    so embarrassing!

Oh mercy!!!! NEVER trust a fart!! and if you become constipated and have to take fiber - still, NEVER trust a fart..panty liners are a good idea and a change of clothes...Your stools will harden up and then you will be wishing for these little slip ups...Don't stress over this...You aren't the first, nor will you be the last that this will happen to...
  2. It took me about 5 weeks to feel like myself again...I was incredibly tired...NO Energy at all...Take it easy and listen to your body..I took two weeks off work...Hang in there...It will get better!
  3. Congrats!!! That is awesome!! I crossed my legs last week for the first time in years!!! We celebrate what some would think are the "small stuff" but to us, it is huge!!!

    Feeling Light headed

It could be inner ear problems also..The weather here in Alabama has been crazy and many folks are sick from it...We can't forget that other things than our sleeve will/can make us sick...Hope you feel better soon!!
  5. Congrats!!!! Now you need to give advice on how to handle stalls!!!! You look great!!!

Yeah!! Progress!!! Gut sounds are going to be the norm from now on...They get really loud at times...Hang in there!!! You got it whopped now!!
  7. A healthier me! Six weeks out and have already stopped 4 medications..Was able to cross my legs two days ago (shocked me and I almost cried)..To be able to run and play with my grandson this summer...To walk up stairs without panting and to not hurt all over!!

    Caffeine?

I have two cups of coffee every morning and use Crystal Lite with Caffeine ..I need a little boost...As long as you are used to it or over do it then there shouldn't be a problem...Now I did cut my coffee drinking down...It was nothing for me to drink a whole pot in the morning before work and then another couple of cups at work...That is no more! Just one or two cups in the morning and then I never finish a cup off either.
  9. Hang in there! It will get better! I felt the same way. I was so used to drinking water that I missed gulping it and I wanted steak so bad that I tried it too early.. I paid dearly for that mistake - intense pain to the point I thought I was dying!! Please work on getting your water in - that is a must! Take Gas-X if you feel like you are going to burp or slime it back up. If the nausea is getting worse, your doctor can prescribe suppositories to help with that. Don't get dehydrated! Don't be scared or hesitant to contact your doctor! They don't know you are having issues unless you tell them. Hope you feel better soon!!!
  10. Experienced sliming, dumping and throwing up!!! Don't like none of them. I know that I am sleeved tight, meaning that I am six weeks out and still can't eat very much. An example is that I was only able to eat six small shrimp for supper. Nothing with it, just the six shrimp. The sliming and dumping was due to me trying to eat something that was very spicy! I have found that is a no-no for me. Also, certain foods no longer appeal to me or they have a different taste than before I was sleeved. Weird how this procedure affects all of us so differently. Best of luck!

    Pill sizes...what is OK?

My doctor sent me home with liquid pain medicine which was awful. I found out very quickly that I could not stomach the liquid meds. My regular medicine is small enough that I have no trouble taking but the Biotin that I take is huge. I bought a pill slicer and cut that sucker up into 8 pieces. They have a dissolving tablet but it is only 1,000mg and I like taking the 10,000 mg.. I don't want to lose my hair. My vitamins are all gummies including the calcium supplement. I love that!! Hope this helps!
  12. You have done amazing! Your body is adjusting so give it time. I don't weigh everyday. If I did, I would freak out! Steady weight loss is the best. Keep it up and your body will reward you!!

    5 month update with pics.

Awesome!!! You look wonderful and you can tell you feel it also!!!
  14. I use Bioten 10,000 mg a day..the tablets are huge so I bought a pill cutter and cut those suckers up small. So far so good. I was really worried about hair loss especially since my hair is very thin already. I take the Bioten at night. Hope this helps.
  15. I used Adkins Advantage before and Premier afterwards. I could not handle the ones that you had to mix yourself (what my doctor sold to me). Best of luck!
  16. Very normal and you will continue to be tired for a few weeks. Make sure you are not getting dehydrated. Strain the chicken noodle soup. It taste so much better than just broth. Try popsicles also. Make sure you are taking your regular medicines along with what your doctor prescribed and REST. I can not tell you how much REST you are going to need to heal. It will get better. "This too shall pass". Hang in there!
  17. Wow! You didn't come home with a drainage bulb?? I had one in for 7 days...And my leak test was 2 hours after my surgery..I remember swallowing the stuff and telling them I was about to throw up (thank you Lord that I never did) but it was an awful feeling...Sounds like you did great! Thanks for sharing..
  18. Wow! You are doing awesome with your liquids. I am barely getting 48ozs in and my surgery was four weeks ago. I would suggest to NOT get on the scale every day. I don't. Your body is still healing and weight will fluctuate. Hang in there. I agree that you are losing inches. My family keeps saying that I am shrinking.

    Time off after Sleeve

I have a desk job and only took two weeks but needed more! Take 3 if you can. I was blessed in that we had a winter storm down here that gave me several extra days off. The fatigue is awful. I am four weeks out now and still have periods of Zero Energy. Remember that this is a life changing event for you. If you can take 3 weeks then do it!
  20. I had to do the 10 liquid diet also. Believe me, after the surgery, you will appreciate having done this. It was tough but after the 3rd day it gets easier. It really helped being able to eat the popsicles. I started out with Swanson's broth but started gagging just smelling it. Solution was to use broth from chicken noodle soup. That was much better. It really helps if you flavor your water with Crystal Lite. And jello-o is a good option also. Good luck and stick to it!
  21. You look amazing!!! Congrats!!! Thanks for sharing!
  22. I would recommend the pre-op liquid diet..I was so scared that my liver would be huge since I love bread! And I did not want any complications from that..My surgeon required it and actually said if the liver was large that he would not do the sleeve..It is really not that hard to do the liquid diet after the 3rd day..You will know what head hunger is for sure. Sounds like you are doing everything correct..Just keep it up!
  23. Popsicles are the best!!! Sugar-free!! Also you can try lying on a heating pad on your back. Small sips of liquid every 15 minutes also..If it hurts up in your chest or left shoulder then that is gas..get chewable GAS-X..it helps!! hang in there..it gets better
  24. GAS-X will take care of that for you!!! No carbonated drinks!!

    Feeling Lethargic

Hi Debbie! My name is Lesia and yes, ALL I want to do is lay my head down..It has been rough at work even though I have a desk job. I am three weeks out as of yesterday and I am eating some solid foods but not much. I drink my Protein Shake and of course Water but not getting down the 64ozs that I need. I try walking in my yard and up/down the hallways at work. That is about all I can do right now. I am not nauseated at all. I am sleeved for sure! I tried to eat some Vienna's last night and was only able to eat three..I guess that isn't too bad.. I am down to 210 and it is a slow loss for me..I actually think I prefer it that way because I have such a large stomach and know that the excess skin is going to be a problem. I would love to stay in touch..You can email me at lesiagrice@yahoo.com I don't get on this site every day..Just keep doing what you are doing!! Like I said earlier, I was told that the energy will come back! I am praying it will...Take care, Lesia
