Acid battle.. Advice?

Omeprazole works for me. If I have breakthrough issues a few tums does the trick. -
Carbonated Drinks
magtart replied to eccentricprof's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Before surgery I never drank carbonated drinks other than an occasional ginger ale if I had an upset stomach. Now, after surgery, it is the same. Once in a while I drink carbonated Water, but it takes me a couple of days to finish one bottle. -
I've never experienced this and can't imagine what would cause it. I hope you get some answers.

This recipe looks really good and the eggplant is not breaded. I'm going to try it soon. https://food52.com/recipes/37918-parmigiana-di-melanzane-eggplant-parmigiana

I think I'll pass this time. I still have Spaghetti Squash Casserole to eat, Beef & Barley Soup to make, and some new P3s to try out. I will be cheering y'all on, though. -

What Your Halloween Plans?
magtart replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
We didn't buy any candy this year. Our new neighborhood is not trick-or-treat friendly and it is supposed to rain. I'll just hunker down in front of the TV and watch scary movies while I eat my homemade Soup. -
I get reflux pretty bad, but my 20mg. of omeprazole daily takes care of it.

I never had a work shop. Only one visit with a NUT and the psych eval. That was it for me.

Doc says no fruit--EVER
magtart replied to Whynotnow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat fruit...apples, oranges, grapefruit, peaches, melon, blueberries, strawberries, cherries, and I could go on. Not many bananas, though. -
I made a puree one time. It was some kind of meat I don't recall with some jarred gravy. I found it disgusting and that was the end of my puree adventure. The lentil soup sounds good!

What Linaka said...patches are better than no vitamins and they might make you start feeling better.

Pasta E Fagioli, very light on the pasta.

They sound really good! I'm going to order some from Amazon. -
I lost 11 lbs. on my 2 week pre op diet and then gained back exactly 11 lbs. in the hospital. That was a pisser!

I was sleeved 12/2013. I have lost only 40 lbs. Most food is not appetizing to me. My calories come from drinking wine. I can't even think of something I would want to eat today. I used to enjoy cooking, but no longer do so. I am retired, but spend my days and nights caring for my husband who is a cancer patient. He cannot eat by mouth so it doesn't matter If I cook a meal or not. I think about all of the healthy foods I love and then don't want to cook them. If I do cook something then I no longer want to eat. For Mother's Day I bought $300 worth off jumbo Alaskan King Crab legs and some beef tenderloin for our MD dinner. My nephew did all the cooking and I still was only able to eat 2 bits of crab and 1 of meat. I am getting worried about my food apathy.

UPDATE! I am doing much better now. I am losing weight again, walking on the treadmill a bit, and drinking protein again. Unfortunately, I have been diagnosed with Alcoholic Hepatitis. I have lots of symptoms including weakness in my legs, fatigue, vomiting, and fogginess in my thinking. Since I quit the wine I can stand up in the kitchen long enough to make myself some tuna salad without vomiting. I still find it very hard to get up the stairs, but that is slowly getting better. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread!

Can we talk about Halloween candy?
magtart replied to Bndtoslv's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
We are not buying candy this year. Our new neighborhood is very hilly and not trick-or-treat friendly. I have only seen young kids once around here and that was sledding during the winter. I wouldn't say no to a caramel apple pop if one were to magically appear.
