Wait! We don't poop them out?
I've had titanium screws and plates in my head for 5 years. In fact, a big chunk of my skull is metal. It's all good.

I can't tell if my posts cross over at all but wanted to update. I love Dr. Posner and I absolutely love Buffalo General Hospital Can't say enough about the wonderful care there. Never waited more than a minute when I put on my light. Otherwise surgery went very well. I had it in my head I would be nauseated and in a lot of pain. Neither happened. The pain was very manageable and never had nausea, just a little gas. Used a Gas-x strip I took with me and worked well. Didn't need a drain, guess I had very little blood loss at all. Had no trouble with the sips of Water and ice chips. Kept hydrated enough. Went down the next morning for the UGI and passed. The drinks for the test weren't bad either. I had thought they would taste bad but were not at all. It was just sips before each view they did. The doctor came in a short time later and said I could go home and within 3 hours I was gone. I ended up with 5 small incisions. I did keep up on my pain med so I was comfortable and since home have napped a lot just because I can (and need to). On full liquids till I see him net week, 1 ounce every 15 minutes morning till night with 60-80 gm Protein. My husband feels bad when he eats in front of me but I keep telling him it's alright, I choose to do this so it doesn't bother me.

I call BS on that, personally, as does my surgeon. Your easiest results happen in the first year or so, but that's not the end by any means.

Stop reading the crap that this 'woman' spouts. I don't even know her and she can put me in a coma.
Stop your 'friends' from referring you to her latest diatribes, too. It is doing no one any favours.
    Tune it out. Move on.

I love the Dream Board idea.
I started a list when I began researching WLS but I misplaced it once I changed phones. Time to write a new list.
Not all of my to-dos are happy. Most are, but as many of us know, many obese people have some big life changes to make, like continuing to live with toxic people. I know that part of my WLS this year was to kick my butt into gear to do some tough things I've waited way too long to do out of fear. I knew if I took control of my eating and my body that I would be strong enough to make the needed changes. I can't hide in my food anymore.
WLS is helping me be powerful, and I'm going to need that.

I'm almost 2 years out from surgery, and still losing in drips and dribbles, I've loved almost every aspect of having WLS. I've loved the smaller clothes, the CUTER clothes, the stares, the compliments, ALL of it!! EXCEPT! I would like to write a memo to the designers of pants, blue jeans in particular.
    Dear Blue Jean Designer People,
I love your product! It is roomy, durable, comfy, can withstand multiple uses without washing, it truly is the universal napkin! My only complaint (and it really is quite a serious and big one) is pockets. I have gone from a 24 to a 4. My legs have shrunk, my thighs have shrunk, all of the junk in my trunk...has shrunk. HOWEVER, the items that I like to carry in my pockets...HAS NOT SHRUNK!! When I was a 24, I could happily carry my cell phone, my keys, chap stick, I'm convinced I could have even smuggled small animals and children in my jeans pockets. I loved it!! If I didn't want to carry it, I popped it in my pocket! My HANDS even fit in my pocket!! Now, I'm lucky if I can squeeze a toothpick and half a penny in the pockets that you make for the size of jeans I wear now. I am thouroughly disguisted! Yes, I AM SERIOUS! I cannot tell you how many times since wearing size 10 jeans and under I have left my cell phone somewhere, been left with parched dry lips because I didn't have/couldn't fit my chapstick in the tiny fold of fabric that you try to pass off as a 'pocket'. I have wasted at least 16 hours of my life digging for keys that are lost somewhere in the bottom of my gigantic purse while juggling groceries, and simotaniously sweating/freezing the death. I am convinced that you are now in cahoots with the purse industry. Since I have been able to buy smaller jeans, instead of being able to cherish the extra funds, I've had to spend it on Much. Larger. Purses. I'm onto you, and your shenannigans! Don't think that everyone is complacent about your lack of design and the sham that you are pulling! I have almost enough mind to cut out your 'pockets' and sew in my own!! I'm watching, I know, and I am spreading the word!! Give me my pockets back!!
    Sincerely,
    One Pocket Lovin' Lady

Yea Bea on your successes and willingness to document theses challenges for us. Count me in!!!! May has been about the 230's for me so I expect June to be more about the 220's. My goal will be 220 by July 4th, but that may be a big stretch...
Of course that's why this is a challenge....

    2. When setting your goal, keep in mind that this challenge is only 4 weeks long (5 weigh-ins).
    3. Weigh in every Friday and post your updates here.
    4. Watch the data at 4th of July Challenge (click to be taken to an online spreadsheet) to see our progress as individuals and as a team.

    GOOD LUCK!
Note for you non-USA folks...even though it is not your country's Independence Day, it is definitely your country's "Fourth of July" (I mean, it's the 4th of July everywhere, right?!?) So here's hoping you'll think of this as a holiday to share with us and join in on the fun here. Happy 4th of July, folks!

I like Premier Protein - the premixed chocolate is all I have tried. They are low carb and to me are edible. I also like muscle milk light premixed.
I tried designer whey (mix from powder) and thought it was bad.
The theme for me is that i seem to like (the more expensive) premixed ones best.

You mean the kind of normal where you just ate what you wanted, as much as you wanted, when you wanted, and look in the mirror and be proud of what you saw? That normal? The kind of normal where you walked into a room and felt every set of eyes on you when your hand smacked against a chair because you misjudged how wide you are? Or are you missing the kind of normal where you're at the doctors office looking at your blood pressure and pulse and wondering how you're not dead, or seeing your A1C and blood glucose level and wondering why you're not in a diabetic coma, or falling asleep at a stoplight because the sleep apnea kept you from sleeping last night? Are those the kind of normals you're missing?
Keep your normal, and have mine too. My life is sometimes inconvenienced because I've had sleeve surgery, but I'll take it over the "normal" life I had over a year ago anytime.
You have been given an incredible second chance at life that not everyone gets. Take the gift, make the most of it, and enjoy all life has to offer or sit there and feel sorry for yourself - choice is yours.
