November buddies where are you?
Hang in there Felicia! Those first two days are tough. Every day gets better. Take the meds if you are in pain. They will make it bearable to walk and sleep. Both are needed to heal... Wishing you a speedy recovery and a tolerable pain level.

All You Experts: How Long Before That Nasty Main Stitch Releases?
I'm happy to report that mine still hurts but is much more tolerable. I can get up and down with ease now. I am healing well but not losing any weight. How can that be possible?! I'm still on liquids and have added cream o' soup and a tiny bit of cream of wheat. Crazy...

This process is not for the faint of heart! It takes forever and requires extreme diligence and advocacy for yourself. Hang in there. It will happen!

Surgery A Success!
Glad surgery went well! I was sleeved a week ago and still feel a bit swollen. I have an abdominal binder and that helps hold my sutures in place. Helps with pain. Best of luck in your healing process.

All You Experts: How Long Before That Nasty Main Stitch Releases?
One week out today and my only complaint is I can't get up from a deep seat by myself without that main incision yelling at me. And thrush... That doesn't hurt but looks gnarly and feels like a cotton blanket on my tongue... All you experts, how long before that thing gives up and releases?

November buddies where are you?
Skinny scarlet- I read your post, I feel very similar to you. The mouth thing really bothered me and it turned out to be thrush. Gross. It's a yeast infection in your mouth from all the antibiotics they pump into us during surgery. Call your dr and see if you need a special mouth rinse. That yucky mouth is nasty! Good luck in the healing process!

Jen- You have to walk. And walk. And walk some more. Instant gratification. It hurts to get up but once you start walking you feel better. I promise!

My Surgery Is Tomorrow!
Wishing all of you an uneventful and successful surgery! One week ago I was sleeved. You will all be fine. Walk and sip is your new mantra.

So glad you are ok. Glad you sought medical help. Take care of yourself.

Gas Pains
Sugar free candies? That's most likely your culprit! The malitol is a serious gas and runs' producer for many. Like everything, start small and test your reaction.

Ladies And Gents
You can do it! Those first days make you crazy but it does get easier! I'm six days post and thinking back, the pre-op seemed worse to me. Hang in there!

Alcohol
NSAIDS are banned for me too. Unless a rare occasion and even then, closely supervised. They can cause bleeding ulcers. I personally know two people who had that problem. I was given a list of drugs that fell into that category and told to avoid. I was prescribed lortab liquid for post op. 15 mil worked quite well for me. That said, I'd ask your surgeon.
