  1. You're going to do awesome. Mine is tomorrow, too! Let's do this!!!
  2. Bright_eyes, I did the same thing!!!
  3. I'm the 18th too? Anyone want to be buddies? I need someone to text and private message so I don't drive my family crazy. Lol.
  4. I'd love to have a surgery buddy to text and private message so I don't annoy my family. Plus it might be helpful to support someone else and not focus on myself. Any takers?
  5. November 18th anyone? I'd love to have a surgery sister to text and private message with. I don't want to annoy my family. Lol.
  6. MsKeeKee, I'm getting more and more excited every passing hour. But Monday I could be trippin out. Lmao.
  7. My friend had surgery and wasn't able to have a bowel movement for a while and then when it came time she pushed too hard and had to have hemmiroid (sp) surgery. She advised me to put mirolax in everything I drink to avoid what she went through. But if you use too much and aren't getting your liquids in, it could stop you up too. So I recommend two 8 ounce glasses of water with mirolax a day.
  8. I'm two days out from surgery and getting excited. I love my job, but my mind is not in the game right now. So, I'm keeping my mind busy by thinking about what I look forward to as I lose weight. 1. Not turning sideways in close quarters to avoid hip-checking someone. 2. Flying without thinking people are thinking "I hope she doesn't sit by me." 3. Weighing less than I have in 25 years. 4. Developing a clothing style based on my personal taste and not just what I can find in a 3x 5. Wearing clothes that show my upper arms without being grossed out by myself. 6. Going to my family reunion next June and seeing the faces of people who haven't seen me since last year. 7. Going to high school reunion. So, what do you look forward to?
  9. I'm two days pre-op. I started midway through October making some changes. I quit sodas and all carbonated beverages. Then I transitioned over a couple of weeks to decaf coffee. Then I created a myfitnesspal account to cut down calories to 1500 and to track my carb versus protein ration. I haven't felt like there is any food to say good bye to that I can't incorporate into my new life eventually, and this has helped me avoid the food funeral mind. Although I do wish I had taken one more meal at the all you can eat sushi place that I adored. Lol
  10. My surgery is Monday, too!
  11. I'm scheduled for the 18th! Only four days to get my liver shrunk!
  12. Some pain meds cause anxiety. Vicodin does for me.
  13. Hi!! I was hoping to find some "family" here!! I'm just starting this process. What about you?
  14. Thanks for telling us your timeline. I've been wondering how it flows. I saw my family dr and a nutritionist August 1. I have two more nutritionist visits, and a psych eval to go. I'm 5'9 and weigh 247. I have no co-morbidity except possibly sleep apnea. I took the home test but haven't gotten results yet. I'm afraid to lose any weight because it might put my bmi too low. I have Cigna too.
  15. Don't be embarrassed or ashamed. You were beautiful then too.
  16. My dr is Dr. Veninga. Anyone use him?
  17. Hi! Dr Veninga is my dr too! I'm pre-sleeve. How did everything go for you?
  18. I'm five foot nine and weigh 250 with a BMI of 35ish. This may sound stupid, but after I lose the 70 pounds I want to lose will I be able to eat enough to maintain my new weight? I have a very active job, on my feet walking and lifting. The dr said my resting calorie consumption is 1800 calories. Is there anyone else out there who is concerned about being able to eat enough to not get too thin?
  19. I'm per-op and my friend just had her surgery 8/29. Her pain was badddddd. Even in the hospital! My dr said I'd be on a morphine drip but her dr gave a shot every three hours which obviously wasn't good enough to deal with her pain. What pain med were you all on in the hospital? And what were you sent home with?
  20. Thanks, everyone. Seems like it will depend on my doctor.
  21. I have a question. I take an anti depression pill. It sounds like I'll have to go a while without. What are your experiences?
