  1. I'm getting sleeved today. I'm getting ready to go to the hospital. I didn't get much sleep and my stomach is in knots because I'm nervous but I am determined and I know I will be OK. I'm singing the happy song all the way to the hospital. LOL I might be singing a different song when I wake up lol but that's OK. Please sent good vibes my way and keep me in your prayers. I will try to update as soon as I can. Ps...That stuff they give you to take a shower with the night/morning before surgery actually smells pretty good. Talk to y'all later.
  2. Hi guys. Quick post cuz I'm at work. I am now 208 and seem to be stuck there 2 weeks now. But from a size 24(tight) I'm now a size 16. I feel great. People are noticing and that motivates me more. I was asked out on a date but I turned it down. For now I want to focus on me no dating drama or what I'm I gonna wear etc. One thing I'm really hating is the stomach sounds. I'm starting to avoid eating around others because sometimes its loud. Even drinking water sometimes makes my tummy make funny sounds. I had to order new uniforms and buy new underwear. Love it. Well guys gotta go now. Talk to u all later.
  3. My first dining out experience. A friend came from out of town and we went to Gino's Pizza "Chicago's deep dish". Wellllll. Lol. I couldn't drink the tab beer. Tasted nasty to me, I wasn't happy w that. Appetizers came, breaded spinach sticks, I love those so I had two. Then the pizza came and I couldn't eat it. ???? I was full w the two bread sticks. So I sat there feeling awkward as my friends ate. And I ended up telling them about the surgery (which I wasn't planning to) because they were already asking why I wasn't eating. Next time no appetizers for me. I wasn't planning to eat the whole slice but at least I wanted to eat some. And I definitely wanted a beer but I guess my new tummy didn't and u have to listen to it. I did feel good in my clothes though. I guess I'm a cheap date now lol.
  4. Sorry for not posting more often. Trying to get my son to let me use his computer is not an easy task lol. Well I am back to doing exercises and with a vengeance...I'm doing an hour on the treadmill almost daily now. Between running and walking. On the days I'm too tired I do 30minutes. and I don't skip two days in a row without exercise. It has made a difference. The scale is now at 215 however the clothes feel a lot looser. For some reason I'm afraid to eat regular foods like chicken etc.. I'm still kind of eating soft foods or stuff I can chew and make it soft. I'm fine with this for now. I'm hating that some of my coworkers watch everything I put in my mouth, all of a sudden they've become experts on what I should eat and shouldn't eat, they watch what I eat all the time and ask how much have I lost all the time. So I tell them I can eat whatever I want just not as much as I used to and that I don't weight myself anymore daily which is the truth. I still have some of my "skinny clothes" that I never got rid of. Lots of jeans and cute shirts so I have been trying them. The jeans come up my hips now but I still can't zip them up but Im getting there. I made a mini goal to be in onederland by my birthday at the end of July. I'm feeling good about myself again. Make up is back out...and Im paying more attention to myself. I love my sleeve, I do not regret this one bit. My scars are red and I don't like them much but they are small. I need to find me a cream or something that can make them fade a little. Any suggestions? Well guys this is it for now. xoxoxox
  5. At the pre op appointment they gave me a liquid soap I had to take a shower with I forgot what is was called. LOL
  6. Today 220. I'm losing but very slowly and even though I'm happy that I'm losing I was expecting it to be faster like others. But everyone is different I know, I just wish things would speed up. Feeling not so happy.
  7. Oh I forgot one more thing...I made a goal. My birthday is at the end of July and I'm hoping to be in onederland for that day.
  8. Ok finally got a hold of a computer. Just a quick update I'm still 222. I have tried different foods but no real solid foods. When I try new foods I make sure that Im at home. I have noticed that if eat too many carbs I get dizzy. Learned this because I had a piece of crumb cake and I spent like an hour very light headed. I have tried other foods that people say they can't tolerate for a while. But everything I try is in very small amounts. I have tried mac and cheese my absolute favorite but about 3 spoons is enough to fill me up. I tried biscuit and was able to eat it (before I could easily eat 3 or 4) I ate half and was full. Im ok with peanut butter now which I couldn't eat before and it is one of those things that fills you up real quick. With my egg beaters I'll have 2 crackers sometimes. I tried the bariatric advantage protein that I was drinking during my pre op diet and because to make it I use the blender I noticed that all those bubbles that it makes when you mix it are not good they will make you gassy and is not a good feeling. Sometimes the old me comes back and I put more food in the plate than I should and this is when I loveeee my sleeve, because it won't let me eat it. It lets me know I'm full and even if its good you gotta put the folk down because otherwise you know you will not feel good afterwards. My uniforms are big now and people at work notice. I don't have to sip my water which is great because I hated that. I can drink it normally I can't take big gulps but I don't have to sip, however the protein shakes I do drink slowly. I can't eat and drink at the same time which we are not supposed to do anyways, but of course I have tried and I noticed my stomach starts making these slush sounds and noises so I stick to that rule of no liquids 30 minutes before or after. Sometimes the noises can get loud after you eat but so far I have not suffer from gas problems like some of my friends have. No constipation. Since I started working exercise is not everyday anymore :-( I get home tired sometimes and I know I should but I don't. I do however try to walk at work because I know I won't be doing it at home, is not as much as I was doing but at least I'm moving. Well this is it for now. Hope everyone is doing good.
  9. Im still eating soft foods, Im afraid of the transition into regular foods.
  10. Sorry I Haven't been posting my computer is down and to get the kids to lent me theirs is like pulling teeth and I hate using my phone app for this. I haven't lost much but a lost is a lost and I'm 222 today. Wohooo. Afraid to eat solids still and I feel good w soft foods so I'm sticking to them for now. I'll try To get to a computer today so I can read all your posts and answer any questions.
  11. I hit a stall at 226. That lasted for more than 2 weeks ( it felt like an eternity). I decided to stop weighing every day because it was causing anxiety. So today I stepped on the scale scared to death and I'm now 224. 2lbs less. Not a lot but that means stall is gone. I'm super happy about this. Happy Mother's day to all the mom's out there.
  12. I know all about Mangu. Im from Puerto Rico and it is one of my favorite dishes. Try reduced fat Peanut Butter and see if your stomach likes it. I had a problem with it feeling too heavy at the beginning but now I can have small amounts. I love egg beaters. and premier Proteins are my main source for protein. Do a "sancocho" and the broth of that gotta be super good.
  13. :-) People are noticing the weight loss...Im so happy

