  1. I am in SeReno and had my surgery on October 18th with Dr. Ganser. He was very nice and was always asking me if I had any questions. I did have to do a series of 12 visits with a dietician before my insurance would consider it. And... well I am glad they did make go because I learned a lot before I actually started the surgery classes. I admit I have been having thoughts of regret because now I cannot just go out and eat whatever I want. But then I remember... that was the problem. So hopefully things calm down with my emotions.

I had mine with dr Watson, and I too have the same emotions. BUT I'm 45 lbs down and so far loving it so much!

  2. August 27th sleever here.. I am LOVING my decision to get my sleeve. There are times I wonder if they actually sleeved me at all.. but then there are times I know for sure. I have lost since the beginning of the pre op diet a total of 37lbs!! I have returned to work a week ago' date=' which has turned out to be more of a struggle than I thought it would be. I am on nights, trying not to eat during the day when I'm up so I can save my meals for at night.. its just all confusing. I'm still struggling to get all my Protein and fluids in.. but I try and that's all I can do. I can't wait to hit the gym.. going today to see what all they offer. I hope all my other 8-27 sleevers are doing well.. hard to believe in a week we will be one month out!! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> one day at a time..[/quote']

I'm loving mine too!! I'm down almost the exact same weight (36) and was sleeved the same day!! I'm meeting with a personal trainer today and I'm super excited!!!

  4. I see a whole lot of people saying they're not hungry- i am dde12... And i feel very hungry sometimes- though i'm following all the doctor's orders I feel very hungry throughout the day

I too feel very hungry. I am on the puréed foods. I'm wondering if the amount of hunger depends on the size of our pouches...

  5. I also was sleeved August 27th' date=' 330 pre surgery and today I'm 301.4. I can't even imagine what it's going to feel like to step on the scale and see it starting with a 2.[/quote']

I was sleeved 8/27 as well. I started at 324 and am now 285.. It is so weird seeing that 2 there. I've been 300+ for 7 years or more now, so it's a wonderful feeling!!! Good luck to you!

  6. I am 5 weeks out today and have not lost anything for almost 2 weeks. Finally it started moving this morning' date=' so hope it will keep going. I lost 21 lbs in the first 2 weeks after surgery, then nothing and even going up a few. I think it is Water weight and also starting on more solid foods. Good luck to everyone!!![/quote']

Thank goodness I'm not the only gainer! I'm two and a half weeks out and lost 20, but now I'm up two. It's discouraging!

    Good luck!!

  7. Hi fellow August Sleevers. I was sleeved on August 21st. (2 weeks out). So far I am thrilled that I made this decision. Sometimes though' date=' I get a couple of hunger pains during the day. I never felt those prior to the surgery. It's like my body is reminding me to eat. Before, I just ate to eat. I guess my body never got the chance to tell me before. Currently, I am trying to get down a few more calories. Anybody else experiencing this phenomenon called the feeling of hunger? LOL <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

Me!!! I too get them and I agree. I think it's just the bodies way of reminding us to eat. More Protein I guess...

  8. Hey guys! I was just sleeved on 8/27, I was only on Clear Liquids in the hospital, but now I'm on full liquids for three weeks, smooth foods for two weeks and then soft foods for two weeks. Then I get real food :-) it is going to be a long time especially since I was on a two week shake diet only pre op. so anyway. I'm feeling pretty good, the gas really sucks and it hurts A LOT, but I'm sure it will be done soon too! Good luck all!

  9. So' date=' I finally got the courage to fill out the paperwork to make my first initial appointment only to find out my insurance requires 6 months of a doctors diet. Ugh!!!!! I've been off and on phentermine for over 3 years with no real weight loss.

Did anyone else have to do the 6 month diet?[/quote']

I did not have to, but they said that sometimes if you have proof you may not need to do another time of it.
