    Any Military Sleevers?

I know this is an ancient thread, but I had VSG at JBER in Anchorage, AK with Dr Clark. It was an amazing experience and I've had 2 other friends end up going as well with wonderful outcomes.

    Is this possible?

I lost 17 my first week. I'm guessing it's true.
  5. Yes! I stalled out around 2 weeks and it was SO frustrating. I'm 5 1/2 months out now and I've found that I tend to stall for a few weeks, then drop a couple of pounds (or more), stall for a few weeks, then lose. It's hard to quiet the old voice that tells me that this is just one more unsuccessful attempt at gaining control. I urge you to talk back to that voice with your actions. Stick to the plan. I'm a slower loser, having lost 67 pounds of the 150 I have to lose, but it will work! Plug along.

    Valentine's Challenge

Yesterday's starting weight was 244. My valentines day goal is 224 which will put me at just over 60 pounds down since surgery on Nov 1.

    Christmas - New Year Challenge

I spaced on posting weight last week. 244 which I think was 1 pound down from the previous week. I'm still hanging there so I'm not sure if I'll make my revised goal but I definitely hit my original goal of 245.
  10. My son was 19 months old when I had my VSG but he is still a very active nurser. I was able to nurse him within 12 hours of surgery and he did great. I have had no dehydration or supply issues at all. I did a bowel prep (mag citrate) but was never told I couldn't nurse him. For the record, he didn't have any poop issues afterwards.

    Christmas - New Year Challenge

    Last week I was 254.2. Today I was 247.8 so that's a solid 6.4 pounds. I suppose I should adjust my goal to 239.

    Christmas - New Year Challenge

I'd like to join the fun if possible. My weight on 11-27 was 260.2. Today I am 254.2. My New Year's Day goal is 245. That might be a little crazy but I'm only 5 weeks out and eating an ultra low carb diet that I need to maintain through the holidays. I'm a 30 year old SAHM/retired nurse to 2 kids (newly 3 and 20 months). I'm married to my best friend and a member of the United States Coast Guard. We are blessed to be living in Kodiak, AK right now but look forward to moving next summer. I've battled my weight for most of my life but finally just let myself go when I was in college and the pressures of keeping up with academics and physical activity just caught up with me. 5 weeks ago, I got my life back and have lost about 32 pounds since. I couldn't be happier. I plan to go back to work after our move and I can't wait to get rid of all of my 2X scrubs for cute, tiny ones!
  14. I've been stalled for almost 3 weeks. I lost 24 pounds the first 10 days and then have pretty much been stalled since (sleeved on 11/1). It's SO frustrating. I lost 3 pounds about 2 weeks into the stall, but then gained 1 back. It's ridiculously frustrating. I am also measuring weekly and seeing very very slow progress there, but my body is getting a little bit smaller. I was hoping to be down a dress size at this point, and it's just not happened. I was hoping to be down 30 pounds total by my 1 month follow up (tomorrow), but it sounds like I probably won't hit that goal. I'm still sticking to my plan, focusing on Protein and fluids and trying to keep from getting frustrated.

    Protein Powder Blues

How long are you on full liquids? Could you just give up on the shakes and transition to yogurt, cottage cheese and beans instead?
  16. I wouldn't wear it for much more than a week. The support can cause deconditioning (weakening) of the abdominal muscles because the band can sort of over support the core and the muscles can become weak.

    Remember This...

I haven't had an ounce of memory loss associated with my vsg - that was all from my children. Truly, though, I'm a nurse and am able to function competently and confidently. They certainly wouldn't let me do my job if I had memory loss.

    1 Yr Sleevers Where U At? :)

I was sleeved on 11/1, so just over 3 weeks out. I can't wait to be a year farther down on the losers bench! You girls are so inspiring. 26 pounds down, 124 to go. I just can't wait.
  19. I was still interested in your lucky and silver jeans

    I've Been So Bad

I'm a nurse too. I live on individual cups of cottage cheese, cheese sticks, peanut butter and celery/carrots, cold grilled chicken. It's really not hard, but it does require planning. And I get in SO much more water if I drink out of a water bottle. I kept it on my med cart at all times. And I'll be honest - I was WICKEDLY addicted to pop and I had to give it up cold turkey. It's even almost 2 months and I can honestly say that I don't miss it anymore.
  21. I had surgery on 11/1. So far I've lost 24 pounds and have lost consistently every day. This morning, the scale said exactly the same as yesterday. Is it normal to have a day so early on without a scale drop? I'm really not worried about it - I was just not expecting it until maybe the end of next week. Fwiw, I am struggling to get in both my protein and my water. I can get one or the other, but if I aim for both, I fall short on both.

    No Weight Loss Day

I am still on full liquids. I'm only taking in between 400-500 calories at this point but I'm ok with that as long as I stay hydrated. And yes, I am being honest with myself. I didn't go to the extreme measure of having 85% of my stomach surgically removed in order to cheat. That's just now how I roll.
  23. and I have lost 24 pounds so far!!!!!!! To put it in perspective, GamerGirl, that's 16% of my excess weight!!!!!! I'm ridiculously excited.
