Gastric Sleevers in Brisbane or recently done ......
magtart replied to Lacey82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not sleeved yet, but I have been reading these forums for several months. There are tons of people that feel the same as you, but it does get better every day. Further down on the main page you will find a section on Support Groups and there is one for Australia sleevers. I wish you success and happiness! -

How did you pick your "starting weight"?
magtart replied to HoosierGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm going to use the beginning of my pre-op diet. -
Maybe she could reach out to the medical groups that do the surgeries and offer her services as an aide for their patients.

Where did you get them? I see they have them on Amazon, but they would melt if I had them shipped to me. -

magtart replied to Suzannesh's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thanks so much for sharing your story. I'm just starting this journey at age 59. I am still pre op, but am looking forward to post op. I have been having 2nd thoughts from time to time thinking I am too old for this. Obviously, I am not!!! -

You look gorgeous, great job! -
I know how you feel. My younger sister and I have always been around the same level of fatness. She is 3 inches shorter than me so she always weighed less, but we were about the same size. Since I quit working to care for my husband (long-term illness) I have just gained more and more weight and become less mobile due to ruptured discs, spinal stenosis, and bad knees. Sis, on the other hand, was off work for 6 months or so and just stopped eating much due to stress. She now has a job that has her on her feet all day, but is still very stressful, so she continues to lose weight. She just does not eat healthy at all. My other Sis (they are twins) is an LPN and is constantly on her about her health. She has a history of pre-cancerous polyps in her colon, but refuses to get another colonoscopy. She has had some bleeding from the rectum within the last few months and still she won't make the appointment. She is all about how good she feels wearing a size 18 and getting compliments on her weight loss, but she is ignoring her health. I have finally had to tell her to quit calling me every week to say "guess how much I weigh?" She can call me, but she better be telling me she has made an appointment with the GI doc pretty soon. In the meantime, I know my decision to get the sleeve has a little bit of sibling rivalry in there, but the main reason is I need to get healthy before I am no longer able to care for my husband. I want to be healthy. I want to feel like getting out of bed in the morning and look forward to the day. I would say just focus on yourself. Try to renew your relationship with your sleeve. Maybe try a Protein shake to replace one meal a day. Take a nice long walk and enjoy the fall weather. Buy a new outfit in a smaller size that will show off your weight loss. Be nice to yourself.

Liver reeducation diet
magtart replied to Felicia2826's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I won't even get any meat or veggies, just liquid for two whole weeks! Don't you wish you could just not eat any liver and that would be your liver reduction plan? -
Yay! I hope you heal up quickly and become BFFs with your sleeve.

Ideas for liquid diet?
magtart replied to meaganchuckran's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sugar free jello, popsicles, and pudding. -
All I see is two blank spaces.

I can't get my protein in...
magtart replied to winnie410's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe try your instant breakfast with double milk...milk and instant milk powder. That would add some protein. Make a can of chicken noodle soup and strain out the noodles. -

BTW, I am in Houston, too and if my insurance didn't pay I would be on the road to Mexico. -

If you have $5000 you have enough to get the sleeve in Mexico. -
Blame the noises and gas on the dog. He won't mind.
