Felicia, I know, you do feel like that, but it does get better each day! Hang in there! Anyone have any good ideas for the Liquid Post-op diet?????? I am tired of shakes already!!!! Anything other than shakes and soup??????
-
Frustrated, thanks for the heads up on the tea! I will look for it. Sounds like you and your man are meant to be! It is always nice to hear when things work out!
-
Hi, Everyone! Frustrated, where can we find Senna Tea? Don't believe I have heard of that before? Does it taste good? Dini, I haven't been able to move my bowels right either since my surgery. Haven't gone yet, but I believe Lynette said it took her 5 days. I am taking a stool softener now to see if that helps, but with what we are eating, probably wouldn't go much anyways. Trystelle, I know what you mean about keeping up, it is quite a challenge!!!! nurse76, congrats on being full after a few bites. I can't wait to start eating something substantial. These liquids are getting old today! I feel hungry and hadn't up until now!!!! Becca, welcome and congrats on getting banded Monday! Same day as me! Hope you are doing well! jdhj861jr, welcome back! Glad you are feeling well! How nice your wife sounds!!!! You will have loads of support and that is wonderful!!!! Lynette, I know, isn't it nice to be in love???? When you are, you just know!!!! :faint:Yesterday and today I have had so much swelling in my ankles and feet. Last night, had to prop them up and my left one throbbed! So I called the Dr. today and he said come in right away. They did an ultrasound on both legs, but didn't find any blood clots, thank God! He said if I get any sudden pains in my chest and/or shortness of breath, call 911 right away and get to the ER. So, yeah, hope that doesn't happen!!!!!! Gee, my husband was giving me a foot massage this morning to help relieve them and the nurse says that is the worst thing to do!!!! Well, who'd of known that??? Tell us about you!!!! My name is Jeanie and I am 46 years old! I live in PA. I have 2 wonderful girls, one aged 23 and one nearly 21. I am very proud of them!!! I have been married to the same wonderful man for 25 years in January. He is my best friend and I love spending time with him (and my girls, of course!!!!). We are a very close knit family and love doing things together. However, the girls are getting older and my husband and I have a lot more time together, but it is good and kind of refreshing after all of those years of doing things around the kids! I have taught school for the past 15 years. I love what I do and I am ready to enjoy things more now that I will be feeling better! My life is GREAT!!!! No complaints!:whoo:

Sunny, Enjoy your doughnut! Eat one for me!!!!! Night to all and see you tomorrow!!!! Keep posting, we need some interesting reading for Friday!!!!!
-
Sunny, You are soooo cute!!!!! We would miss your explanations, lol!
-
:confused:Lynette, Has anyone heard anything from Laurend? I haven't seen any posts from her! Is everything okay? Kind of concerned!
-
Lynette, There you go!!!! I knew there had to be a way! I look through and answer as I go, before the old brain forgets, and then til I get done reading, I forget what I already wrote!!!!!!! YIKES!
-
Felicia, we are glad you are back and doing well! It really isn't as bad as you may have expected, huh? I was really surprised, much easier to deal with than I thought! Shwew!!!!! Sheelagh, welcome! We are meeting such wonderful people from virtually everywhere!!!! Phil, have a nice few days away! Always nice to go somewhere! Check in when you get back!
-
Sunny, I am soooo impressed that you all can read through this and table it all on one reply! I have such a hard time with that! When I try, I forget what I want to say and who I want to say it too, lol!!!!!!
-
:faint:Gladster, It is definitely not the easy way out! It is a lot of HARD work, anyone that tells you different should try it!!!! Oh by the way, I packed a lot and didn't use much. In fact, my husband didn't even bring the bag I packed into the hospital! So I used what I wore in and what the hospital had. Lynette, Nice looking family! I am glad you are so happy! Seems like you are well on your way!!! Good job! :)forgve70x7, peaches9, james2539, glad you are doing so well! :)trystelle, Good luck! It really isn't as bad as you might expect! :)Tinkerbell, I could so come up with something for you! I would love to have those options, lol!
-
Yeah, I was told that too. My doc says my reflux should go away and I shouldn't need my nexium anymore.

