  1. Thanks I was trying to figure out how to delete one. Do you know how? Oh yeah and do you also know the answer to my question
  2. I'm on a one week liquid diet. I have to drink 5 protien drinks a day, I just started Wednesday. Having to force five protein shakes down is consuming most of my mind so much that I haven't even realized that I'm not eating. lol But I'm not complaining so much because I've already lost 6lbs.
  3. I am on my pre-op liquid diet. My surgeon requires that I drink a minimum of five Protein shakes a day, the dietitian gave me a list of approved drinks and they all vary from 15g to 30g. So if I drink the Premier shake which is 30g I'm getting double the amount of protein than if I was drinking Atkins advantage which is 15g. I cannot STAND the taste Premier and I have a hard time drinking them, they taste like medicine and I have to drink them because I went out and bought three cases of them from Sams before I even tasted them. So anyway, I have only been drinking about 3 per day and I've been feeling horrible about it, because I've wanted this surgery for soooo long that I feel honored and privilege to get it, so therefore I want to do my very, very best on this journey. So I've been getting about 90g of protein a day with the Premier Shakes, is this good enough because if I were drinking five of the 15g shakes I would only be consuming 75g. I called my bariatric center yesterday and the nurse told me that I NEED to drink a minimum of five shakes or else my liver won't shrink and that just doesn't make since because as I stated some shakes has higher protein than others. I think the nurse was just trying to scare me into drinking five fer day. I didn't tell her that I was drinking 30g shakes, all of what I'm posting here didn't dawn on me until this morning. So my question is how much protein should I aim for per day? I know post-op I have to aim for 60g, but I'm talking about pre-op.

  10. I called my insurance just about everyday, and the day I told myself to give it a rest and calm down was very day I got the call of approval. I'm starting to realize that the waiting does not stop. I had to wait six months because I had to do a supervised diet, in the beginning those six months seemed like six years. Then I had to "wait" for approval which drive me crazy. I told myself that once I get the approval, the waiting is over because now I know I'm getting the surgery no matter what. Now that I have my surgery date, even though it's about a week away, it seems so far and its driving me crazy, it cannot come quick enough! I'm guessing after surgery it will be small goal weights that I will be so anxious to reach and that will drive me crazy on the way to reaching them. I guess the "waiting" won't stop until we reach our final goal. Good luck to you, I have my fingers crossed.
  11. I don't post questions on here often. I'm one of the people you described that like to search for my answers first. However with that being said, while searching, most of the answers I've gotten where from the "have anyone experienced this" forums. So if they wouldn't have posted them us searchers wouldn't find many results. So we really should be thanking them.
  12. I see that a lot of you get to eat on your pre op, The only thing I get to do is eat sugar free Jello. I have to drink a minimum of five Protein shakes a day, and the rest is Clear liquids.
  13. I too wish mine was Monday I'm scheduled for 2/19 and Rena's right that date cannot come soon enough! Congrats!!! Sending my prayers your way.
  14. I agree, she isn't telling you the whole story. Most likely she is stretching the truth, Although I've only been on the forum for about six months, I have read TONS of success stories on here and watched a ton of videos on Youtube and they by far out weight the negative. Even the people who have had complications say if they had to they would still do this all over again in a heart beat. This is why I started to limit who I tell because it seems like every time I tell someone they always have something negative to say too.
  15. Getting close! Have you started your pre-op diet? Are you feeling okay? The 19th will be here before you know it!
  16. Thanks everyone! I know waiting pain most of the time, but I have my fingers crossed for you all.
