    I love my lapband doctor! I like him way more than his staff..(but they were all fine as well) HE was good enough to make up for anything and everything.. HE is amazing, I never met any docter that was so nice and so professional and so personal.

    9am Orange juice, 4 ounces 3pm 4 cheese curds from A&W Small Root beer freeze 4pm two bites snickers 1/2 large rasberry slurpee from 7-11 7pm 1 cup parmeseun noodles one cup lettace, crutons, thousand island 16 ounces chocolate milk 10:45 pm 6 nutter butters 16 ounces milk 2% 1am.. Gulps of orange juice Notes: Still aint going to fit day yet to add this up, but I will.. Still not watching what I eat, but I will. I almost feel like trying to loose 20 pounds at leaste by going on my low carb miriclule diet.. lose it by april 20th.. sick of only having 40 pounds lost, My daughter and cousin are doing low carb, low fat and low cal.. so i should do SOMETHING! I can always eat a few things right before I go for my fill.. I hate this BS.. I really do. Took dog to run and play and dug up worms today.. we are making a worm farm for fun, the new kids think I am nuts but wait until they see the worms wonderfull life! lol Took the box and dug some dirt, my back is killing me right now. The instructor at the ymca was canned, I am convinced it is because she was obese, mexican and very loud.. I heard what went on, I wont go into detail but it upsets me.. It was slight discrimination.. the new lady is alittle better (but not so in some ways) I dont think shes so much better that the other lady should of been let go and everyone talk behind her back as if she is not a person.. That whole place has been treating my family like the white trash that we LOOK like BUT we arent! I am trying to just proove them wrong.. its always like this every where we go and my obesity sure doesnt help.. luckily i have georgeous and brilliant and behaved kids.. but anyway.. ITS a challenge I am up to.

    I really like to see your progress with how you are working and looking at your foods, etc. To you question about protien: Use your IDEAL weight in that calculation. You don't want to eat enough to support to the body you have now, you want to eat enough to support your future body. >>>>>>>>>>>THANK YOU!! I thought that figure was alittle crazy. LOL That means I should have enough.. BUT when I cut down my food intake I will need to eat higher Protein foods in order to get enough.. I know what your saying about the drinking and eating.. I am not even gonna have milk in the house to start... as soon as this milk rins out, thats it.. I know all about crystal lite and all the no carb, no cal drinks.. I lost 40 pounds in a month doing a low carb diet but I hated every minute of it.. and I dont WANT to do that.. I want to eat small portains of what I want.. I hope the fill will accomplish that, but if not, i will have to do something.. I cant imagine i will ever let my band go to waste! Thanks for your advice!! Loves

  8. I lost 40 pounds and I am all my same clothes. I even bought a size smaller to see or wait till I fit and they dont fit right, so 40 pounds on me doesnt make much of a difference. I wear 6X for a guareenteed big comfy fit. A 5X fits but isnt as roomy.. I may have to pull the waist down or the short sleeves or the buttons will pooch. A 4X is a MAYBE... worth a try if 4X is the largest size in that item.. usuallt though it dont fit right. 3X is impossible or so tight it looks silly sillly silly All of this is through Romans or LaneBryant catalog. Will I ever fit into a Large???????????????????? I wonder

    Good for you! your figuring it out.. you'll make it. I had the atkins chocolate and vanilla shakes (only 10 grams of Protein each) and thought they were downright tastey by week two.. I was waking up eager to have one! lol

    3 ounces OJ 16 ounces chocolate milk Half a Mc donalds saugage egg and cheese KfC chicken snacker small root beer float one peice chocolate easter candy Plain double cheeseburger 16 ounces 2% milk half a snickers bar Handfull of fries, mayo, ketsup.. hershey sunday pie Chocolate milk 24 ounces Gulps of OJ... who knows how much, didnt even pour it into my 8 ounce cup. NOTES: I am not even adding it up. Worked really hard in Water aerobics today though.. went a half hour early and swam with the kids, raced them backwards crawl ... its the only way I can swim fast enough to give them some competition. I won a few times. Some lady was holding "Margaretta night" and I said "on a wednesday, now thats alcoholism" I said it so only a few could hear and it was old ladies.. and i wonder why I have no friends. lol I also could teach that class so much better than she could!!..(In my mind.. not my body,,lol) I guess thats why college graduates dont teach water aerobics at the YMCA too often.. My daughter goes and cant even get a workout yet she is too lazy to work out for real.. oh well, she lost 12 pounds and is at 143# and I just want her to keep it off, so... shes the smallest and youngest girl in the place. AND I found out she wont get naked in frount of the ladies.. she uses a dressing room! Age 17.. thats just stupid.. and i told her so.. ok I will add up those stinking calories and stuff tomarrow. I hate looking at this but I hope it will ne nice to look back upon when I have restriction.!! Chins up girl!

    sober 4 good?

