I have been on a liquid diet for a week, but no instructions to do clear liquids for 24 hours. Yep, all the docs have their own ideas about pre/post op diet. My surgery is tomorrow.

Family Affair by Mary Blige...gets me on the dance floor! and motivated...

Sounds like you're doing a great job. Your weight loss doesn't sound that slow to me. 50 lbs in a little over 4 months? That's awesome !

I'm a band failure too. Everyone's a band failure (for the most part)....I'm sure they are seeing a lot of this. Go in there with the attitude that you tried it, it didn't work, and you need to make a change. I'm hearing that some bariatric centers are taking out more bands than they are putting in.

Too much drama. Home is supposed to be peaceful and loving, and a place of respite from the world. Life out there is hard enough.

50 pounds since July 22, and he's not happy? uhhhhh, I'm not sure what the problem is, since you are obviously doing everything according to plan, and it's obviously working ! Congrats to you! As for the shakes, maybe try the unflavored Protein that unjury has and mix with crystal light, or chicken broth, etc. I haven't had my surgery yet, it's scheduled for Oct 1, so I am now in the process of trying different brands, etc. It's amazing the difference in taste...

I haven't had my surgery yet, but I too am having band to sleeve revision on Oct 1. Have you tried popsicles and SF Jello? Also my doc's first week diet says Clear Liquids, and not to be too concerned that first week with the Protein thing, just getting in your 64 oz of liquids and get the swelling down. His 2nd week is full liquids and this is where he says we need to start working on the protein requirement. Of course you need to do what your doc says..

I have a friend who had a blepharoplasty, and the doc let her have the eyelid tissue that was removed. I am having a band to sleeve revision, and hoping he'll let me have my removed lap band to take home..after all, I paid for it, right? lol

You may want to watch this video. He explains why it's so important to stay on liquids right after surgery. He shows x-rays too of a stomach right after surgery. You don't want to mess anything up..
