  1. I started my pre opt diet today....and I have to admit at first I thought it was going to be ok...but I am absolutely starving. With my bmi only being 38 my doctor has me drinking two protien shakes and then one "Lean Cuisine" meal. I was hoping that I would be able to save that meal for when my family has dinner...but I am so hungry....any tips anyone might have. Surgery is scheduled for January 28th and I refuse to fail on this!

    Starting Pre Opt Diet

Thank you Webchickadee for that post...it was really up-lifting. I have also realized that I had put almost 5 hours between my first shake and my second. I need forty to make myself more aware. I also have a fatty liver and I refuse to let that end up stopping my surgery. I also went out and bought some decaf herbal.tea to help.curves the hunger. Ty all foe the great responses.

Sorry it took so long to get back...we ended up moving and just got thing finally settled here. I have my last dietian meeting next Monday and then my 2 psych evaluations...then we submit to insurance. Growing up in CR I always went through Allina Medical....so I found one out here. My surgery will be at the Shokopee hospital. How about you?
  14. How long after your last nutritionist appointment and psych visit was surgery scheduled for you? I have my 5th appointment with the nutritionist on Monday and one left at the end of October. My care coordinator is scheduling my appointment with the psychologist at the beginning of November....Things are moving fast! Just curious how long everyone's insurance approval took and how long surgery was scheduled after they were approved?

    I am embarrassed

I feel for you. Other than my husband and few close family members, I have chosen not tell anyone about my plan for WLS. I don't know if it is embarrassment or the fact that I am not sure how to discuss it. I have found in the past that even some family members were not open with my thought of WLS when I have brought it up. A lot of times there are questions they have that I just don't feel comfortable discussing. I think that if you decide not to tell anyone, then that is ok. Its your journey and you need to feel comfortable on it. I wish you the best of luck!! <3 Vel
  19. With two more visits with my dietitian left, I finally decided on getting sleeved! I don't know if I'm more nervous or excited..I suppose a mixture of both!! I have been reading the forums for a few weeks now before I found the courage to post and I have to say that I am truly amazed by everyone's stories and the closeness of the group!! I'm excited to move forward!!
