  1. My Psych Eval was great..actually both times. (I had to switch insurances in the middle of the process and had to see another doctor). I think you just got a rude person. Some ppl really feel like this surgery is the easy way out when they totally don't have a clue how hard this is. Good luck to you!!!

  8. I had to have a large mass removed from behind my intestine and was sleeved at the same time, I told everyone about THE MASS but not about my sleeve..I told my daughter & my bestie only. Then I came up with a great excuse about having a partial gastronomy because I knew the weight loss would be a tough one. Here's the thing..my family can be really judgy and other ppl can too..I figured starting my new life style would be hard enough without all the comments & opinions../also surgery scares everyone so I didn't wanna hear the you could die conversation a million times. I am so glad I chose to do it this way because everyone is cheering in my recovery and every now and then they say and wow you look great. I'm 29 lbs down since I left the hospital after being sleeved 10/30..I'm a slow loser but my BMI was 35.7 so I expected slow weight loss. I'm very happy and I wouldn't change a thing. Already I've dropped 2 dress sizes. And I'm not even working out yet. Released to start in January. The large incision on my lower abdomen from the other surgery slowed me down. Goodluck dear...remember this is YOUR choice nobody else's.

    Sick 6 days before surgery

A lot of ppl get sick prior to..I don't know if it's the stress or a coincidence, but just remember..take Med's with no aspirin or antihistamine in them (thins the blood) it's a no no a week before surgery. Drink hot totties w/Rock N Rye (that really helped me) plenty of sleep & OJ.. Prayers up ppl...I'm almost 2 months Post Surgery and I'm loving my sleeve. Good luck everyone. K
  10. Prayers up!! You won't be in a lot of pain. OAN "What did the sleeve say to the hand? Put that cheeseburger down! LOL!!!

    Surgery while sick

I swear I think everyone gets sick before..Lol! This is the 3rd post today. I got sick too..sleeved 10/30. Just don't take any Med's with aspirin or antihistamine in it..it thins the blood and they are not allowed a week out. You'll be fine by next week..drink hot totties with Honey Lemon & Rock N Rye. Rest..drink plenty of OJ and vitamins.
  14. LOL! 10/30 Sleever and my son thinks my noisy tummy is hilarious!!!

BMI 35 and insurance approved? ?

Checking in!!!!! My surgery was 10/30 and I am down 27lbs since I left the hospital. But I lost that right away. I went 2 weeks with not a pound of loss...freaked me out. I just started losing again two days ago...But I know I am smaller, my pj's that I wore home now fall down around my ankles ...Lol! I tried on 2 pair of jeans that are 12's and they fit me...tight but they fit. That's 3 sizes down from a 18...My BMI was 35.7 so I was told I would probably lose slow..my knees are already starting to feel better and I'm just so excited. I love my sleeve..it's noisy and sometimes it's not very cooperative but I love it!! Good luck to you!!!

  17. I was sleeved 10/30 and I threw up & spit like a pregnant woman for the first few days home. It will get better. I also had a few vomiting spells in the last few weeks but once I vomit I feel better. I haven't thrown up now in about 10 days and I'm good. The smell of Protein usually triggers my nausea..it's awful for me, but I'm still trying to get it down and taking all of my Vitamins. I've lost 27lbs to date and I'm very happy with that. I had about a 2 week stall where I lost nothing but now I'm losing again. I pray you feel better. I promise it gets better. K

    Sick 6 days before surgery

You should be fine as long as you don't have a fever, I had a cold as well. Be sure not to take medicine with aspirin, as it will thin your blood and that's a no no for surgery. I pray you feel better. K
  19. Nice to meet you too madaam & sweetvee!! Please keep me posted on your Weight loss adventures!!!
  20. Lol! That's great you're my sleeve twin!! Keep me posted on your progress. You'll be fine. Prayers up!!!
  21. Wow that was quick if you don't mind me asking, what kind of insurance do you have? As far as I know once approved your approved, they won't take it back. They just like to make sure you are happy and sure about your decision because ain't no putting that tummy back once it's gone. They say some ppl really get depressed and have regret after. But not me.:.i was sleeved 10/30 and I'm happy and fine. I've lost 26 lbs which is kinda slow but I don't mind. I just want to lose another 40 lbs. They said it might be slower for me because my BMI was in the lower side of high..35.7. I figure with time it will all come off. I would probably have list more if I was getting all of my Protein in but I hate it...SMH. But I'm trying to do better. I wish you luck and happiness. Take Care, K

    Terrible Guilt

Educate them, I had surgery 10/30. I'm doing fine, I'm 26 pounds down and I wouldn't change a thing. My BMI was only 35.7 so I think I'm losing slow got that reason but other than that I'm great! If they realize that it's not as risky as Gastric Bypass and how technology has improved the procedures I think they will be ok. I chose to tell nobody but my best friend because I knew my family would be the same way. But if you want this, don't feel guilty and don't let anyone else's feeling ls change your mind. You have to live with this not anyone else. Good luck and God Bless!!
  23. I was on mine..surgery went as planned..and I had a cathiter for my first 48 hours in the hospital

BMI 35 and insurance approved? ?

Good for you love...So happy for you! Those Med's are a pain in the butt! What a difference 30 or 30 lbs can make. No more HBP Med's for me either!!! Yaaaay!!!
