  1. My cramps are more noticeable too. So are gas pains! I contribute this to the soreness my muscle walls have from the port suturing. It takes a few mos for these to heal...then you may also have very minute scar build-up which can also intense the discomfort! So I've been taking 400mg of ibuprofen during my periods.

I had gas pains that were bad last night too!!! That's ok, I'll take this since I'm getting smaller! :)

  2. I am currently separated from my husband after living with years of his abuse and his drug addiction. He asked another woman to marry him while we were still together, it just goes on and on. Anyway, now that I want a divorce and we have been separated for almost a year and I've started losing weight, now HE decides that he wants to make it work and that he still wants to be married. I bet! I look and feel the best I have in years! Too bad he was such a jerk during our marriage!

  3. I had to go in to the Drs office today because I was really active this weekend and basically hurt by port area. While I waiting to be seen there was a lady in the Drs office who had had gastric bypass surgery and she had gone from 228 to 123 pounds in 14 months. She was having problems not being able to eat enough, and was losing too much weight. She said if she had to do it all over again, she wouldn't have. That's scary stuff! I know that there is a risk in any surgery, but that just made me thankful I went with the lapband and not the gastric bypass.

  4. I didn't have port pain until 3 weeks post op. In one week it went from pinching and pulling to overwealming agony. I went to the surgeon and I had a seroma on my port (seroma is a pocket of serous fluid). He just stuck a needle into it and drained it. Talk about immediate releif! I had to return a week later and had it drained again. It should be totally cleared up soon.

If you feel that something is out of the ordinary just call your surgeon. I was ready to chalk it up to healing, but I'm glad I didn't because I was really suffering.

I am so glad you posted this. I woke up this morning and am still having serious pain. I think I am going to call my Dr this morning.

  5. My largest jeans are no longer an option! They are TOO LOOSE and look horrible! :) Oh darn, I need to go shopping!!! I'm already a huge Goodwill shopper because we have a couple of super stores in our town, so I guess I'll see what I can find this weekend.

  6. zeama I had my first fill today 8/15. Do you know how much they added, and have you had any trouble eating? Oh, I forgot you are on liquids. My Dr. doesn't make us do liquids unless you have a problem. I had a Protein bar and I felt really good for about 3-4 hours. I have 3.5 put into my 10cc. band. you are doing great, lol

I had 3cc put in and I am doing great. I have not had any problems and am loving the fact that I am not as hungry. I did go out to eat with some friends the other night and I had a bowl of brocolli and cheese Soup and I could not finish it. I LOVE the band!!! I wish I could have gotten this years ago!

  7. Welcome! It was my health problems that made me decide to do lapband. I had to start taking 2 blood pressure medications this year to control my high bp, and I just had enough. It really scared me that I may not live that long if I did not lose the weight. My hunger is always what held me back and the lapband has been a life saver! I am 5 wks post op and have lost 25 pounds so far and I just got my first fill today. I would do it again, 10 times over!

    Good luck on your journey!

  8. You guys are a Godsend! Thank you! I also have those thoughts running through my head "OMG! This didn't work". It's just scary when it starts coming off really easy in the first month and then the hunger sets in. The hunger is evil and that has always been my downfall. I can live without certain foods, I just don't like feeling hungry! I will post after I get my fill next week. :)
