you can ask them to give you something before going into the OR... so you will be asleep before you see the or... I just had my Lapband removed in Oct....and they told me they were giving me something to relax me.. well the bed moved.. and that is the last I remembered.. I NEVER SAW THE OR....... I did not like that.... I like going into the OR and seeing all who will be in there....I like everone to tell me there names.. as they set you up.. I also bring my own Music to be played... AND I was upset because this OR did not have a CD player.. so MY DOCTOR HAS ASKED ME TO DROP off the Cd.. and he will put it on his IPOD.. and play it for me.. I believe it is my OPERATION.. my MUSIC..it will make things nice for me... mabe you should look at it that way. also..ask your doctor if you could be sleeping before the or.. that will relieve your stress.. OK, I WILL GIVE YOU WHAT MY DOC GAVE ME... He said follow this two week bariatric Diet Guide..to shrink the abdominal cavity and liver. You will Drink a Protein shake 3 times per day and have 1 small balanced meal. The meal will consist of: Lean Protein...3-4 ounces...Chicken, turkey, fish, tofu or whole grain starch....1/2 cup ....whole wheat Pasta, brown rice... Non starchy Vegetables...1 cup....All vegetables EXCEPT: PEAS, CORN, AND LIMA Beans... YOU can snack on veggie's through the day....like carrots, celery... have an apple...to get through...NO SUGAR ITEMS... I DO HOPE THIS HELPS..... jewelj....

Thanks Jewel! I am using the EAS Whey Protien powder. You can find it at Target. I mix it with 12oz of Water and blend it in my NutriBullet (those things rock, by the way, if you don't own one you should consider it). It whips it up a little bit and makes it lighter and air-ier... like a shake! And I do enjoy the taste of it as-is, I know most don't but I'm fortunate where it doesn't gross me out at all. Hey TRUCK, how is it going for you? My Date is getting close. I'm starting my LIQUIDS tomorrow.. My surgery is Feb 4th.. can't believe it.. I did want to get back to you and tell you that I have a NINJA ... which is the same as yours..just a different name...i'm sure....I did get Protein Powder from GNC, called LEAN SHAKE... in Choc/ peanutbutter..GNC BRAND..... I did want to tell you to look into a web site called Drinkclick.com.... IT HAS SOME Protein drinks that look good.. just in case you would like to have some change.. CHANGE IS good.. so we don't get board with what we are doing. My doc office gave me some good ideas getting the liquids in.. "like surgar free carnation instant breakfast... mixing it with a banana ... and adding some protein powder....also adding Flax seed is good....gotta keep that energy up... Dear Dublinwoman...do you live in Ireland? I will start my liquids tomorrow. My doctor asks me to do two shakes a day using.. some fruit and protein... with 25 grams of protein in each.. than a small grilled meal at night.. like chicken and some spinich..the size of the palm of your hand...plenty of Water....JewelJ

GOING SHOPPING... WHAT SHOULD i HAVE IN MY HOUSE THAT I WILL BE NEEDING.. I THOUGHT I WOULD SEE A LIST ON HERE AS TO WHAT TO HAVE IN THE FRIDGE AND IN THE KITCHEN SO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO RUN TO THE STORE... I HAVE SOME FROZEN CROCK POT MEALS READY FOR MY HUBBY... HE IS IN EARLY ALZHEIMER'S... SO I HAVE TO MAKE SURE HE IS TAKEN CARE OF.. AND I HAVE TO MAKE SURE I HAVE EVERYTHING BECAUSE I'M THE ONLY DRIVER HERE. THANKS FOR ANY ADVISE YOU CAN GIVE.....JEWELJ

eyoung, I was told 3 shakes, and a small soft meal.. like the size of the palm of your hand like "tuna" or cup Soup with some noodles.. but I can do jello and popsicles also.....I start this all on tues....they gaVE me some resipes to follow... Why did you have a problem getting protein shakes down? i'm about to start mine, and wondering why you had a problem? what are the shots? where do you get them? JewelJ

HELLO TO ALL!!! I have not been on in a while. Trying to get through the HOLIDAYS without gaining. I did well, only put on 5lbs.. I"m about to start the liquids... So I have been shopping for things like that. When I started looking in to this, it has to be over a year now.....My surgery Date is Feb 4th...Only in Dec did they mention about "pul "sleep study Doctor".. I made the appt, but it would not be enough time for me to go for a Study.. So the Doctor did "breathing test in his office" I did the treadmill and such. He than sent a letter to the Surgeon for me to have my Operation. YEA!!!! 17 DAYS to go... Almost can't believe it. I will start the Liquids on Tues this week. Hope I can do this.. Let me know if any of you are close to my Date. Would love to hear from you.... As always wishing you all the Best.. JEWELJ
