Spooky22 got a reaction from raven123 in The girls are sad and deflated!
I found out it was time for some new bras when I reached for a bowl on a upper kitchen cabinet and the girls fell south out the bottom of the bra I had on! Almost strangled myself! I am 60 yrs. old the only plastic I may have adjusted is my neck. I am out 6 weeks, but have lost 45 pounds total, 25 of it since surgery. Poor girls will have to suffer.

I just turned 64 in October. My surgery is scheduled for November 20th and I start my liquid pre-op diet on Monday. Ready to do this.

My husband told me years ago that if I ever lost all my weight he would take me on a trip to anywhere I wanted in the world....I think deep down inside he thought there was a very slim chance that would have happened..But not anymore................
My plan is a trip to Holland during the Tulip festival.........Wanted to do that since I was a small girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know. Probably go for a long hike and have a good cry.
I've been big my whole life, I have no idea what to expect when I am not an overweight person.

I wanted to post this picture b/c seeing pics like this really helped me make this decision and follow through with it. I'm 6 weeks out and down 53lbs(25 lost before surgery) from my weight in the first picture.

I agree with JerseyGirl, slow and steady. I just turned 60 and am 5 weeks post op. I lost 20 pounds pre surgery and I have lost 24 pounds since surgery. I also have hypo thyroid, had a total hysterectomy 5 yrs. ago. With 44 pounds gone I am now off 2 of my 3 blood pressure medications! I knew it would come off slower than my younger sleevers but at least it is coming off which is something I could not do by myself. Hang in there

Thank you all, for your replies. It is nice to hear that
    1. I am not the only "three stiker"
    2. that other "three strikers" have had great success, and
    3. that I am losing weight at a rate similar to my fellow "three strikers".
If they have been successful at losing weight for the duration and have gotten to goal (even if goal was orignially ~140 pounds away!) I will keep my chin(s) up and stay strong.
Thanks, y'all. This truely is a support group and not just an information site. I had not fully appreciated the support until now. I am grateful and inspired.

I think surgery or not, those groups have a harder time losing. Slow and steady wins the race on this one! I'm 44 so pretty much in the same boat, but hey, why don't we try and be the exception! You can't compare yourself to other's losses, it is too frustrating and not a good indicator. Unless you have every detail of that person's medical, eating, exercise and weight history, we don't really know the factors that go into it.
When have you ever lost almost 15 pounds a month ? You are doing great, continue on your path and do your best.
I am 10 1/2 months out and averaging about 10lbs a month post op. My nut told me I might lose a little slower since I lost almost 60lbs pre op.. I wouldn't change a thing it's a marathon not a sprint and I'll ride the wave as long as it will have me!
    Good luck!!
