Help...what do I pack for the hospital
magtart replied to Sarah Waring2014's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I brought my phone, charger, kindle, chapstick, extra underwear and that's it. Anything else I needed was provided for me. I was too loaded on morphine to read and didn't use my phone other than having my son text hubby. -
I just do 30 min. on the treadmill 5-6 days a week and do some light weight lifting.
-
I don't see why not. Give it a go!
-
Oh no, I am so sorry you are suffering like this. I have tolerated Premier Protein from day 2 post op. Have you tried that? It is ready to drink and has 30g of protein per 11 oz. serving.
-
Hold your nose when you drink it. I had liquid pain meds that tasted like donkey azz, but it was better than hurting. Just keep thinking "this, too shall pass."
-
I get a stuffy nose at night and I wake myself up smelling my stinky breath. Ick
-
I drink Premier Protein RTD and that's it for shakes. I also drink Isopure Zero Carb, which is like a fruity drink with 40g of protein.
-
It's because your body is in ketosis. It happens on a very low carb diet. You can google it for all the science. Listerine Breath Strips for the win!
-
Migas is my favorite breakfast!
-
Greek yogurt or cottage cheese w/fruit, or sometimes just leftover meat from the night before. I tried steel cut oats one morning, but Sleevie Ray is not ready for that yet.
-
I called after around 5 days and they told me over the phone I was approved. Couldn't hurt, right?

Drinking water after operation
magtart replied to joydenstar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If the other beverages are things like Gatorade, diluted juice, Crystal Light, and other Clear Liquids, then yes, they count as Water. You do not need to drink those and the water. Good luck! -

-
Warm savory broth always made me satisfied. I simmered it and added herbs to make it taste better.

12/17 here and I have lost only 26 lbs. I'm old and a slow loser, but It doesn't bother me. I haven't tried any carbs other than a few triscuits for a snack and I had a few noodles once. -

Darn, I wish it was the chocolate flavor. I don't like anything Cookies and cream flavor, even ice cream. Guess I will pass. Thanks for posting, though. -
Not sure if this bruising is normal? Help.
magtart replied to wwled's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ouch! I had some bruising, but only very minor compared to yours. I guess I had a bruised area about 1/5 the size of yours. It went away in 4-5 days. -
I'm in!
