My surgery date Oct 5 and I'm in Tennessee, surgeon is dr westmoreland and having it at st Thomas Rutherford. A little nervous !

I'm having mine Thursday, my doc wants it because of my reflux issues.

I'm having a lot of reflux also and my surgery is next week. I have noticed since not eating any dairy for the past 24 hrs my reflux isn't as bad. I think I'm lactose intolerant because tmi I normally have a lot of gas if I eat dairy. So try it without dairy !

Are you going to do the surgery ?

I have gerd and I am taking omprezole 40 mg and today I say my surgeon and now he wants a endoscope test. I'm still having slot of problems with reflux and have a surgery date of oct 5 but today he mentioned that the sleeve may make it worse and maybe change surgery to gastric bypass! I'm afraid of having a bypass it seems really extreme for someone like me who has 70 lbs to lose.

I'm definetly not an expert, but I believe if someone conceives after wls that they become high risk. I do have a lot of experience with having high risk pregnancies though ! I have had 4 children, three being high risk.

Honestly would you go for the bypass if you only had 70 lbs to lose?

I'm sorry I'm no help but I feel the same way and my surgery is next week too.

My official surgery date is Oct 5 and now my surgeon maybe changing his recommendation and wanting me to have bypass instead. Having gastric bypass scares me!!

I originally signed up for the sleeve but my doctor said the sleeve may make my reflux worse do now he is recommending gastric bypass! Anybody else have this happen ?

I have blue cross blue shield and I have to pay 10% with a max of 1500. I haven't had surgery yet but I am thinking i will have to pay $1500.

Hi, I have been looking at this website since I started with the first seminar June 2013. I was so excited after the seminar, that finally I have found a way to permanently lose weight' instead of the yo-yo diet. I went thru all the hoops of my insurance and had a surgery date of Aug 14th. I went thru the 2 week all liquid diet and the night before I panicked!!! I thought could do this myself since I only had 70 pounds to lose. Wrong!!!! Almost 2 months later I am 5 lbs heavier than i started and now have a new surgery date of Oct 5th. For me after a diet its too easy to go back to eating what I was that put me here in the first place. Good Luck on what you decide!

OMG I am Oct 5th too, I didn't think anyone else's surgeon would be working on Saturday like mine.

I now have my date, Oct 5 (Saturday) I bet no one else has my surgery date. lol

I am official my surgery date is Oct 5(Saturday) :wub: I hope my surgeon is in a good mood. Anyone one else? Maybe the 4th ?

Hi I am also 5'1" sw 189 and pre-op. My surgery date is Oct 5 2013. A little nervous about being post op and having issues.

Hi, I guess I would belong to this group I am currently 39 yrs had 4 children and i currently weigh 189 before pre-op diet. My goal weight is 120, I weighed that 10 yrs ago and want to look like that again. My surgery date is Oct 5 th 2013 and everybody keeps looking at me and saying "why" are you getiing wls surgery? My bmi is 35 and i am diabetic, high cholesterol and have depression. I am hoping i can lose all these conditions along with my weight!

My official date is October 9th, a little nervous about recovery since i have a very active 2 1/2 year old boy.
