of Curamin, Tart Cherry & Celery capsules, Milk Thistle, Omega 3 (plus 2 weeks of veggies, fruit & nuts). Tumeric sprinkled on my food, and lots of fresh celery. Within 2 days the gout went away. Two and a half months now I am still pain free. I would urge you to research some herbal remedies. I am a Believer! Good luck!

    unkind drs

I had arthroscopic knee surgery in 2007. One visit post op (2 weeks) the surgeon told me I was fine, no need to come back. I was stunned and said "but I am still having so many problems with it". He smirked and said "well maybe you should lose some weight or retire". By the time I got home I was raging with my anger. I immediately made an appointment to return to his office and see him and he looked surprised to see me. LOL. I told him I was highly offended at what he said to me that day and came back just to tell him that. I told him I damaged my knee when I fell on it due to a malfunctioning elevator, not my weight or my job. He sputtered a semi apology about doctors not having a bedside manner. Needless to say when I had to have a total knee replacement 3 years later HE was not the surgeon I chose. Jackass! When I was 30, I would have just cried. Old age has great benefits, I am not intimidated anymore.

    Help plz

My husband soothed himself with low sodium boullion when he thought he might be hungry, or a SF popsicle. I found that distracting myself keeping busy worked for me. If you are just sitting around watching television, old habits like wanting to munch might be creeping up on you. I cleaned drawers and closets like crazy.
  10. He is probably sweating at the thought of loss of income and is speechless.
  11. One thing I would like to add. I do not hang out with criminals in the US or anywhere else. I want to know who I am dealing with is not a gigolo or criminal. A one night stand might be fun. But know who you are sleeping with. I can google and research anyone in the US, but Mexico, haha!. All these women go to Mexico, have no idea they are hanging with a felon/criminal/unknown but for sure has a criminal history but suave front man for the doctor who wines and dines them and keeps his employer happy with rave reviews.

    Why hide it?

Actually LipstickLady I should have added what an awesome WOMAN you are because I really am in awe of your accomplishments, but you rock me out the way you always so eloquently put things! I always think why didn't I think of that! Anyway, great post.

    Why hide it?

In my case, my husband made the decision he did not want me discussing his (which means "our") surgery because we were both sleeved. He is like this about his finances and everything else. I respect his wishes and I realize now, 8 months later, that I like my privacy about the surgery. For instance, we go to a neighborhood club for dining and dancing, and our neighbors gush on and on, telling everyone about our weight loss. I am soooooo tired of this. Imagine if they knew we had surgery.
  15. There is a finding checked by the federal court judge in his order concerning Omar which states "the defendant has a significant prior criminal record." These documents are public record. In the US, we are lucky to have diligent employers who do background checks.
  16. I would take great pause in going to a surgeon that employs a known felon. Reminds me of the felony judge I worked for and knew 40 years. His court clerk was caught in our jury room naked and engaged. No second chance. OUT OF HERE and never come back. Was not a felon. Dammit, there is still common sense and decency in this world.
  17. I agree. An employer is responsible for whom he employs, and in MX maybe there is no accountability. I will not try to save $ by going to MX, I would rather eat grass.
  18. Susan, can you take this to a private forum for discussion? I am nauseated by stupidity. The same thing can be accomplished by weeding out the Jim Jones Koolaid mentality/Omar love groupies.
  19. Where there is this much smoke there is a forest fire. Relax and wait. Make sure you are safe. Make sure you make the right decision. Read and be informed.
  20. New What the hell does it matter if he has a tattoo or a wife? Good grief. Madame Reverie is on target here like no one else. Newbies are obvious plants.
  21. And all of a sudden you newbies appear and seem to know more than I know in many many months here? I just worry about a predator with God know what STDs who preys on vulnerable women who go to MX to save a few bucks. The ranters for Omar are either related to him, involved with him, or have something to gain.

    Protein shakes and Torani syrups

In the South, Torani SF syrups are in the grocery store in the coffee section, and World Market. Also, Crystal Light powder adds great flavor to the Protein shakes. I have also bought different flavors at Amazon. How blessed we all are for all the great info here.

    Blood pressure....

Stress raises the BP. Relax if you can and just see the doc. My husband and I both came off one BP med after the sleeve (each were on 3). There was a time my BP was 200/100 and I was terrified. Keep us posted. Please.

    My 11th Year Surgiversary!

You darn hero you! Congratulations. I would be lost were it not for you and your efforts. My husband's life depended on surgery or I would lose him. I have never been so scared. Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    Always eating

I really miss the convenience of the Premier Protein shakes, but was told to stop shakes, back off protein. Then I developed gout in my toes. Protein isn't good for gout. hair has fallen out like crazy. Honestly we are all so different with different rules and regulations. We have to find our niche.
