  5. I... I will admit I am scared. This is my first ever surgery and I don't know how I will bounce back. I have had a bad back for years so I know that pain. Bad period cramps so I know that pain but I am worried about the pain afterword. Reading some of the posts on here with people talking about how painful it is really does scare me. Any advise? Anyone out that that this was your first surgery? I'm 42... Thx

    New here...

Hi. New here too! I have my first appointment next week. My psy eval will be done on the 5 of November. Sleep test on Friday night. I'm down 9 lbs... 5%... Is what my surgeon requires... So I have 6 more to go... I would like to have it done in November because due to other obligations it works out better that way. But I may have to have it before the end of the year because if insurance change. We will see what changes with our plan thanks to Obama care. Fingers crossed that the deductible stays the same but I doubt it. Good luck!!

    Chronic lower back pain

Are u doing exercises to help with your core muscles? I in the in pre op phase and do hope it will help but I know it will never go away. There skinny people out there with bad backs as well. I think we are all looking for a magic something and we just need to listen to our bodies. But I know for me with all my lumbar a mess and chronic si problems it will not just go away. Remember you are more active now as well. That could be part of the issue as well. Good luck.
  11. I'm in pre op still and I think about that but I'm excited about being able to really life life to its fullest! We went to my in laws last night and there was food everywhere. I made a Protein shake before I left and drank it on the way. Had no carbs or sugar and survived! We had a great time. It was nice not being tied or thinking about food the entire time. Good luck!!! 15. It is in no way the easy way out. So someone posted this comment on another post..."I would rather have surgery on my stomach then on my heart!" For me if I tell someone in doing it and they make a comment that is my come back. That usually shuts them up because it is so true! For me my feeling yes surgery and life style change is hard... But living the way I am living is very hard! Not going things I want to do with my husband and son... That's hard! Getting my life back... I'll take it!! Good luck! Xoxo

Anyone From Buffalo, Ny Out There?

did you already have approval from IH? With my insurance you can't get approval until you meet all the criteria and then they give you approval. I wonder if this has changed because of the affordable care act. You should call IH talk to a rep there. Sorry this is happening. Xo

Anyone From Buffalo, Ny Out There?

From what I have seen they want to see that you have made an effort to lose weight prior to surgery. Most insurances now was proof to that instead of just your word. It's only going to get harder now.
