  1. There's nothing more I enjoy than watching the eagles lose! Lol but how can I talk when my team can't win a game? Go giants.... Took my dogs for a long walk also that helped to get my mind off of it for a while
  2. Me also, bright and early...don't know what to do with myself today lol
  3. Thank you everyone I really appreciate the support
  4. And RJ I do enjoy that dish of meatballs and pasta....I just had my last bowl on Monday and made peace with it! No regrets there tho, that's partially why I'm 375! Sometimes I wonder if I wasn't born Italian if I would have ended up differently
  5. Im not worried about the hospital part but I guess it's the lifestyle change that is really getting to me, mainly because I don't know what to expect! As simple as going out with buddies for beer and wings sounds, I really love doing that! Happy you mentioned that one day down the road I will be able to do that
  6. For all you people that have been sleeved...has anyone severely freaked out before their surgery? Mine is Monday and let me tell you and be honest I am scared shitless! I know I need to do it being 375 lbs and truly I want to, but I keep having these feelings that I will regret the lifestyle change. Has anyone had these similar feelings?
  7. Dude this is awesome...congrats on the success
  8. This was always my main question and my surgeon said no beer but after 5-6 months you can introduce hard liquor, however he said it will take much less to get drunk because the alcohol is immediately absorbed into the body.
  9. What a great story...I love that your husband was 389 and now is 200 that's very inspiring for me, I'm the same starting weight now and going in next week for sleeve...glad to hear his success!
  10. What really helped me in the past when doing liquid diets was to have lots of Fiber...I would make a large glass of sugar free orange fiber mix and that would actually fill me up for a few hours. Give it a shot.
  11. Check this out http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc502.html You can consider this diet foods used within a diet plan, which is true. All deductible. But again, protein isn't super expensive so tough to deduct.
  12. Thanks! Nervous yet excited, what a strange feeling to be approved...You could deduct the Vitamins and Protein as these are necessary for all sleevers. Even the food scale is deductible but probably not heating pads as these aren't a necessity. Very slim chance that anyone would even qualify for these deductions though.
  13. That was supposed to be a frown face lol
  14. CPA here...you can write off all your medical expenses if you itemize your deductions on schedule A...however this is limited to 10% of AGI. Aka not many people will qualify for this deduction But on a positive note I was just approved for surgery tonight woohoo!!
  15. Looking good man! How's the skin situation after losing over 100lbs, do you have a ton of excess skin?
  16. Just finished my pre op appt...started in June at 384 lbs and today I was 372lbs...the doctor said I don't need to go on any liquid diet. Awesome! Just the night before surgery to only drink water.
  17. I'm going for pre-op appointment tomorrow, generally has everyone been required to drink protein shakes a few weeks before surgery? At my last nut appt I was told that I need to take in more protein now, not sure why. Does this make sense?
  18. I'm scheduled on October 21st in NJ with Dr Sowemimo, anyone else?
  19. 10/21 here in NJ woohoo!

Thanks everyone for the input, I guess I'll have to enjoy my final beers now
  21. mittiga posted a topic in Food and Nutrition
Hello everyone...my sleeve is scheduled for October 21 pending insurance approval. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether alcohol is well tolerated after being sleeved? I love my weekend drinks and would hate to give this up for life!
