    Popcorn!

I first tried popcorn at about 5 months out. I'm 6 months now and have no trouble with it. I try not to eat it though because I tend to eat more than I should.

Someone please answer this question for me...........

I was not told that I was required to have someone around. I needed my parents and my husband though because we have young kids who are very attached to me and very demanding. I had no complications and a great recovery so without the kids I wouldn't have needed anyone. You never know though if you are going to have complications and need someone there.

Old habits really do die hard

I slip up like occasionally especially around that time of the month, I've found it helpful to throw out the rest of whatever I've snacked on. I try not to bring it into the house but with young kids, it's impossible not to have snack food in the house. I won't dig through the trash so if it's thrown out, it's no longer an option and makes it easier.

    Am I CRAZY

I have a 9 year old daughter and 2.5 year old boy/girl twins. Our original plan was to have one, wait a year and then have another. Didn't work out that way. Away 5 years of miscarriage and fertility treatments we were finally blessed with twins. Being that I'm a bit older and had some existing conditions compounded with gestational diabetes the pregnancy was harder than my first but I made it through to 38 weeks with no bed rest. My twins were big at 6.12 and 6.15. The pregnancy took a toll on my body though and I still have nerve damage and compression neuropathy in my foot from the swelling. Comparing my single pregnancy to my twins, I would say it wasn't necessarily and more difficult, just a different kind of difficult. It was also much easier when they were infants than now as preschoolers. Like any new parent, you don't always know how you get through, you just do.

    Im about to faint

I'm currently having trouble with dizzy spells too but I know that it's from my low blood pressure. My doctor also told me to include more salt in my diet. I don't see how that's possible since I already eat a lot of salt. I also drink a lot of Powerade zero with electrolytes. I'm probably going to have to talk to my primary because my blood pressure keeps lowering and I'm really feeling dizzy when I stand up.

    Easter Dinner- help

I found ham to be one of the easier things to eat because it broke down so easily. It was one of the first meats I tried after surgery. My recommendation as with anything new you try is to take small bites an wait a few minutes in between to make sure there aren't going to be any problems.

    Anyone from Minnesota

I live in the Northern suburbs of the twin cities and had Dr. Svendson as my surgeon. I also have healthpartners and all they required was 2 weeks worth of use. I'd been diagnosed with sleep apnea a year before so I didn't need to redo the study. I don't have much of a problem using my mask I just don't like to. After surgery I haven't used it since.

    Do you ever?

Elfnow, I know exactly what you mean. I'm going through that right now trying to find my own style. Now that I can go into a store and grab a medium off the rack and have it fit, it's opened a whole new world of clothes for me. So many choices now that I often get overwhelmed and don't buy anything. Also, I'm trying to get used to the feeling of wearing fitted clothes because I always used to wear my clothes big and baggy. Sometimes, I still feel kind of exposed in fitted shirts.

    Medicine for head hunger?

My doctor once put me phentermine which is an appetite suppressant. It killed my appetite and I did lose weight. HOWEVER, I was told that phentermine is not given lightly. It can cause heart problems and other bad side effects so they were pretty cautious about who he prescribed it too. The down side here also is that is basically an amphetamine so it can be addictive and they only prescribed it for 3 months. And of course, after I was done taking it, my appetite returned and no more weight loss. This was before I had even started considering my surgery. It's generally given by my doctor for people who need to lose weight in a hurry because they are facing dangerous medical conditions. I'm not an expert but this was my experience. It did cause me some pretty serious dry mouth for a month but it went away.

    Traveling, need some food suggestions

You can bring food on the plane. At 5 weeks though that's going to be difficult. You might bring powdered Protein to the airport and then once your past security, buy Water and mix a shake. You can take liquids on the plane, just not through security. You could also bring prepackaged powdered Soup mixes and get hot water in the airport. Might need to watch the sodium though.

    Traveling, need some food suggestions

Is there a reason you can't bring food with you to the airport and airplane? I'd bring some Protein bars, some nuts, maybe some dried fruit to munch on. You generally are stuck with salads at fast food restaurants.

    gallbladder

I'm not sure why an insurance company wouldn't cover a gall bladder removal? I've had mine out years ago before I had my sleeve.
