NewCC, I can actually drink it pretty quickly right now, though I am not supposed to and I try not to. I was told it isn't quite as important now as it will be once we get a fill, then it is super important to sip, sip, sip all day, every day! Or we won't get enough fluid!!!!
-
Well, Girls, the soup was not a hit, as expected!!!! Not bad, but not exciting! Don't know why I had to try it, except that I kept thinking I was missing something!!!! Everyone was raving about how good it is, just thought I had to try it, so many were using it in their liquid phase!!! Oh, well, did try, don't need it!!! Onto something else!!! Unless, someone has a better recipe and I didn't try the right one ... this one had cucumbers, cream, minced garlic and onion, salt and pepper, chicken broth, and sprigs of celery. Let's see and ... no, think that was it!:car:
-
Anyone make cucumber soup? I read about it in several threads and looked up a recipe for it ... I made it for tonight, but not sure it will go over too big, lol!!!! I may have it around for awhile, lol!!!!! I will let you know!!! Hubby's on his way home, he just called, so won't be long to get the verdict!!! It says to serve hot or cold, but I have a feeling they would rather I serve it to the garbage can, lol!!!!!!!:help:
-
Yeah, the water really isn't that bad! I don't mind not having soda either and I enjoyed Diet Caffeine Free Pepsi, but no problem now!
-
Tracy's Lapband If anyone is interested in the info I attached that totally screwed up the thread, it is this one! There is a lot of information there, especially if you need ideas on what to eat in each stage. Sorry again, Bandbuddies!!!:car:
-
Sunny, good idea to get your son to cut grass! Nice to get anyone to do anything! LOL Kathy, Your kitchen is beautiful and your little girl is precious!!!! She does look an awful lot like you! It was just meant to be!!!! Brandy, sounds like you are doing great!!! Princesswillow, Since you enjoy cleaning, I'll hire you, lol!!!!!! I can always find something better to do!!!!!:car:
-
Okay, I do apologize, I deleted it and mine seems to be back to normal!!!! Yours all okay???? Sorry again!!!!
-
Yikes!!!! Sorry about that!!!! Didn't look like that when I sent it!!!!!
-
The people I chat with on this thread are just so sweet! I don't understand how anyone could be unfair, unkind, or mistreat any of us!!! We are better people though, because these are the things that made us compassionate and caring!!! So we are still the winners!!!!!! Yeah, for US!!!!! (Besides, before long they will all be soooo jealous!!!!!) Look out world, here we come!:whoo:
-
Ahh, Lynette, you are sooo sweet!!! Kind, even when they are not so kind to you!!!! You are quite the lady!!!! Kuddos to you!!!!
-
Hi, All! Hope you are having a nice day!:car: Chim, sure hope you get all you want to get done today :)and Sweet Dreams tonight at your sleep study,:notagree though it is a bit difficult to sleep all hooked up to wires and KNOWING someone is watching you!!!! LOL, I kept peeking and looking at the camera and the redlight hue!!!! Just an odd feeling, then I wanted to make sure I was covered, so that nothing would accidentally "POP" out during the night, lol!!!!! :rolleyes:So of course, I had to keep checking that out too, lol! Lynette, sounds like your sister is overly dependent on your mom! :car: Personally, I am glad that my girls come to me, but also glad that they can do most things on their own. Shows me that I did okay and that have learned their lessons well! You are definitely the stronger one!!!! I am glad to have you as MY sister!!!!! :car: We seem to have the same taste in men too!!!! How cool is that? Two clowns, well at least on the cruise, they can entertain each other, lol! Not sure where we are with that poll, but if that is the case!!!! Kathy, I love your seasonal plan!!!! I could definitely live with that!!! I wish I were you Sister, I would watch your little girl for you!!! Gee, years ago, when my girls were in grade school, my husband and I got the chance to go to DisneyWorld free of charge, room, flight, everything! :clap2: We asked his mom to watch the girls for 3 days and take them to school in the morning ... guess what they couldn't do it!!!! .... because my one nephew was only a year old and she just couldn't take him out each day!!!! :cry(mind you, it was the end of February, weather wasn't a big issue and it was a 10 min. drive) Fortunately, two of my sister in laws chipped in and helped us out!!! :whoo: I sure hope that happens for you too, someone just chips in and lets you go, everyone needs a break once in awhile, no matter how much you love them! It is good for everyone, come back feeling refreshed!!! Keep us posted! Chris45, Congrats!!! jdhj861jr is our other guy, Danny!!! So Welcome and yes the goldfish does eat more than that, lol! Julybander, Welcome!!! Really isn't a bad operation, a few days of uncomfortableness, but very tolerable. In a week, you will feel great!!! Cazulay, I hear you on the dysfunctional stuff!!! I guarantee a majority of our weight issues are the result of mistreatments and unfairness, :angrywhich manifested itself in depression and the compulsion to overeat!!! Can't believe Texas is cool too!!! Haven't been watching the maps lately, or following the weather trends, but that is very unusual for Texas! I am sure you are enjoying it! You're not getting the 40 and 50 nighttime lows though, huh? Kind of kills the swimming pool temps, lol!:rain: Peaches, your egg in a hole sounds yummy!!!!:hungry:
-
I guess I will bite the bullet and do some housework ... if I have to, (sigh)! I will check back later! My husband is a gem! I am such a lucky girl! He is the sweetest man I have ever met and a heart of gold! Like I said, the only thing that gets under my skin sometimes is when he is not serious ... especially if I am dead serious about something and he makes it into a joke! I know he does it to try to relax me, because I do have nerve issues, but sometimes it enfuriates me!!!! LOL