    I am very interested in how alcohal affects people with the band. I am single, I like to go out and I like to get drunk. (less than once a month) I can drink 3 long island ice t's and I am good to go.. I tried this last weekend.. I didnt get drunk at all.. I am confused about it. I dont HAVE to do it, but I would still like to if I can.. Does the band ever make it so you drink less but get as drunk?

    I have zero restriction on cheetos. (the puffy kind) I ate a whole one of those asteroids cans.. I have never tried popcorn. I made a rule No more cheatos, its my only rule right now, but I need more. (rules) I just ate 6 nutter butters.. I feel restriction.. BUT hello, i dont wanna be able to eat more than ONE! I havnt had a fill yet, have you?

    Well, I have a fill on April 20th.. BUt I am doing it locally. (Portland Oregon) I love Dr. Ortiz .. (alot) BUT, I cant afford it or tolerate the trip on my own. I wish we could meet though, that would be awesome. I hear he is gonna use your photo's in an infomercial.. thats so neat!! How many grams of Protein are we to have a day? I had 75grams yesterday and 89grams the day before (according to fitday) I was told 30 grams a day by ORtiz for the post op diet. let me search a minute. Ok so I found a site where I divide my weight by 2.2 to find the kilogram then I multiply that number by 0.8 and well I got 135 grams.. I am surpose to have 135 grams of protein a day? Sheesh???!!!

    OMG!!! Liquid Diet

    I dunno.. IMO its important you loose some weight to shrink the liver and not have a bunch of bulk in you to inhibit healing.. Any liquid diet will do those two things. Its only two weeks.. your not going to lose much nutrition in that time. BUT.. YOu need to floow their rules OR they may not treat you.. I dont know how strict they are about that. If you absolutely do not have the money.. I see no other choice than do what you can. Otherwise you have to find the money somehow.. I wouldnt give up though.. if you cant get through to them.. start the GNC thing (other products from costco are the same as the GNC stuff) or do something.. and hope it will be ok with them.

    Pam.. thanks so much for your honesty... What you describe is exactly how I feel I will be doing this band. I mean I hope I can do better, but I know better than to count on it. If I was able to work with a program and follow all the rules, I wouldnt have needed to get the band at all. This isnt the best nor the appropriate way to do it, but I was desperate and I was desperate because I FAILED for 15 years to have anyt control over it, getting the band did not magically make me be able to have control... and I sure wasnt going to NOT get the band and STAY in my situation just becasue I MAY not follow the banding procedure the best way. Its worth the chance that it will help me, be it alittle or alot. Any significantly obese person should at least try it. I eat way way less.. though it may not be enough for weight loss right now (I have not got my first fill yet)... its still worth it, that I eat less and especially DRINK less.. I used to drink a gallon of milk and then about a half gallon of juice a day and now its cut in half or more.. I think if your more than 100 pounds overweight and you have health problems and have tried for years and years to solve your obesity problems and failed...you should try it, rather than continuing failing or give up!! but if your young and healthy and not very overweight and KNOW you prolly wont be able to work the program very well then maybe you should SAVE your money..

    You can get 24 cans of low carb atkins shakes for 26$ at costco. They have plenty of nutrition for two weeks. If you drink 4 a day.. (they are very filling) It will only cost you about 60$ You can drink other things too, like crystal lite and diet pop and zero carb drinks..

    lamadam) I see hardly NO Protein, still lots of liquids. If you need liquids in the morning try a Protein shake instead of juice. Are you drinking with your meals?? That is a NO NO for bandsters. Or do you wait an hour like we are suppossed to to drink after a meal?? girl) I AM drinking with my meals. I know I am not surpose to. I HAVE to Make it a rule and I intend to do so soon. I really hope my fill motivates me not to do it. IF NOt I will HAVE to do it on my own.. I am gonna have to be forced into it. Its gonna be my biggest challenge. I will google high protein foods.... and see what I like and what wont feel like a 'diet" and try to fool my brain... I am not really motivated by hunger.. BUT if I feel all full, i will eat less cuz I dont like that feeling you get on the band when you eat too much.. THANK YOU!!!
  20. You all are so amazing at support and advice. How nice we have this place!! I felt a power and control and kind of elation from not being able to eat much. When I was banded, I was ranting and raving about how I didnt care about food one bit and I was defying reality and it really didnt make sense to me that I didnt care about the impossibility of eating much more than some juice and milk and tomatoe Soup and poscicles... BUT it was absolutely astonishing and I was a happy camper! Well it went away and now I am a PIG again. I feel like crud again. I feel like a loser and well................. I NEED A FILL. I want restriction. NO PAIN NO GAIN! Bring it on! (pretty please) I wanna feel that power and control of when I first came home and was restricted so much that the moment I went too far.. I KNEW IT and I stopped... I knew I would have a PB or vomit and feel real pain if I did ..... I never get that feeling now, well I do.. I eat less... I drink WAY less.. BUt its not Amazing and Its not making me feel in control either. My lust for control NOT to eat ... overpowers my craving to eat... Do you understand that?? LOL As you see.. I have issues.. and I HATE FOOD. I think I eat too much to punish my self.. and then not being able to eat much at all, Feeels like a punishment and so I am still happy.. I dunno

