Any Jersey Sleevers?
Hi, Mom of 4: recovery is different for everynody. I was really weak for 5 weeks . Then realized that I am someone who needs carbs. I have a little potato each day and I feel wonderful. Go for it....you'll be fine. You'll have your secret weapon (your sleeve) to get you through the holidays!

week 6 meatball
Well..I just has half of a Wendy's hamburger. Mayo, ketchup, pickle, onion and lettuce. We'll see how it sits....I tore most of the top roll off because it was just too thick. My husband brought dinner home for us. I guess I should be grateful that he was thoughtful enough to bring dinner home. Sure wish he had opted for the grilled chicken sandwich. Hmmm.

After surgery ...
My largest incision was very tender. It was painful for me to take a deep breath. Being a professional singer, this was a problem. Just took it easy for longer. Maybe you should call your doctor regarding the deep stitch. I had staples. Hang in there. And take your time recovering,....be good to yourself. Don't rush it.

I'm embarrassed...
I go to LA Fitness and I felt the same way.....until I got smart. I go anywhere between 10 and 2...that's when all the seniors are there. They're kind, chatty and encouraging. Lots of them aren't in such good shape themselves. ....so there's no pressure to keep up or to look good. Love it . Made lots of sweet friends.

Just putting it out there, so 'dirty' little secrets may see the light of day!
I have a halloween sized Three Musketeers bar in my freezer. My husband and kids found it and commented. It's mine and I want it! Won't let them touch it......it's my emergency stash!I feel better knowing its there if I want it.

Depressing shopping trip due to BIG upper arms :-(
Well, I have the same problem. My arms have always been huge. I mostly stick to sweaters or stretchy tops, they are so forgiving. If I want a blouse or a crisp mens shirting look, I buy to fit the bust and then neatly cut the arms off (making a sleeveless shirt) then wear it under a cardigan or suit jacket. Or...buy to fit the arm and take the rest in...easier to cut yhe arms off. I've spent hours at the sewing machine trying to make stuff fit. Hope this helps.

Confused
Don't let them sabotage you! You don't have to eat just because someone made it for you. Talk to your Mom about what you can eat and tell her you really need her help. Maybe if you make them feel part of your journey, they'll be more supportive .

liquid protein
I just left TJMaxx with a bottle of Creation's Garden liquid protien. It's orange flavored. 32 ounces for 12.99. Took two teaspoonfuls ....16 grms protien. Just like taking cough syrup. Not bad.....this is for me! Those drinks and ahakes are ghastly!

Protein Fatigue
I had my surgery on August 19. Was also feeling pretty tired. Now that I am at the pureed/soft stage. ...I have been eating a lot of fish....it's soft. I had crabcakes, flounder, bluefish. I eat what I can and have the rest later...until it's gone. And I feel so much better. I just worry about getting my protien and water in. I have no idea how many grams I am getting. I just know my energy level has so improved!

CPAP issues
I am 25 days out from my surgery and haven't needed my cpap since I got home. I used to take it off in the middle of the night, too. Only wore it to humor my husbamd who hated the snoring. Seems snoring has subsided since surgery.