-
I used to play online games, but now that I found this thread, this is my entertainment/relaxation!!! :clap2: I love it! Never did chatting before, but this is addictive!!!!! It is my new OBSESSION, lol!!!! I feel lost if I don't check it periodically!!!!! How sad is that??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Sunny, this thread is so informal, no one would have even remotely noticed a problem w/the shift key, lol!!!!!!! Don't envy you cleaning, but if you get bored and need more ... I know where you can find some!!!!!! LOL
-
Sunny, I live right outside of Johnstown, PA. Oh, we get all the weather here!!!! YIKES!!!! Some good, and some NOT so good, but overall I like it! I don't enjoy winter, it slows everything down to a crawl and everyone seems to put everything off until it is over, such as exercising, etc. I mean there are times that being inside watching a beautiful snowfall can be wonderful, but not so much fun when you have to go out in it!!! We get some rough winters!!! This summer hasn't been are usual though, we usually have highs in the 80's and 90's, a few close 100, but this year has just been odd!!!! Not sure what that is all about!
-
:)Sunny, Don't overdo it today on the cleaning!!!! That's what I need to get started on right now!!!! YIKES!!! Hate that! Same thing, every day! Gets a bit tiresome to say the least!!!! Won't be long, Hun! Nice that your mom lives with you and you get along so well! I am sure she appreciates you just as you are!!!! Hey, who couldn't use a little Sunshine??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:clap2:
-
Icybreeze, haven't had the leg cramps since that one night, so far, so good! I did have bloodwork done and they say my kidneys show not enough fluid, so I guess I will need to spring a leak, 'cause I already drink over 64 ozs./day!!!! lol Didn't make it to the chiro yet, but due to go on Monday! I'll let you know! Thanks! My back is still pretty sore, the low back.
-
Good morning to everyone!!! It is a beautiful day here:) (Thanks, Sunny!), but a little crisp, only 50 degrees and they say tonight could drop to the 40's. I think it is to get to 75 today though!!!! What a summer!!! Oddest weather, highs and lows, no in between!!! Sunny, sorry I missed you!!! Seems to happen a lot!!!! Have a great day! Thanks for the Sunshine!!!! Lynette, my Honey has comments like the "bandalier" one all the time, about everything! I don't know how he does it, but he comes up with these things on the spur of the moment! He is such a clown and always is the life of the party! I love him to death though, but there are times I have to say, "Now, seriously, what do you think??" LOL :cryYour family was rather inconsiderate to leave you and your family out!!! They could have at least told you about it and left you decide what you wanted to do!!! Your husband could have taken Hunter, if you weren't up to it!!! People are so crude!!! They don't even think!!! I guess they think you can't contribute to the good time, because you are eating small amounts!!!! Where's their head???? Just rude!:car: Someone probably THOUGHT they were doing you a favor, but again, you are a grownup and surely could've made that decision on your own!!! The bad thing is those hurts stick around for a long time, it is hard to get past them sometimes! You'll have to do something special with your little man anyway this weekend! Hey, and you'll have a better time anyway!:whoo: Laurend, and your dad ... I can't believe that either!!! I am sure he loves you, but seems like he needs to be put straight and hopefully it will be a done deal and you won't have to deal with it anymore!!! Sometimes we just have to get it off our chest and move on! I know for years my husband's family would make little remarks about weight, which were always directed at me ... my husband finally had enough and told them, if they want us there, the comments will stop, otherwise we won't be attending anymore gatherings!!! I felt awful, but it has stopped and they don't do it anymore, in fact, they couldn't be nicer!!!:car: Oh, Laurend, have fun on vacation!!!! Think of us!!! Thanks for the spreadsheet too!!! Lindaa, it does stink not to be able to have our favorite foods, but it seems to get better for me as time goes on!!! The results are awesome and when I think of how much better I feel, I really don't want it anyway! BiggestLoser, welcome to our thread!!!! Hang in there w/the pre-op thing ... seems like each stage has it's drawbacks, but well worth it!!! We can do it!!! MsPris- hang in there! Keep in touch and best wishes with everthing! Keep us posted! Phyllser, Congratulations!!! Hey, and I am jealous, I didn't have a Nurse John!!!!! How lucky are you? Hope he was cute!!! I am sure the drive wasn't much fun! I know when I came home, I couldn't wait to get here! There is no place like home! The highway just wouldn't have done it for me either! Especially, traffic jams ... I don't enjoy them on a good day!:car: dieka, perhaps spice up your shakes a bit w/fruit or cinnamon, peanut butter, whatever, make them into icy drinks, etc. Have you tried the sugar free fudgesicles or popsicles, I bought sugar free popsicles w/fat free ice cream in them. They were delicious! Do you like low sodium V8 juice? That gives me a lift too! dieka, nicely put!!!!:speechles "Lynette, Maybe you can ask them to please invite you to things and let YOU decide if you can "handle it." It seems so improper for them to just exclude you without any option! I think they think they are being kind . I'm sorry it happened." Good morning, Everyone ... who's missing ... Kathybad, Chimboree, Dini ...??????????????? Hi!!!!!!!