    GROSSEST Pig Out Combo of Food

    OH my! The worst one I seen here (IMO) is Fritos and Buttermilk! (I dont get that at all) Plus I have thought of using something else for cerial but I never ever have! LOL I almost never do it, but when i was little my mom did it all the time for me. A bowl of cottage cheese, with a canned pear half (and some nectar!) and a scoop of miricule whip. YUM YUM I used to do fries and milkshalkes all the time. I also like sour cream in leftover spegetti.... and some ketsup too. People I have met, think these are weird but I think its not so crazy: A handfull of tortilla chips, shredded cheese and squirts of ketsup on a plate and microwave till melted and ketsup is tangy hot. Mini Marshmellows in cerial and milk. Warm milk and butter with shredded wheat and poached eggs in bowl Nesquick chocolate powder on vanilla ice cream. Ketsup on eggs and chicken. My daughter makes cheese and apple stacks and I think its sooooo gross~

    Jack, In an attempt to understand your post, i read it many times. Thanks for trying so hard to explain it. I do not take it seriously at all.. as long as my doctor doesnt freak out, I tend to think its ok.. Thats not smart, I know... I really believe all this will get better in time. I am not being a 'good' banster right now, but I will.. I KNOW I will.. (jack) moodiness, tiredness, confusion, inability to concentrate, daytime sleepiness, etc etc... girl) Its Impossible for me to link these with my diabeties.. BUT I have every single one. In fact, I have turned into a real 'dummy' (my words) when I had always been extra smart, quick.. ya know (in my family anyway) and now I cant keep a though straight and its a daily battle of the witts.. I HOPE its not my diabeties.. I always blame it on my back and my pain and my lack of oxygen from huffing and puffing around and the stress on me to function with this morbid obesity and lumbar disc disease. Again.. as I gain control of the obesity.. the back gets fusions (and better) and my diabeties gets better and I really hope that list above gets better (i tend to think thats just my personality and who I am now) Thank you so much for your advice!!! NewHope) Nykee, how long did it take you to lose the 41 pounds? girl) One month. NewHope) The band is made to work w/solid foods, not liquids. If you're drinking a lot of liquid calories, it's not going to matter how tight you're filled. The liquids go right through your band and leave you still feeling hungry, so you'll just drink more calories, and it's a vicious cycle. girl) Well.. Liquid IS reduced ALOT.. I do have restriction in that area. I used to drink 5 to 8 glasses of milk at a meal... Now its one or two.. which is still too much.. but better anyway.. BUT I know what you mean. This will be my biggest struggle. When I lost the 41 pounds in a month, there was a no milk and no juice rule..... But I kept telling my self "its only a month, its only a month.. I can have it again just in small amounts.. well 'small' to me isnt so small..LOL Newhope) This will slow your weight loss down. You say you don't cook. How about picking up some of the Starkist "Tuna Creations"? How about some low-calorie frozen dinners? They're not good for all of the time because they have a high sodium (salt) content. Do you eat salads? There are healthy alternatives out there without having to cook. I am so proud of you for using Fitday and being responsible. girl) Well.. I am not being responsible with food and my band.. I had counted on the restriction WAY too much I am affraid and alittle scared that its looking to be back on my shoulders.. I dont trust in myself, i have always failed my self (in this area) BUT.. I do very well when I set my mind to it (like the no milk and juice rule for that month... as an example) The south beach people have some TV dinner type foods on the market now. I am gonna give those a try. I do know about the healthy alternatives out there.. I have lost lots of weight, many times..(I always gain it back) NewHope) Have you tried using a recumbant stationary bicycle? That should be easier for your back.     True.. After I posted my easter dinner, i decided to remember and post everything I ate that day and then I went and ate more food as I was posting! I listed it all in another thread. LOL Today i ate alot less.. I went crazy on easter.. MAYBE because I felt cheated on my easter dinner..LOL I dunno.. all I know is I cant wait for my fill! I made an appointment just today! April 20th! I cant wait!

