  2. I am slightly ahead of you, I was sleeved on December 23rd. My goal is 800-1000 calories a day,. I usually eat less on the days I do not exercise and more o the days I do.
  3. I have a Protein shake to start most every day. Primarily I use unjury chocolate Splendor, skim milk and ice. To change it up I add banana, PB2, or Torani sugar free Salted Carmel Syrup. I also use Chike coffee Protein Powder. Chike mixed with Chocolate Splendor makes a great Mocha Flavor. Some of the Syntrax Nectars are good, I prefer Fuzzy Navel I rarely have a pre made protein shake but when I do it is Premier Chocolate or vanilla. I found that the shakes I make myself are much better tasting

    Frustrated - Water intake?!

I downloaded a program to my phone called Daily Water. You can program alarms to remind you to drink. It does get better. Initially I really struggled to get in 64 ounces. Now at 16 weeks it is not usually an issue but I still need the reminders.
  8. Hello Yummy I did not have a puréed food stage per se. My nutritionist told me any soft protein I could mash up and chew in my mouth was ok. If I could not do that I had to put it in a blender. So the soft protein stage for me was fish, scallops, crab cakes, Greek yogurt. The world according to eggface is a website of a bariatric patient that has lots of puréed food ideas. I did find that initially I had to weigh everything because I was never hungry and needed to know the right portion size. The feeling of fullness did not happen until I was on a full diet, including dense proteins and vegetable at week 10. Once I could eat dense proteins I had no problem going 4+ hours between meals. Currently I am 12 weeks out and eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day.

    Meats with casings

I started eating an occasional sausage when I hit soft foods, about six weeks out. I have never heard about the "no casings" rule. I do not eat them often because of fat content but I do not shy away from them.
  10. I did not have a pre op diet. I was part of a six month managed plan that started at 2000 calories per day and ended at 1700 per day. I lost 42 pounds pre op and my BP and vitals were much improved. Surgeon said any liver reduction had been accomplished along the way, so no special diet.
  11. My shoe fit has definitely changed. I still wear size 13 but it is now medium instead of wide. nothing Fits!!!
  12. I lost 20 lbs in the first two weeks. My plan had me on full liquids for the first 4 weeks. I would not be worried so early in the process. As stated earlier, slow and steady weight loss is the key!

    Hate my protein shakes

I have a Protein shake to start most every day. Primarily I use unjury chocolate Splendor, skim milk and ice. To change it up I add banana, PB2, or Torani sugar free Salted Carmel Syrup. I also use Chike coffee Protein Powder. Chike mixed with Chocolate Splendor makes a great Mocha Flavor. I rarely have a premodern shake but when I do it is Premier Chocolate or Vanilla

    Low Carb or not....

I am 4 months past surgery and have been limiting myself to 50-60 carbs per day for the most part. As I have increased activity and exercise I have increased calories and protein, fats and carbs as a result. Right now I am at 800-1000 calories a day depending on exercise. Most of my carbs come from dairy, whey protein or vegetables. I have not eaten potatoes, rice, pasta or bread by choice. My weight loss has been steady. Right now I am losing about 2 lbs a week.
  16. Try PB2, peanut butter flavored protein powder. Available at whole foods

    Sleevers over 300lbs?

I started at 362 lbs in August 2013. On the day of surgery, 12/23/13 I was 320 and currently I am 253( 4 months out). I am 6'3" and have set a personal target of 230. But I feel like I've had a steady weight loss and made lifestyle changes that have helped immensely. I want to take advantage of this opportunity and continue to make the most of it. Where that will end I do not know

    Hungry all day

The key to long term weight loss is having that feeling of fullness for as long as possible. My program allowed for three meals a day and two light snacks, even from the beginning. Dense proteins are very helpful in getting the full feeling. Even today, 13 weeks out, I can only eat about 4 ounces of protein at a meal. snacks are a chance to get additional protein, add healthy fats and some carbs(50-60 per day). I was not allowed to add vegetables until week 8. Usually I am able to go 4+ hours between meals which makes it easier to plan meals, drinking water, etc. I have been consistently warned by professionals about eating too soon or " grazing on food". If you do that you will never be full and constantly searching for food. I would also experiment with the amount of protein you are eating early in the day. I usually start each day with a homemade protein shake that has 30-35 grams of protein. That usually keeps me going until a late morning snack
  19. Congratulations! I would keep the pick for future reference and motivation
  20. HW. 362 SW. 320 CW. 256 2 pounds this week, 106 pounds total, 64 since surgery on 12/23.
  21. HW. 362 SW. 320 CW. 258 2 pounds this week, 104 pounds total, 62 since surgery on 12/23. Lost most of my hair years ago!
  22. I would check with your insurance company about what number they use. I did a six month program and the insurance company used my beginning weight of 362, with a a BMI of 46. By surgery I had lost 40 pounds and had no problem with approval. If you consider that the insurance company requires the six month program to ensure you are committed, can follow a plan and are properly prepared it makes sense
  23. My favorite Unjury flavor is Chocolate Splendor. Mixed with PB2, skim milk and ice in a blender is terrific. I also make a protein shake with chocolate splendor, Torani salted carmel syrup, a section of banana, skim milk and ice.
  24. I was on liquids for the first three weeks after surgery. My plan required 4 ounces of water each hour, followed by 4 ounces of protein shake the next hour, from 8am until 10pm each day. That meant I had 60 grams of protein (Atkins, Carnation shakes) and 64 ounces of fluids for the day. It was boring but I was able to get in the required amounts of protein and fluid on a daily basis