-
Okay, it takes me the whole time to post replies and then I am summoned to watch tv with my Honey!!!!!! Til next time!!!!!! ADIOS!!!
-
Nicely said!!!!! That is what I am going to tell my twenty something daughters and my husband when they want to know what is for dinner!!! Banded Teachers Talk - BTT* Just found this link today, by mistake, lol! But I know there are several teachers on this thread, so if interested, you may want to check it out! "Dini, this must be a latin thing...my mother used to do the same thing to me, except she wasn't skinny!!! She would buy a ton of junk food and give us horrible examples and then get on my case big time about my figure- how I would never find a husband ( she did!), how I had no clothes, how I looked old and ugly. I think she was trying to help me, like motivate me, but let me tell you it did not help me at all! Thanks for all words of encouragent. As my favorite heroin ( Scarlett O'Hara) says " Tomorrow is another day."" Cazulay, I don't understand people, especially mothers, how could the berate their own children! I don't get it!!! They say, usually when this happens it is because they don't really like themselves much and has nothing to do with the child! I am sure it wasn't YOU! Wrangler, I don't crush mine either and I am on some HORSEPILL mega vitamins, lol! I just do one at a time and those that I can break in half I do. It takes me awhile, but I do get them down without any problems! Laurend, thanks for the Matrix info! Lynette, hope you enjoyed the sandbox!!!! Chim, Dini, Kathy, Sunshine ... HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLOOOOOOO!!!!! :omg:Oh, and my husband just asked me if I was talking to the Bandaliers!!!!!!!
-
Whew, you had to be soooo embarassed!!!! :embarassed: I am sure something like that will happen to me or worse yet at Open House, in front of all the parents and their children!!! Yikes!!! I teach K4 children and the little ones would be soooooo freaked out!!! I am concerned about that, but they are also very sympathetic and loving!!! So hopefully, that would be the way it would go, lol!
-
I will check back in a little while! I am going to watch the end of the program! Hope everyone is having a nice evening!!!!
-
Honey, I walked out for a bit, there is a segment on the 1977 Flood on TV and my husband and I remember it so vividly! It was really a very tragic time in our community! Dini, I don't blame you at all for not allowing your mom to speak of such things to Annafrancesca!!!! You are totally in the right and that should never be done! It leaves such big scars on one's soul and it is such an unfair life sentence to impose upon anyone! Gee, how did you turn out to be so wonderful????? You seemed to have fought an uphill battle from the things you have shared with us! My life was not like that at all, until as I told you these past 10 years! I really cannot say I was scarred as a child, but definitely the past few years and no one should have that much power over us!!! It took me a long time to come to that realization, but now, I look out for me and mine!!! Not that I don't care about others, but rather, mine come first! Those that are out to hurt or hinder me and mine are not part of my life! Just how it has to be! I doubt very much if your cousin is anywhere near as wonderful as you are! I am impressed with your spirit!!!! Don't let anyone undermind you or make you feel inferior!!!! You definitely don't deserve to be in that position! See, I am your Mom!!!! I CARE!!!!!