LOL I am going to the YMCA and to Aqua Aerobics from 6:45 to 9pm (thats 15 minutes from now) I SHOULD eat something for dinner that will keep my carb total under 100 NO more fat! and I have about 350 calories left to stay under 1200 calories. Hummmmm I didnt even try (I am not going to be trying very hard these days) I should decide right now what to have.. But I aint gonna. (I need more organization and order in my life) P.S. I DO NOT LIKE Aqua Aerobics, it boring and I cant "work harder" becasue my back makes it impossible.. I rather sit here at the computer! Good for me for going! Lets see With out it and the milk I had with it, my counts would be: 236, 70, 1738. Thats so much better! Well.. Maybe tomarrow I will actually TRY to do good and see what happens.. My Proposed menu tomarrow is: 8 ounces grape juice Parm noodles 1/2 cup, 3 shrimps or bit of chicken, small salad, 16 ounces milk. 1 can tomatoe Soup and half a cheese sand and 16 ounces milk... (eat late.. go to bed early... to avoid this night time eating!) The counts are approx: 125 carb, 50Fat, 1400Cal THAT WOULD BE GREAT! Thats plenty of food, there should be NO reason why I cant just eat that much.. its all food I enjoy and I wouldnt call it a 'good diet' BUt the carb, cal and fat counts are decent. I could do alot better, but my mentality is still in "I Dont wanna diet.. no fair, I tried dieting for 15 yrs and I am not surpose to have to THINK of dieting!" The lapband resrtiction is awesome.. Not only do you have restriction, you dont CARE! You eat what you can and somehow thats enough for the brain, I know I wont continue to eat if I have PB's or feel uncomfortable! I GET MY FILL ON APRIL 20th.. I CANT WAIT!!!!!

    NewHope) Nykee, girl, I'm glad that you're using Fitday. It really does help show you what you're doing. I know today was Easter and there was a lot of junk food around (candies). But this isn't your normal day's diet, is it? girl) No, its not my normal but it does happen.. Newhope) Eating that much sugar is very dangerous, especially if you have diabetic tendencies. girl) I have diabeties. My points are 8.2 (whatever that means) I realize it was alot of sugar, but I have had more than that.. Newhope) You need to eat hard Proteins (lean, moist meats) first, then vegetables, and finally carbs (if still room left.) girl) I eat mixed foods. I dont cook. This sounds very hard to implement ot me.. BUt i know your right, Newhope) Wait one hour to drink liquids after any meals. Then get as much Water in as you can. girl) this is the hardest part! this is really where I need to concentrate., Lamadam, I was on a low carb diet for the month before I got my lapband. I know how carbs work... and I know I am addicted to them (mostly in juice) I hate low carbing.. but I am gonna try to keep em under 100 carbs a day after i get myt fill. Jack) I am diabetic. Simply put, if I ate this list it would kill me. If I ate half of it, I would be driven into a chemical imbalance that would act like pouring kerosine on a fire to put it out. Those carbs and sugars simply have no place in a human body. girl) I have diabeties and nothing happens to me.. I am grumpy and emotional and OBESE is all I can tell anyway. I used to drink a gallon of juice a day and eat like 10 Cookies (not two)(like Oreo's) and whole candy car (not a few mini bites) and Nothing happened then either. Doesnt mean I should do it, I KNOW I shouldnt. I got my blood done for diabeties two weeks ago and the level was 8.2.. I dont know what that means.. cept my doctor said he would like it at 8.0 Jack) I was never a person who could eat one donut....If I had ONE that would put me in a frenzy where 6 or 10 were not enough... I slowly learned I could manage by NOT taking that first bite...just about like an alcoholic. Girl) I have never done that. I have never consumed a whole bag of chips, or pizza or a quart of icecream or anything even close to that. I eat too much. I awknowlege that. My meals are not real big though. Though they need to be WAY WAY SMALLER!! Donali) Just an observation - 1137 of those calories were from LIQUIDS!!! Almost your whole day's calorie allotment! Those liquid calories are sneaky!! girl) I know, its horrible. I been addicted to milk and juice for like 10 years. Over a gallon a day habit up until I was banded. This is so much less.. but still way more than reasonable. NOT drinking with food is gonna be my biggest challenge. Thanks everyone for your input and advice, its very welcome. Sorry if any of my process distrsses anyone. I do not claim to be a model lapband patient but I will be 100% honest. I didnt get this thing because I WAS ABLE to control my habits, I got it because I couldnt... The truth is, I am gonna have to be reallly tightly banded for this to work OR GET MY HEAD OUT OF MY ASS.. and that hasnt happened in all these years so I dont see it happening now... BUT YA NEVER KNOW> I AM TRYING.. IN MY honestly.. do not mistake it for My being apathetic and not trying. I am doing MY best.
