The not being able to drink and eat thing is brutal when you move to soft foods because sometimes the food sits on your chest before going down and it can be extremely uncomfortable waiting it out. Still trying to figure it out and have been avoiding eating out as I figure out what I can and cant tolerate. Would hate to throw up at a restaurant.

Hate the new site, hard to see topics and navigate. Doesn't seem worth it anymore. I don't know why they couldn't leave well enough alone

WTF, just noticed my armpits look concave and isn't puffy like before. What an odd place to lose weight. Haha very unexpected NSV

Had to go to 2 work dinners this week and was so anxious about the whole thing. Checked the menu in advance to make sure there was something I could eat at this stage. 1st place was fine but 2nd place had a limitied menu so had to order an entree and nibble on the mashed potatoes. Was anxious about eating so little, eating slowly and in both instances taking most of the food home, thankfully no one noticed/said a thing. It kinda made me sad to see people eating burgers, bread, having desert and not being able to eat. I mean I didn't want it but felt sad. I now dread eating out and don't think eating out socially will be fun anymore.

Have been noticing a strong scent down there postop. When i sit down to pee it smells mediciny and right after I shower there's still a strong scent but not unpleasant. I haven't lost enough weight to get a thigh gap or anything so wondering what's causing this and if anyone else experienced a change in scent postop.

So had been stressing about not losing much weight since the surgery (about 4 pounds post op) but had my 2 weeks post op check up and found out my pulse is normal, BP has dropped 20 point and is almost normal and more so my BMI has dropped 5 points since the preop diet. Holy cow feel so much better right now and am so motivated to continue to stick to the plan regardless of what I see on the scale. Let this be a lesson folks, the scale doesn't fully capture your progress so don't freak out if you don't see the numbers you'd like.

OMG ever since surgery i've been letting these rip roaring farts out. Not only that but the smell? Lord have mercy!!!!! Even the few times i've pooped it's been equally as nasty. What gives?

Milk of Magnesia is my BFF. I had to call on Jesus, Mary, and Joseph for relief the 1st time and it was about a 3 hour endeavor after 2 MOM doses over 24 hours time. I cried a little

Dude, i think i almost burst a vessel going the 1st time, literally brought tears to my eyes. I don't have kids so couldn't judge if this was worse than childbirth lol

Have been absolutely plugged up since surgery. Today was the 2nd BM i've had in over a week. Hoping it gets better.

I smelled like a jar of filthy dirty pennies. No matter how many times a day I brushed my teeth, my breath reeked. In the morning, our bedroom had to be aired out from my all night exhalations. Soooooooo disgusting.
My mouth was disgusting on the liquid diet it was embarrassing. It hasnt been too bad post surgery its mostly my pits and lady bits. It even smells mediciny down there too ugh. Should have gone as a prescription bottle for Halloween lol

Havent been sleveed up to 2 weeks but the scale has yet to move. Haven't lost anything significant and i'm still at my pre-surgery weight. I'm wondering how long before I begin to see movement on the scale and yes i've been following the diet plan.
-
How that's very sporadic. How much have you lost so far if you don't mind me asking.

yup! I would cook Tomato Soup and put scoops of ricotta cheese in it that would just melt in my mouth when I ate it. Just eat slow and enjoy.
Oh My God that sounds amazing. I'm so doing this!

Guess I was one of those folks that thought the pounds would just fall off but it has been almost 2 weeks and haven't seen much of a difference on the scales. I gained 8 pounds after surgery obviously from the IV and it took a week before I returned to my presurgery weight, it's almost 2 weeks now so wondering when I'll start shedding the weight. Particularly starting at such a high weight, I thought I'd be a couple of pounds down by now. How long before your weight started coming off?
It's funny if this was me dieting pre-VSG, this would be the point were I'd go eff it and go get some pizza. Thankfully can't do that anymore so just gonna keep keepin' on.

Oh wow, lucky you.

I know everyone's diet guidelines tends to vary so just curious. How long before you transitioned to the pureed stage?

My birthday was a couple of weeks after my surgery. I had a massage, facial and pedicure. It was much better than cake
A day of pampering sounds fab! I think I might do this

Tomorrows a milestone birthday for me but can't Celebrate like I typically would because im still recovering from surgery and am on the gross Protein shake/soup phase and I think I'll have a meltdown if I go out and see people eating yummy food. Also my incisions are still sore so have been wearing baggy clothes and working from home.
I'm grateful to have had he surgery and hopefully next year i will be at the lowest weight ever and can have a birthday blowout in a sexy dress and heels. Le sigh!

What were some surprising/unexpected changes you experienced after being sleeved?

How was your surgery and how's recovery going?
Surgery went well and recovery has been pretty smooth. I need to work on walking a bit more but have been following doctors orders and getting my Protein in. Looking forward to being able to eat again but have no intention of cheating so it's just Greek yogurt, Protein Drink, cream Soups, sf pudding & Popsicles for now. Noticing my stomachs a bit rumbly/gurgly after I eat and have been burping a bit. My incisions stil hurt so still taking pain meds but hoping to be off it soon. If anyone has any tips for recovering quickly and getting through the full liquid phase please share with us newbies. Thanks!

Not a bad problem to have, imma right? Worse than people not recognizing you because you gained a ton of weight. Congrats on your weight loss, it keeps newbies like me motivated!

How many months after VSG/how many pounds did it take before you began noticing your weight loss? Like one day you noticed your arms where thinner or face looked leaner? Where there any areas you lost weight faster than others?
I have a chubby face and carry most of my weight in the stomach so hoping the belly decreases first.

After surgery, how long did it take you to recover, adjust to the diet and begin to loose weight? Your sweet spot being the time you'd healed, still loosing weight and had a handle on what you could eat/new eating style.

Hi Ladies,
Did you experience any changes in your monthly cycle post op? Infrequent? Lighter/heavier flow? I'm about a week late and I'm usually like clockwork so wondering what's going on.