Clear liquids vs. Full liquids
dmtjet replied to jennyl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc said little caffeine or none, because it can dehydrate you as well! But he said occassionally wasn't a problem. I use Equal and Splenda as artificial sweeteners, because I am diabetic, but since my surgery on Monday, I no longer take sugar meds!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
:)Icybreeze, I like to sleep on my stomach too, but so far haven't been able to! However, I have been sleeping pretty well. Have been in my bed since I came home and other than using two pillows to prop me up, because with one it pulls way too much ... I have been fine and if I didn't have to get up to go to the bathroom, I'd have no complaints! LOL :clap2:My incisions look great! 4- one inch ones and one about 3 inches for my port. All are on the upper part of my abdomen and do not interfere with my pants or underclothes, which I am very thankful for!!!! There is one that can get a little agitated by a bra, but I have just been wearing tanks w/shelf bra. Works fine! IndioGirl, 14 vials of blood ... YIKES! That doesn't sound fun at all!!!!:faint: Lindaa, not sorry I did this at all! :whoo: Actually it is much better than I could have ever imagined! I have had thyroid surgery (which was by far the worse!!!), sleep apnea surgery, gallbladder surgery, thermal ablation, etc. and this is probably the easiest of those! Piece of cake!!!! Nah, maybe jell-o!!!!!! Diet, of course!!!!! LOL ckbw, yes, the more you can drink prior to bloodwork, the easier it is! Unfortunately, right before surgery that is much harder. Glad it went okay! :wacko:Lynette, you and me with the computer issues! My hard drive is bad in my new one and I am using an old one ... old and soooooo slow!!!! But better than nothing I suppose!!! They are to replace my hard drive within 3 business days, so we will see!!!!!! Computers are great when they are working, but a pain in the a--, when they are not!!!!! :help:
-
Welcome ckbw!!!!! Congratulations on the date! You will love it here, everyone is soooo nice and supportive!!!
-
Tinkerbell, that date change, just stinks!!!! That would have sooooo rattled me!!!! Hang in there! Janie, Congratulations on your surgery date! JenniferNaz, Good luck! It isn't so bad! :faint:MsPris, leg cramps are the worse! I haven't gotten them since my surgery, but I have had them. They are soooo intense!!! I usually down a handful of calcium!!!! Seems to help! I also take potassium and magnesium. :clap2:Finally, a big shout out to Chimboree for the wonderful powerpoint show!!!! Nicely done and quite motivating! I want to be on one NOW, lol!!!!!!!! :)Oh, thought I was done, but have to acknowledge a few more ... Lynette, Sounds like you are really booking along!!!! Good for you!!! May as well! Really isn't so bad, how 'bout it? I am glad it is over though! I hate thinking about stuff like this!!!!!! :confused:Laurend, Where are you at? Haven't seen much from you lately!!!! Hope you are doing well and just soooooo busy that you don't have time to post!!!! Dini, Babes! Anything new? Hope all is well and that you are still hanging in there! Seems like from what I have read that things have been a little better! So glad to hear it!!!! Keep us posted!
-
AppleBlossom, I know what you mean about coming home! Doesn't matter how well you are treated at the hospital ... there's no place like home!!!! Especially to recover! Glad you are feeling well!
-
Nichole, Sorry you are having so much discomfort. I am actually feeling pretty well. Sore, bloated, and shoulder pain. Gassy and bowels are backed up, had my daughter run and get me a stool softener. Feeling better this morning. Hope things improve very soon for you! Keep me posted!
-
Icybreeze, I am not allowed Advil, only Tylenol. Doc said forever. He said the other pain relievers will irritate the pouch.
-
Wrangler, They took my blood before my surgery also. They took for my doctor and also the Research Center. It wasn't a problem and usually I have problems. I never can go without drinking before bloodwork and my veins roll away and all, but I didn't have any problems. I wish you the best!
-
Lindaa, I was able to shower yesterday (Weds.) morning. I was banded on Monday. Then sponge bath at the hospital on Tuesday. Removed bandages and showered Weds. Really not too bad! Good luck!
-
Lynette, Hunter is beautiful!!!!! What a sweetie!!!! Yes, I received a card to show at restaurants and such that says I have the lapband. It is to go in my wallet! I am doing well! Gas and bloated and shoulder pain, but otherwise not bad! Doug was rubbing my shoulder and that really helps. Incisions look great and I was able to shower today!!!! What a nice feeling! Hope all is well!

:)Hey, back!!!!! I got home around 1:30 yesterday, found out my new computer crashed and so went to bed and slept until around 4:00, didn't sleep at the hospital at all! By the nurses' station and too much light and commotion all night long! IT is nice to be home! Haven't read the posts yet, very sore and not sure how long I want to sit here, but thought I would drop everyone a line! Not as bad as I thought it would be, but I am having trouble with my nerves and anxiety. I had this after my thyroid surgery too, so I am thinking it may be from the anesthesia. Hope it doesn't last too long, because I feel like I will go out of my mind!!!!! Lynette, Dini, Sunshine, Chimboree, Laurend, and anyone else who can do this, can update me on what I missed the last few days!!!!! I hope everyone is doing well and look forward to chatting again soon! Not sure how much I will be on, because our old computer is soooo slow and not sure I want to be on hold all day and crawling around on the floor to try whatever fixes the help center might have for the computer. Hope to have it up and running very soon though. I am lost without it!!!
-
"I'm leaving, on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again ... " :)Had to put that song in since you all thought I was some kind of pilot!!!! No, actually, only have to drive 5 minutes to the hospital, but had to post this! Hope all is going well for those already banded and those having in done today! Good luck for those remaining for this month! Talk to you all very soon! I'm outta here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:clap2:
-
:nervousOh and remember ... I need some interesting reading!!! And don't forget ... this time I will have my own port!!!!!! YIKES!!!! No laughing, absolutely no laughing!!!!!!! Next time, y'all!

:nervousHey, just wanted to once again wish everyone the best for this week! Dini, I am thinking of you Babes! I do love that!!!!! LOL Hang in there and give me a good report when I get back! You deserve the good things in life! ... don't settle for anything less!!!!! Phyllser, your grandchildren are beautiful ... your man's not bad either, lol!!!! But seriously, the children are gorgeous!!!! I have such a soft spot for little people! They are terrific and full of excitement and innocence! Lynette, thanks again for the words of wisdom and advice! It is greatly appreciated! Your little guy sounds like such a sweetie! ... kiss your booboos, aw, can I borrow him???? That is just too sweet!:kiss Where has Laurend been? Haven't seen a post from her! Hope all is well! She has been very helpful during these past few weeks as well. :DI will check back in as soon as I get back home, should be some time on Tuesday evening. Haven't been nearly as nervous as I thought I would be. Spent the day floating in the pool and my man took me for an ice cream cone ... shh ... pretty sure that wasn't on my pre-op instructions ... but it was quite tasty ... lol!
