  1. I know exactly how you feel, I had to wait 6 months and I'm still not done. My last dietitian appt is Jan 17, I'll finally meet my surgeon that day too. People kept saying time will fly by, but the only time it seemed to fly by was when I was not on this site. I think I went the entire months of November and December without being in here and yes time did fly by then. Reading all of the success stories and post about everyone else getting their surgery dates, actually having the surgery and loosing all their weight gets you all amped up, anxious and impatient and then its all you think about, it was driving me crazy. So now that I'm closer to completing the process I figured it's ok to get back on here. But your day will come and you'll get there, we both will get there.
  2. I don't think it matter, when they told you the requirements did they say anything about age restrictions? I'm all that clear on how medicaid works in North Dakota but do you have straight medicaid or Managed Care?
  3. Congratulations, I'm so excited for you!! Have you started your pre-op diet yet?
  4. Yeah I figured the grocery bill will become more expensive. It cost more to eat healthy for instance after surgery I'm going to start substituting pork and some beef( mainly pork) for turkey products like ground turkey, turkey bacon ect. and turkey is much more expensive than pork, BUT the fast food and dining out bill will definitely decrease, so I guess it will weigh itself out.
  5. I am so excited for you! My final appointment with the dietitian is on the 17th and I feel the same way, excited about being sleeved and loosing tons of weight. Being denied is constantly lingering in my mind, I'm trying to block those types of thoughts. Once I get the approval I will finally be able to breath again lol. Keep us posted on your journey. Did you have to do a supervised diet for your insurance?
  6. Hey Rick Yes I will be there. This is the first semester in a while that had my Wednesdays free, so I will definitely be there. I am actually looking forward to meeting sleevers in person lol. Congrats on your weight loss, don't feel bad about loosing slow because you're LOSING and not gaining. I'm excited for you!
  7. For some reason I feel like this sleeve will change my entire life. I know that it will change my health and apperance, but for some reason I feel after the surgery I will not only loose weight but I will become more organized and my life will be more in order. Right now my life is fine but I can stand to be a less messy and my memory is horrible which causes me to forget important appointments, and all sorts of things. I'm thinking its because of my sleep apena and low Iron idk. But my mindset now is that after surgery, after all the weight is gone I will all of a sudden have a ton of energy and become much more neat and organized. Is there any truth to these thoughts, have anyone noticed that they had more energy and was able to not only take charge of their life but their household too lol.
  8. If you already have a Cpap machine and your using it I doubt if they will make you do another sleep study. They'll just tell you to bring your cpap with you for surgery.
  9. So sorry about all the typos. I'm doing this from my phone and for some reason I can't see anything that I type. So I apologize if any of what I said sounds confusing
  10. I am so nervous. My paper work regarding my Six month Supervised diet will be submitted I'm January and still have not lost any weight. Have anyone gotten denied because you didn't loose any weight on the six month diet.
  11. I HATE those arguments, I have them all the time with myself, just about every night rigth before bed... to eat or not to eat. I always lose those battles, but congrats on winning yours!
  12. What do you mean? Are you talking about medicaid?
  13. Omg thats how I feel now, I am so excited I can't wait and so looking foward to starting my pre op diet (February), because thats when it will all become real to me. Right now I still have this fear that something will get in the way because I am so excited. Congratulations on your success.
  14. Wow you look ssooooo much younger!!!! You look like a completely different person. You look nice, great job!!!
  15. Oh wow, you look good already after only two months. I always wondered would 50 lbs gone be really noticeable.
  16. Ikr, I think my best friend's cousin had it, because she was really over weight, she weighed at least 270+ at 5'6. All of a sudden she's dropping weight like crazy now she's around 140, and all of this within two years, and she's still losing. I keep asking my friend if she know how she's losing the weight, and she insist that she doesn't know. So I sent the cousin a message on Facebook congratulating her and telling her that I wish I could lose weight too, and all she said was thanx girl is all due to hard work. It's just hard for me to believe that, because most people that's this heavy usually bounce back and forth with their weight. It's very rare that someone will just all of a sudden up and decide to just take it off and keep it off without any struggles. With that being said, had she told me about the surgery I probably would have put more effort into trying to get it myself, after seeing someone who's successful at it.
  17. Good vibes is right!! I hope everything goes well for you. Good luck.
  18. Wow, that's great!! You'll probably get released on 1/1/2014, so you're right what great way to start the new year. Congratulations!
  19. It's funny when people tell you that your taking the easy way out, then when you tell them everything that you have to go through like never smoking, drinking soda, taking anti inflammatory drugs, getting sick from eating too much surgery foods, having to eat super slow, etc. Then they say it's too much. Smh
  20. I just watched Melissa's story the other day on Netflix. I wish they put the other stories on there, I don't have cable anymore. But yeah great show.
  21. No, I've already told a fair amount of people, I've had a little negative criticism, for the most part all positive. After surgery I'll continue to tell people when they ask about the weight loss. I am so excited and happy about about this and people notice this when I talk about the surgery so I think they hold back any negative comments they might have. In all honesty I could care less what other people think, especially when it comes to my health as long as my immediate family is on board, I don't care what other people feel regarding this matter.
  22. So were you too full to eat the rest of it?
  23. I started my six months at the end of Aug too. I've done just about everything except the pulmonary function test, which I'm scheduled to do that next week. I have no Idea what's next, I guess I should call and find out.
  24. I know, I feel the same way. I'm one month behind you...I can't wait!
  25. I don't know how to put the direct link on here, but if you can type in pics skin scars in the search box under forums, then look for the title "pics, scar, skin, and stretch marks oh my". The post is by sassafras, she has plenty of pics. Hope this helps