  14. I will weight myself tomorrow. I feel that I have lost my pants feel looser. We will see. I am still eating soft foods even though Im out a month as of today. I am afraid of solid foods still. Peanut butter is tolerable now but little amounts. And mashed potatoes make me feel full for hours and it sits there so Im not a fan right now. Been walking during my lunch hour since Im back at work and I get home tired. I've been averaging about 4000 to 5000 steps. My goal is 10,000 steps. I will update tomorrow how much if any I have lost. Stall better be gone. lol
  15. Hey Hun ! I Am doing great ! Still having issue with getting my fluids and Protein in but everyday it's get easier , today I mashed some plantain up to like mash potato form it was awsome !!! Lol plantain is a staple in my country lol we can't eat it with anything , I just hope I don't have any stomach issues later on tonight ? How much have you lost so far ? You still at a stall I feel like I am ! I been at 230 for like 5 days ughhhh So you had some mangu? I love Mangu. Be careful though platanos have a lot of carbs. Don't worry about stalls its only temporary and don't weight yourself everyday. Try to get more protein in and Water this will help.
  16. Ar40 even if it hurts try to walk and Gas-x that helped me a lot. I walked at a very slow pace for 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the afternoon and around the house. And the first few days after going home from hospital I slept sitting down on the sofa. I also bought a body pillow which helped a lot. Hang in there it gets better.
  17. Dominicana88 how are u? I boiled my meatballs no sauce. I can eat soft foods already so I just make sure I chew them to puree form. They fill me up.
  18. I don't know if I have lost or not because I refused to step on the scale. I will next Sunday and it better have moved down by then. It was getting too stressful to do it everyday and not see it move. If it wasn't for the surgery I would be eating everything in sight right now. And yesterday I tried to eat meatballs and mashed and serve myself a little bit more than I knew was right, but I was only able to eat the 4 very small meatballs I was too full for the mashed potatoes thank God. My uniform still lose so I'm not gaining. I hope by next Sunday this stall is gone.
  19. Bonbini and AR40 I wish you the best of luck and hope u have a good and speedy recovery.
  20. STALLS ARE EVIL. I think its been 10 days already with the scale not moving. I am feeling frustrated, and yes I knew this would happen because I read about it and it's all over this site, still it is frustrating. I even went and got a new scale since my other kept giving me different numbers depending on where I put it. The only good thing I can say it's that I have not gained. But of course there is that voice in the back of my head that thinks "what if I don't lose, what if I'm the one person that cannot lose weight even with the surgery". Yeah stalls do that to you...they fill you with doubts. I read that it could take as much as 3 weeks or 4 weeks, its only been 10 days and I'm going crazy if it last 3 or 4 weeks I'm gonna be so upset. Well I will talk to you guys later. Sorry about the rant but these are the stages of post op surgery, you will hit stalls and feel upset. but that's OK because this too shall pass.
  21. I did.. LOL... I actually started my preop diet like 3 or 4 days early just so I could get used to it and in case I felt like I had to cheat at least I could get back to it..On those 3 or 4 days I did cheat then I started the real deal and for the first 3 days I had the worst headaches I did good for about 7 days and then I cooked mac and cheese for my son...LOL and yes I served myself some I couldn't resist. Liquid diet was the hardest for me.At work people noticed and most were very nice and of course you get the few that want to see what you are eating and then give you their diet ideas and expertise etc...I shut them up by telling them " I'm following the diet the Dr. gave me". But overall it felt good that people noticed I was losing.
  22. I had my surgery April 10. Day of surgery weight 237 and I stalled at 227. It's been 10 days at 227 the good thing is that Im not gaining but everymorning when I step on that scale I get so mad. Today I went and got a new scale LOL...I'm in denial I guess. And I wonder how long it will last.
  23. Three week stall you will not win. It's onnnnn... lol

    Peanut butter

I had a problem with peanut butter post op. My surgery was April 10 when I was allowed soft foods I tried the reduced fat peanut butter to get the extra protein. The first time it sent me running to the bathroom and the second time it just sat like in the middle of my chest for hours I couldn't sleep I hated the feeling so I won't eat it again for a while. But everyone is different.
  25. Ar40 I can drink w no problem so I'm drinking my premier protein only one and the rest of the protein I try to take from cottage cheese, yogurt, eggs. I hate stalls but the good thing is I'm not gaining at all the scale is just stuck on 226 grrrr. But just the fact that I'm not gaining makes it OK, I knew this would happen. I went back to work yesterday and everyone noticed the difference and when I was taking my lunch I noticed a couple of them looking to see what I was eating and how much. Lol. Haters everywhere waiting for u to fail. I walked around during my breaks to get some exercise in. I think I'm gonna wait a week before I step on the scale again because its a little frustrating right now w the stall.
