1. Hi y'all. So I had VSG surgery with Dr. Elias Ortiz on 11/08/2013. My experience in Mexico, both at the hospital and the Marriott, were positive. I flew in from CA for same day surgery and I couldn't have asked for better care. I'm so happy to have my sleeve. I'm down 67 lbs today with 25 to go to goal. Dr. Ortiz is a quiet man, but he cares. I think y'all are making the right decision by choosing him, and A Lighter Me. They are an excellent company. Good luck and I hope to hear from y'all on the loser side.

  2.
Hello my WONDERFUL November 2013 sleevers! I haven't checked in, in over 3 months. I hope you all are doing well and super healthy. Well, where is everyone at mentally, physically, and weight? I feel great, normal too. I sometime have low energy but it could be just lazy. I really need to get back in the gym too (confession: only have done about 2 hours of cardio/weight lifting TOTAL). Eating habits are still good for fear of gaining any weight but I AM A SLOW LOSER.... Here are my stats...

HW 295 lbs/size 24

VSG Day 277 lbs/size 22

currently at 223lbs/size 16reg (size 14 not breathing) total loss 72 lbs

Hair loss: just a little and no longer losing.

Gals, be firm with me tell me how I need to exercise more and I didn't get this far to start slowing down before my goal.

Thanks for listening and God bless you all.

Hi Rosana. Congratulations on your weight loss. I don't get to the gym everyday but when I do, I do 30 minutes of cardio and 20-30 of either weights, ab exercises or lunges/squats. I need motivation some times too but once I'm there I feel so great. And even once I didn't recognize the girl in the mirror! Hang in there and stay positive. 72 lbs is great. Keep up the great work!

  3. You guys don't know how encouraging this thread is! I was really beating myself up thinking I was a slow loser until I read everyone else's progress. I feel like I'm normal now! Down 46lbs. Preop weight 208 sw 200 cw 162. Surgery was 11/6/13 and I'm 5'2".

You're doing great! We all are! A loss is a loss, no matter how fast or slow. It's progress. Keep up the great work.

  4. This is my first time commenting so glad I found this thread! I feel like my weight loss is going slow. ..I guess it's really not though Hw 349 Sw 327 surg.wt 290 current wt 253... that's 74lbs since starting this journey (including 6 month pre-op diet)and 37 lbs since surgery... being only 7 weeks out and putting it down like this makes me see the progress I have made. .. but why don't I see the weight loss? (Even though I am fitting into my previous "skinny" jeans) That's about the only thing driving me crazy right now!

    Great job!! Keep it up.
