    Omeprazole?

Honestly I am so thankful for help also, from before surgery until 8 months later. I appreciate the advice I can get quickly!

    Newby here!

My advice would be to read as many posts as you can. You will learn that many people are doing things differently because every surgeon requires something different. It is mind boggling sometimes. Be prepared for probable hair loss. You can research stalls, hair loss, and anything else here that you read about, since there are thousands of previous posts. Welcome here, you will learn that Bariatric Pal will be your new best friend! Best wishes!

    Omeprazole?

We were told to put capsule contents in applesauce, but I also sprinkle the beads in a teaspoon of yogurt.

    diabetics

We were told once you are diabetic you will always be a diabetic. That diagnosis is what made me go for the sleeve. My husband is a 30 year Diabetic Type 2. We both came off Metformin at surgery. He is on a small dose of insulin a day. Thank God in 8 months no more calling rescue to revive him in the middle of the night. No more eating huge amounts of fruit to keep his blood sugar up during the night. Please stay off the carbs and sugar, because in 8 months he has lost 100 lbs and is fabulous! I wish everyone good luck and success with weight loss, to become healthier and combat the effects of diabetes on our bodies.

6 months out and HICUPS.... anyone? LOL

We are into 8 months of hiccuping which signal time to stop eating. Love the reminder!

    Medication adjustments

Please call your doctor Kim for advice on the meds. We are not medical professionals. My husband suffered low BP following the sleeve, but it was a short period of time. Over all, our bodies are adjusting to a lot of things. We have BP issues, and diabetes, and everyone here has a lost of issues that weight causes, usually. If your surgeon is not responsive to your needs please see your PCP. Our PCP is always available, not the surgeon! Best of luck, Linda
  8. I don't think you are supposed to be picking up anything BDM. Please be careful with this. 10-15 lbs. might hurt you. Not sure of the time frame after surgery but seems like about 6 weeks. As far as the tiredness it could be the heat, or a number of things. I felt like the weight of the world was off my shoulders within 2-3 days and had more energy than I do now, 8 months out, but I am getting ready to plan some exercise. Best of luck to you.

    Calling All Sixties!

8 months post op and I realize I have slacked off my best advice, and that is to eat before I leave home. Gained about 6 lbs. Doing a lot of traveling these days (yahoooooo!!!! what a change!), and I have been more inclined to eat something I would not have touched 2 months ago, like a jalapeno popper. My husband seems to be less hungry than me. I am going to go back to MyFitnessPal. Thanks everyone! Good luck!

    Calling All Sixties!

Problem is at 3 months my NUT said I was eating too much protein. All I did was add salads to my menu.
  11. As I just returned from a family reunion, I realized I took pictures of everyone there, and have not a single one of myself, as usual. The difference is I look great (old but great)!! I am going to make a concerted effort to change my behaviour and get in the pictures and I hope you do the same. I am so used to running away from being photographed, but I want to remind everyone to get yourselves in front of the camera and be proud of who you are today and how you got there. It wasn't easy, the decision, the preop, the surgery, the nervousness, and the postop.

I Ought To Be in Pictures!

Please use this reminder to get in the pictures and get on with life friends! I am thankful I just realized I need to get IN the pictures too, thus my post. I am 68 in August and I am ready, LOL, wrinkles and all.
  13. Stay tuned folks! When I have read and savored this book I intend to PAY IT FORWARD and share it with someone else who swears to me they will pay it forward and share. We are all in this together.

Hi ABJ. Glad you joined up. We are never too old to have fun and love life are we?! I will be 68 next month and I am counting my blessings. I too have wigs. Thank goodness.

    Prayers and Good vibes pleeaassee

It took years to get where we are. Relax and before you know it this will be over. We all went through these little frustrations, and pretty soon you will be trying to figure out what to eat and drink when you are sleeved. The best is definitely yet to be!!! Get busy doing yardwork, cleaning closets, or anything to keep your mind occupied!!!!

    Feeling unsure

We have never measured a thing per our surgeon and are doing perfectly fine. I would not let this worry you. We drink all the time, so long as we are awake.

It doesn't really matter, just set a weight you desire to be. Many people surpass that. Dream come true!

Kntz, your story is everyones' story. A few details might change but we are all the same. We were sleeved 11/18 and 12/2. and I am down 60 lbs, my husband 100 lbs. We would do it again in a heartbeat!!! We feel like we are entirely new people today compared to last year. I personally, at 67 years old, felt I was done for, there was no living, just sitting in misery. Now I am doing yard work, dressing beautifully in my new wardrobe, and just came back from a 7 day cruise, a trip from Florida to KS and another trip to WV. Headed to New Orleans in a month. I am pinching myself. Loving life. You are in the right place, rest assured. Linda

    constipation! !

Feel better! My niece had a gastric bypass 15 years ago and was told recently to take some Metamucil or something similar every day, in Water. I am not that desperate yet but no matter what anyone says when I am hurting and feeling misery I will take that little pink pill. My husband too. Except we buy the Publix brand at the grocery store.
  22. LindafromFlorida

    What am I doing wrong?

Please focus on yourself and your eating. We are all different. Don't worry about others. We all end up on the loser's bench. Focus, eat right, follow your plan = success.

    constipation! !

It will be until you get on veggies. I tried every suggestion including awful prune juice. Nothing worked except the little pink pills for women, Correctol. I have bottles of everything on hand, worthless. Salads seemed to make the biggest difference at 3 months. We still have problems when traveling, but I make sure to eat a salad a day. Good luck, it will get better but I feel it will always be a minor problem from here on out.