-
Dini, you say your are the only daughter??? I can't believe a mother could be that cruel!!! I am sure she meant well, but Holy Cow, how demeaning and degrading! I could NEVER do that to one of my girls!!! How is she now that you have it done? I hope she is supportive! You need support! Sounds like Adam may be and that is good! Gee, Honey, I don't like that you have had to deal with these kinds of things ... they make for eating disorders and nerve and self esteem problems! Not fair to impose upon a grownup, let alone a child!!! You are a wonderful, pleasant, and beautiful young lady! I am soooo glad you are here!!!!:hat: I love hearing from you each day!!!!! I better get off of my soapbox, but things like that anger me!!!!
-
Well, I had a long day of running!!! But I felt good and got some good news!!! I didn't have to have my eyes dilated (I hate that, because they stay dilated, I get a headache and can't do much but wait!)at the eye doctor, because I am off all of my diabetes meds now! Also, I can schedule to get Lasik Eye Surgery whenever I want!!!! I have wanted that for soooo long, so I am definitely psyched for that one!!!! One more positive to chalk up to the band!!!! Gladster, glad you are doing so well! I have the hiccups too! They start when I need to stop eating! They seem to be my signal!!!! I heard another lady at the support group meeting say that was her signal too! So maybe that will be ours! Not so bad! I can handle that and they don't last long, just a few times and not big ones either, rather soft and gentle! I have had some rough ones in the past and these definitely aren't that! Kathy, I am sooo anxious to see your new kitchen! I am sure it will be beautiful! I know you have to be so relieved to get that done before your big day! Lynette, I hate doctor appointments too! Seems like lately that is all I do! How tempting was the pizza? We had it here a few days ago and it really didn't bother me ... and I love PIZZA! I ate the cheese and a little sauce too, but that was it and I was satisfied! Wouldn't have been like that pre-surgery! NewCC, Princesswillow, Iluvmyboys, welcome to our group!!!! NewCC, I sponged off the day after surgery and was told to remove my bandages, all but the steri-strips, soap my incisions with a good moisturizing non-perfumey soap (they recommended Dove) and showered the day after that. Princesswillow, I don't have any leakage in my incisions or even steri-strips now ... my surgery was 7/9. I barely know they are there now! Iluvmyboys, congrats on the rebanding! Nice to know that you were pleased enough to do it again! I really think at this point, I would too! It has already made things soooo much better! I feel good and happy! Nice feeling! Snag, 20 pounds is awesome! Congrats! Cazulay, panic attacks and I are old friends! I felt that way too prior to surgery, but honestly now I wonder what I was fearful about! This is the best thing I have ever done for myself! It really isn't nearly as bad as you might imagine! A few days after surgery under your belt and you will be feeling soooo much better! The nice thing is that you will see differences almost immediately after your surgery! lainy, Glad your spirits are better! I felt like that in the hospital, "Oh what have I done!", but honestly now, I have no idea why I felt that way! Just my panicky personality telling me, I should be upset and fearful! Really, it is soooo worth it! As of now, I would do it again!!! Can't help you with the bad breath thing, didn't have that one ... thank goodness! Definitely had the dry mouth thing though! Brandy, I understand your not wanting to tell anyone! I didn't want to either, but as it turned out quite a few people know and for the most part are very supportive! However, I know what you mean by some people you would rather not know, because I have experienced that too! I do not want constant reminders of what I am to eat, how much, and when! However, I was kind of embarassed that I left myself get to this point, but now, I feel more proud that I had the guts and persistence to go ahead with it! There is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of! At least, I am making an effort to better my quality of life and my health! I am rather pleased with myself! Tinkerbell, each day will get better ... biggest recommendation is GasX Strips!!!!! That and walk, walk, walk! jnkntrnk, Eating out isn't so bad, but you do need to go somewhere where you can order ala carte or Soup. I have found Wendy's chili to be just the right size and very filling. Kind of cool to be able to eat for $1.27!!!! Chili is quickly becoming my new staple! We went to a Family Diner the last Sunday and I got a side of mashed potatoes and a cup of chili! It was awesome! christy, glad you are okay! Gee, I had chicken for supper tonight and chewed the dickens out of it!!!! My doc said I could try meats cut into 1/4 inch cups and be sure to chew until they are nearly gone! So far, so good! I love chicken and would definitely miss having it! Marcyinak, no, don't chase chickens! Didn't your doc write that in your discharge papers, lol??? Sounds like we shouldn't be eating them either! Gee, the chickens are pretty safe on this new journey, lol! Oh, and I wish my doc would've used the patch for dry mouth!!!! That was miserable!!!! The worse part of the whole thing for me, especially when you get 1/4 cup of ice for the evening and through the night, because you can't have anything to they do the swallow test!!!!!! Dry and limited liquids, don't mix!!!!! Bettyb, your doing fine posting!!!! Not hard to figure out! Just post your thoughts and someone will respond! Dini, Chimboree, Laurend, and Sunny!!!!!! .... HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
