DMTJET: My daughter was born here in London. She was born into a very bad situation. Children's Aid tried to work with the family, but they just couldn't get it together enough to care for her. She was born at 26 weeks gestation, and was less than 2 lbs. Poor thing spent 3-1/2 months in the hospital on a respirator, suffered 2 strokes. She briefly went home, but failed to thrive. So Children's Aid apprehended her and placed her in foster care. Kathy, how sad!!!! Makes you wonder how some people are allowed to have children!!!! It is wonderful that you opened your home and your heart for her! I am sure everyone involved is better for it! I can't wait to see her pic!!!!! How old is she? You must be quite a special family! Lynette, anxious to hear how your appointment goes!!! I am sure you will have good news to report! I get to go to my first support group meeting tomorrow night! Not sure what to expect with that, but thought I would check it out! If I get any good pointers or tips, I will be sure to pass them on!!!

jackie, best of luck! Can't believe the doctor's office didn't let you know they ordered it, but they do that sometimes! Still, not fun and you had to suffer through all weekend, not to mention worrying about being okay for surgery! You poor thing, you will rest tonight!!!! Wishing you are better very soon!

Dini, fill me in! What did the nurses do to you???? Where did you have your surgery??? Sorry about your back, Girl! Mine has bothered me a little, kind of stiff and sore. Can't wait til I can see the chiropractor, but I am sure I will have to wait at least 6 weeks for that!

Joann, Nice amount of weight loss! Keep it up! I have tried canned chicken this evening, mixed with egg salad, and mayo. Went down fine!!! I don't think I am to have that until next week, but I didn't have a problem. I actually didn't realize I shouldn't have had it, I read the wrong list, oops!!!!

Felicia, Wow, Girl, you are really doing well! Today is one week for me and this is the first day that I didn't have any shoulder pain and very little discomfort other than the bloated belly syndrome!

Dini, please do post pics of my little beautiful granddaughter, and of course, I do need to see my daughter!!!! Great for you losing more weight!! You are determined and you will do it!!! Lynette and Chimboree, My cyber sisters ... great job with the polls and cruise options!!!! Nicely done! I'm impressed you figured that all out! Dini, As for your dad, I understand that situation! That is why I have all of the problems I have with my nerves! My dad and I were close growing up and he was extremely protective and hard on me. I had 3 younger brothers and they did pretty much as they wanted, but me, no way, had to be in, better not be here or there, blah, blah, blah. Well, I respected that and my dad pounded in my head from the time was young, that family comes first, you don't disgrace your family, he would always be there for me, etc., etc., etc. Well, when I was 35, my parents were having problems. As I said, I teach little K4 children. Well, so happened we moved into a new school the same year. My mom suspected from day 1 that my new aide may be having an affair with my father, but I thought, no way, no one could do that!!! She didn't have to take the job, she had her choice!!! Well, this went on for 2 years and I was convinced, even though some things didn't add up, that it couldn't be. It was a very stressful two years. Never confronted her, kept it all in, but one day I got a devastating call from my father, swearing and carrying on, that there was no place I could hide, he would find me, called my whole family awful names, including the girls, which until this time, he appeared to cherish!!! We changed all the locks on our house and were ready to get a restraining order! How sad is that? Later we find out, she said I said things, which I hadn't 'cause I had no proof!!! But nonethess, I was caught off guard and began passing out, lost control of my bladder instantly!!! This continued quite often the next few years, throughout various ordeals, but til this day, I still have problems, thus the overactive vagal nerve ordeal!!! Finally, I have come to the realization that I am better with him not in my life, than in my life! Sad, but how it has to be! Every time I am around him, it is stressful and definitely not good for my health. He is now married to the, let's just say ... person, for lack of a decent term! These days, I surround myself with those I love and make me happy! I know now that I have to look out for myself in order to protect and do what is best for my own family! They come first! So whatever you do, don't compromise who you are or your morals!!! You know what is best and I am sure you will find it deep in yourself when you need to find it! Don't let anyone belittle you, you need to be around and strong for my granddaughter! Hang in there, Kid!

You are right to look out for her, I am so glad that you can see how damaging a bad situation would be for her. Some young people don't realize the price their children will pay for that type of life! Adam may grow up and get things figured out, but until then, you are right to keep that thought way on the back burner!!! Thanks for allowing me to be Anna's cyber grandma!!! Ash, Can you tell which incision it is? I know mine is 3 times the size of the other 4. There are 4 about 1 inch and 1 about 3 inches! My port is right above the incision! Real easy to find! Dini, mine doesn't poke out though, lol! And as of yet, haven't popped back up, lol!!!! Sounds like you have been a mighty busy lady! Wow, the steps and the baby!!!! Impressed! I went up a flight of stairs yesterday when we were doing some sightseeing and man, my shoulder instantly hurt!!!! Didn't feel so good afterwards!! Think it was just too steep! Won't be doing that any time too soon! Hope your little one feels better real soon! Hey, that makes her my cyber granddaughter!!!!! How cool is that??????? LOL I can't wait to have grandkids!!!! I keep telling my oldest daughter, that is getting married in June 08, that they can get right on that, lol!!!!! Nah, really wouldn't want them to rush it, but wouldn't be upset if they decided to either, lol! Chimboree and Lynette, I am honored to have you as my online sisters!!! It is especially important with your facing surgery that you feel well going into it! I have had luck with Nightime NyQuil, Coricidin HBP, and Vicks Head and Chest. But I am also taking allergy meds regularly. Hope you are feeling better very soon!:eek: Chimboree, you better slow down, Girl!!!!
