    Itchy skin

OMG Lark, I've been dying! I have found 2 things that have saved me. (I woke up with bloody legs one morning from scratching in my sleep). 1) Olive oil. Take it to the shower or bath with you and slather it on. Rinse it off, don't wash with soap 2) Cover it all in a thick layer of Sarna.
  2. Maybe the disappeared to the "veterans" site that we're all not worthy enough to see.

    am i depressed?

I have been doing whatever it takes to get me out of the house. #1- I've learned to love the movies again. I didn't go for a long time because I stayed in because of my weight. Now I see something almost every weekend #2- I've gotten back into reading. You say you don't like reading, but there's got to be a fiction or non-fiction that would spark your interests. I do this at the library or a book store or outside if it's warm enough. #3- I've been spending more time with friends #4- Closest and cabinets purge. THE BEST WEEKEND PROJECTS EVER #5- I may be a guy but I treat myself to a mani or pedi or both every week. Usually when I know I have boredom time coming up. #6- Concerts. Book events. Museums Pick ONE thing you love in your city and go learn everything about it Just keep moving and don't let yourself get bored and stuck in your head.

    Calories

I'm on regular foods. Getting 70-100 grams of Protein a day and drinking like a champ. I'm one month out and have lost 25 already. I'm getting 700-900 calories a day (one all time high day of 1000). Does this seem like to much to anyone? I have little mini-stalls here and there but the weight loss has been consistent. I definitely have around a 4oz restriction. Or, should I shut my trap. Be grateful that I'm losing and not stress the day to day calories?
  5. 28 Days Later! One month! High Weight 298 Beginning of Pre-op Diet 290 Day of Surgery 275 28 Days Later 250 I haven't weight this little in over three years! This is one of the best decisions I have ever made and certainly one that I wish I had done much, much earlier! I want to thank EVERYONE on this board for their support. You guys have been amazing!

Eating 1/2 cup at 6 weeks out?

I'm averaging 4oz per meal eating every 3 hours. We have the same medical team. You're doing great!

    KOMBUCHA

I take TINY TINT sips and drink a bottle over the course of three days to make sure I'm good.
  10. When you discuss your goal weight do you give the number that your doctor said, or do you give your PERSONAL goal number. I find that I have higher expectations that my doctor. Like my weight in 2005 when I was most comfortable, healthy, and happy. You?

    Cramps

Anyone getting cramps? I'm left arm and hand have been cramping to the point of looking distorted. Today was my first day at the gym and I also didn't many carbs today, so I think that may be it.
  12. So I've been a good drinker since my sleeve. Was worried I was drinking too much. My doctor says I'm lucky and to stop worrying. On liquids and for most of purees I haven't felt the full restriction of my sleeve. So I was having some dinner and "eyeballed" my measurements. I have tablespoon fatigue and was grumblier than usual. WHEN THEY SAY THAT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "HAPPY SLEEVE" AND "HOLY S*IT WHAT HAVE I DONE" IS A SINGLE BITE, THEY ARE NOT KIDDING. They also say you usually only make this mistake once. I can reassure everyone that is highly likely. WOW. Just, wow.

    Sleeve Anxiety

Suddenly paranoid about leaks and staple lines. Besides major accidents and unlikely stories of binge eating after being discharged from the hospital, what can we actually do that can harm our stomach/staple line/cause a leak? Vomiting? Carrying too much? Straining? Or is it much more difficult than this? I know that staying on the post-op diet is a must and I've been very good with it, but I've got strange anxiety that every day things are now suddenly going to cause harm. Such is the nature of anxiety.
  14. Sodium comes in many forms, but table salt is #1! An increase in sodium causes you to retain Water.
  15. You're going to do great! Keep your eye on the prize! Time really does fly by!
  16. This is the age old story of risk management. Laura sees this as a dangerous path. Gone sees this as an opportunity to educate people. Both have their merits; however, I absolutely agree that it has no place on this forum unless we see some serious Gone credentials. Nutritionist? Doctor? Medical professional? If people seriously want a guide on how to chew and spit they can go to plenty of the pro-anna and pro-bulemia sites out there and read up all they want. You're assuming that people on this site are so stupid that they ONLY come here for ALL their information. 99% of posts I see on medical issues from member start with "I'm not a medical professional and I suggest you contact your's, but this is my experience..." I come to this site for support and help. When I clicked the post I honestly wasn't sure what "chew and spit" was until I read it. That's why I clicked it. This is not supportive of the pre and post op community. This is not healthy. Any guide on unhealthy habits is not welcome in my eyes. I'm sure that you're more than welcome to post this garbage on the forums of pro-eating disorder sites, so leave it there.
  17. Welcome to the boards! You're going to find a lot of positive support on here and people who feel the same way, think the same way, and go through the same things you do. It's so good to not feel alone in this journey. Walk walk walk. Sip sip sip. And post post post. You'll get to know the veterans quickly and the long timers are AWESOME! Congratulations on your decision!

    Compression shirt size

I wear the Spanx for men. With the Spanx brand you should buy the size of what you are wearing. I wore an XL when I was XL and continued wearing it as XXL. Now I'm back to XL and it's still great! Take care of the collars especially with the tanks. Getting in an out of them is like wrestling an anaconda and you can blow out the elastic if you're not careful.
  19. There's a good chance it's just me, but I imagine others have felt the same way. I'm worried a out scarring. I'm worried about loose skin. I'm worried about hair loss. Do you think that we, as obese/ former obese people are more vain than others? Do you think that our perceived failures pushed us further into obesity? Have our personal desires, realistic or not, led us down a path? Feeling philosophical.
  20. Does straining to have a BM put pressure on your sleeve? Basically, can it hurt my new stomach. I'm guessing no, but I've really been avoiding bearing down out of (unfounded?) fear.

9 day post opt -- rice pudding?

I'd go with no. It has lumps which are a no-go.
  22. I assume they gave you omeprazole or another PPI heartburn medication. Are you taking it as prescribed? Call your doctor. Your tummy is gonna rumble for a long while, but the heartburn can be treated now. Add some Gas-X for grins. It helps.

    Protein

Ok, I know, 60-80 grams a day as per my NUT. HOWEVER, do I HAVE to drink a shake? If I'm getting my Protein in can i skip the same shake. I'm SICK of them.
