  1. Think I have finally moved from my stall. Just shy of 7 weeks and I am down 42 pounds. Minus 4lbs in the past three days. I also went to my Primary Care Physician yesterday and I have not only said good bye to 42 lbs (the equivalent weight of 5 gallons of milk) but I have now said goodbye to Metformin, Simvastatin and Lotrel. Two of them having been a part of my life for 11 years. I am also walking about five miles per day, climbing about 10 flights of stairs and burning about 3200 calories daily.

I am feeling very good about my decision to sleeve and know I am headed for a better life. Come on summer and come on roller coasters.

Enough about me. I would ask that you keep one of our September sleevers in your thoughts today. She has had her share of struggles since surgery and this morning they are thinking she has developed a leak. She will be tested this morning and if positive surgery to follow.

    Good luck friend. 11/12/13.

  2. My engine has stalled. Ok maybe not my engine but certainly my weight loss. I am three weeks post surgery and this is my first stall with weight loss. I have been stuck for four days and am curious when these occur, how long might I expect before my body wakes up and says, oh yeah, I am on a mission to lose weight and start do just that? I have increased my Water and exercise so I am now open to thoughts. No I have not called my physicians office, I figure they have far more important things to do than answer such questions.

  3. 3 weeks after surgery today and down 26lbs! I'm very happy and anything lost is a plus in my book. Hope everyone is doing well <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Surgery 9/19 Weight : 274 No pre-op Diet Current Weight : 248

Congratulations you gotta be pretty pleased with that. You'll be in the ones before you know it.

  4. I had my first post-op apt on Thursday. Met with my nut' date=' nurse practitioner, & surgeon. I'm down 11 pounds since surgery, but all 3 of them told them that they don't even focus on the amount of weight lost until 3 to 4 months down the road. They want me to focus on getting used to the new diet, and making sure I get my 60g Protein a day and 48 to 64oz of Fluid a day. Everything is going great...still having muscle pain at one of my incision site and he said that would probably last several weeks while the muscle he sutured back up heals. And I got to move to my pureed/mushed diet!!! A scrambled egg never tasted so good....could only eat about half of 1 large egg, but it was still something to chew!! Hope everyone's journey is still going well!![/quote']

    Way to go.

  5. I was sleeved on September 10th. Went into the hospital at 7am and weighed in at 415lbs' date=' started preop diet at 471 lbs. I was wheeled into the OR at 9:15am. I remember transferring to the OR table and seeing a lot of busy people around me. The Anesthesiologist put on oxygen mask on me and said that he was giving pure oxygen and that is the last thing that I remember.

Next thing I know its 1:00pm and I am waking up in the recovery room and felt some discomfort but not bad. I mostly remember wanting to get up. Don't know why. Surgery time was 3 hours. They only needed to do 3 incisions. The Surgeon was very happy with the way it all went.

I got to my room at 3:30pm and went for my first walk. I did feel a little shakey but went all the way around the hallway which is 1/16th of a mile. I was told that no one had ever done that before. I guess ignorance is bliss. The next day I walked 3/4 of a mile. I guess another record. Who would've thought. The final day they required you walk 14 laps which is a mile, I walked 18 laps. Now I didn't want to disappoint :-). Hardest part was drinking Water but it is getting easier. Went home late on the 12th.

I have not needed any pain meds since getting home. Drinking is tough but getting easier. When I left the hospital I was up 20lbs at 435lbs but was 417 today. I know that I am lucky but I hope that all of you have as positive experience as I have. Good luck to all.[/quote']

Curious about the post surgery weight gain. What was he cause?
