  1. Are those shakes or Protein drinks. All the Protein drinks I have seen are fruit flavored and zero carbs/sugar. I don't know about anyone else but some things do taste different to me. I can't stand taste/smell eggs now:( good luck with surgery. God Bless !!

These are called pure protein and they are like shakes. A serving is one can. You can check it out at www.eatgoodfeelgreat.com. That is their website and the shakes seem to be available at a number of stores.

  2. 1. People saying "you have such a pretty face"

    2. Chub rub

    3. Being scared to sit in a chair

    4. Getting to restaurants first just in case you can't fit in the seat.

    5. Painties rolling down over your roll.

    6. The only thing you can buy from Victoria Secrets is perfume and lotion.

    7. Standing in the back during pictures.

    8. Being embarrassed to be "on top"

    9. Everyone at work asking what your ordering for lunch

    10. Cute "big girl" clothes are hard to find

I could go on and on. I'm hoping to have my surgery in January! Say a prayer for me!

I have everything that has been said here, but most embarrassing is profuse sweating when doing something physical or in public..

Also because I already have four sizes of clothing, deciding which size will fit me when getting ready to go somewhere.

  3. I do not have a Lane Bryant credit card' date=' but I do have one for Woman Within and even at my lowest weight of 125 pounds, I wore a 34 DDD/F bra, so I will still need it. Lol[/quote']

I haven't had my sleeve yet but I had breast reduction s several years ago. I currently wear. 44c and some 42 or 44b. I have K-Mart near me and they carry Curvation brand and their own Pink brand of bras. The both fit great and don't cost an arm and a leg. Costs run between $7.99 and $12.99.

  4. So after two weeks of liquid diet' date=' prepping and planning for support and care for myself and my kids, as well as prepping myself mentally for this surgery, I woke up from anesthesia with no sleeve.

They found a tumor in the base of my stomach. I have to see a gastroenterologist and have a biopsy done. Once everything is ok and the tumor is removed I can proceed with the sleeve.

I'm sad, disappointed. I cried so much in the hospital, the nurses were so nice to me.

Good news is the surgeon said that from the look of it, it looks benign. Im calling the specialist tomorrow to see how soon they can get me in. Hoping for the best![/quote']

I can imagine how you felt. It takes so much to get ready. However, thank God they are going to take care of the tumor and consider your sleeve later. I had surgery date of Feb. 7 but got blood lots in my lungs. Had to wait a minimum of 6 mos to be considered again. I have an October 22 date. Looking forward to get it done.

  5. My breaking point came when I realized that I had been every size and could not maintain it. I have lost and gained the same 50-60 pounds forever, including high school. I come from a family of big people but I decided that for my bucket list, I'm 68, I wanted to lose 100 pounds and make my later years more fun and I would be able to do some things Icouldn't. I also can't sustain this weight as my knees , etc age. Plus, I want to fit in a dress by Herve Legare or a St. John knit . And just for fun, all the old men who passed me over for "Barbie Dolls" will be jealous. LOL

  6. I am glad to read this thread. No one ever mentioned Hair loss. Luckily. As an African American woman I used to wear a pretty bald look in a very short afro. I also occasionally rock wigs as my hair is already thin in the top front area (a male patterned baldness). Now I will at least be prepared to go back to my previous look. Thanks for sharing. I am per-op looking at surgery in the last two weeks of October.

  7. I was approved for Feb. 7 but I ended up getting blood clots in my lungs. My vascular specialist said I needed to wait at least six months. I am now cleared for my surgery. My doctor is Dr. Phillip Price at Mt. Carmel Bariatric Center Of Excellence in Columbus Oh. His assistant is calling me this week to give me a surgery date in the last two weeks of October. He is coordinating with the vascular doctor to insert a screen to keep any clots that form from traveling to my lungs to heart. He also indicated that the weight loss will lessen chances of clots in the future. I am nervous but want this bad. I am at 267 lbs and am 5'5".
