  1. Hi Forward- Wouldn't necessarily label it as "normal" or "abnormal". There could be several variables. ( Is the scale you're using reliable? Are you retaining fluids for some reason? Have you moved your bowels? Are you wearing heavy clothes when you weigh? Is it possible that you're not getting the minimum in and you're in starvation mode?) When is your 1st post op appointment? Wait until you get on the Surgeon's scale before you worry.

    66 Pounds Down!

Awesome! Can't wait to share some successes too. Just think, you'll be closer to your goal by Christmas!
  3. "You may not understand a non-scale victory yet, but you will at some point realize what a big deal this is!!!!! I have never felt so in control. This would not have happened prior to surgery, it makes it easier for me to make wiser choices if I need or want to!!! Even at three years out, I still have new and exciting things happening!" That is wonderful and inspiring. I cannot imagine throwing pizza away! thanks for the other words of caution too. I am following what my doctor advised. Being faithful.
  4. I had Surgery on 9.11.13 and my doc started me on blended foods yesterday (1 week out). I bought cottege cheese but haven't eaten it yet. I did have cooked Cauliflower blended in chicken broth tonight and it was HEAVEN!

    Days 1- 90 -Post Op

Hi Blessing, I am neck and neck with you. Had my procedure done on 9.11.13. I weighed 268 a week before surgery 262 the morning of surgery and 253 at my 1st post op appointment Tuesday! I had some gas and I too had very little pain. I awoke with severe nausea but after lots of antiemetics, it went away and as not come back. Interesting how the post op diets are different, I was on clears for 1st 3 days, then full liquids until yesterday when I started the "blended" diet. It was hard the first day but I have gotten help from my mom finding foods to blend. (have had tilapia, cauliflower, sweet potato, eggs, and beans) Look forward to losing with ya!!

    6 month follow up.

On your 1 year anniversary I will be 6 months. It is my goal to be under 200 by then!!! Congrats to you!
  7. I agree with ejpjsmommy. I had two sections (2005 & 2007) I had the Sleeve done last Wednesday ( 9.11.13) and I was home within 23 hours. Torodol and PCA Morphine worked great!
  8. Lory, thank you for posting this. I am a food addict too and my goal is to express and work through how I feel versus drowning it out with a heaping portion of something sweet or salty. I am 6 days post surgery and yesterday was really hard. I was stressi g over work and school and money and wanted desperately wanted to eat to cope but couldn't. I am going to work on my head issues and take every advantage of the vsg to prevent this
  9. Hi. My name is Teresa. I had surgery on 9.11.13 so 5days post op today. Had a great surgical and hospital experience. Finding my discharge instructions from surgeon confusing. Also seems very different from what others have posted on here. Had clear liquids first 3 days. Introduced protein shakes on Saturday with success. Yesterday and today I had small portion of full liquids. Have to work hard to get fluid all in. Follow up appointment is tomorrow. Looking forward to getting on scale and getting some clarification on what to consume. Missed food today. This site has been so helpful in refocusing those negative thoughts.
