I guess the high calcium is a risk as far as anathesia, what ever they would have given me could interact with the high calcium and cause my electrolites to go wacky. it was a risk to my heart,and uncontrolable muscle spasms. it was the anathesia dr that actually canceled it.So I have to take care of this calcium level before I can be banded. from what my primary Dr. can tell, it is probably hyperparathyroidism. Which would probably result in surgery on that. Removal of the BAD parathyroid/s. I am going to try and maintain low quanity of food, and also be very careful on what I eat. No pop, no snacks,no bread,potatoes ect. Of course when I get ready for the band, I will have to do the two week liquid diet AGAIN.... keep me posted on how you and hubby are doing. and feeling. Hey all, Has anyone out there had their surgery canceled or postponed due to high Calcium in their labs? I am sceduled for thurs the 30th and have had my labs drawn twice for high calcium. The dr is not in the office today and nurse did not know if he would cancel. thanks for any help that anyone can give me. Tomorrow am is a long time from now :think Lois

April, I will have surg on Aug 30th, and started my two week liquid diet on Thursday. My diet from My Dr is as follows. Did your Dr give you a liquid diet to follow? 1. I can have 4 liquid protein drinks a day. must be under 200 calories, and around 20 grms protein. I use the powder and liquid made by EAS.They are Whey protein.I find mine at walmart and target. 2. I can consume any amount of the following liquids, sugar free drinks ie...tea, coffee,flavored waters, srystal light. Broth that is reduced sodium. Sugar free popsicles, sherbet, jell-o. 3. In moderation, I can have 2 cups of the following, Gatorade, Juice, skim milk and diet soda. Two days into it and it is not to bad, I drink alot of water also. I just keep telling my self that this is the last time I will have to Diet !!!!! The band will be my tool forever. Lois

I have had the myoplex and yes, it is good. I tried the powder again today and drank it alot slower and it helped. I still felt a little sick, but did not throw up. Thank you very much for your reply. I know I will have alot of questions coming up. thanks again.

HEY ALL, I AM TO BE BANDED THE 30TH OF AUG, AND WAS GOING TO START REPLACING A MEAL WITH THE EAC WHEY PROTEIN. I DRANK IT NO PROBLEM, BUT THEN ABOUT 10 MIN LATER I GOT SICK TO STOMACH AND THREW UP. WHAT DID I DO WRONG? DRINK TO FAST? TO MUCH POWDER? ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS HAPPEN? THANKS, LOIS:omg:
