I woke up this morning with the worst cramps I've had since a teenager, and I even have cramps in my back!!! HOLY COW!!! Did anyone else experience bad cycles after having lost some weight?
-
I pulled something this weekend near my port area and it still hurts like heck! The Dr looked at it yesterday and said I probably pulled that muscle, but man, when is this pain going to go away. I can't bend over or any kind of activity that requires a lot of movement!

I am currently separated from my husband after living with years of his abuse and his drug addiction. He asked another woman to marry him while we were still together, it just goes on and on. Anyway, now that I want a divorce and we have been separated for almost a year and I've started losing weight, now HE decides that he wants to make it work and that he still wants to be married. I bet! I look and feel the best I have in years! Too bad he was such a jerk during our marriage!

I had to go in to the Drs office today because I was really active this weekend and basically hurt by port area. While I waiting to be seen there was a lady in the Drs office who had had gastric bypass surgery and she had gone from 228 to 123 pounds in 14 months. She was having problems not being able to eat enough, and was losing too much weight. She said if she had to do it all over again, she wouldn't have. That's scary stuff! I know that there is a risk in any surgery, but that just made me thankful I went with the lapband and not the gastric bypass.

I agree 100%! We didn't put this weight on overnight and it will not come off overnight. I got a fill today, but only a small one because I've lost 8 pounds since my last appt, last month and he didn't want me losing too fast. I am fine with this. This is the way it is supposed to go.

bread is the worst!!! I love it, but try to stay away, because it hurts when it gets stuck. I think cutting bread out of my diet has been a Godsend for me. Helps that weight come off!

Well I called this morning and ended up going into my Drs office to be seen. He thought that maybe I hit the area and pulled the muscle that the port is sewn into. I'm glad that it was ok and I was also able to get my fill today instead of on Fri.

I didn't have port pain until 3 weeks post op. In one week it went from pinching and pulling to overwealming agony. I went to the surgeon and I had a seroma on my port (seroma is a pocket of serous fluid). He just stuck a needle into it and drained it. Talk about immediate releif! I had to return a week later and had it drained again. It should be totally cleared up soon.If you feel that something is out of the ordinary just call your surgeon. I was ready to chalk it up to healing, but I'm glad I didn't because I was really suffering.
I am so glad you posted this. I woke up this morning and am still having serious pain. I think I am going to call my Dr this morning.

I have switched to Decaf and now that I am used to it, it is not bad. I also feel better without all of the extra caffeine. I've even made the switch to sugar free Creamer.< /p>

I was banded on July 8 and today was the first time I have experienced port pain. It's almost a burning pain. I don't know if I moved the wrong way and hurt it or not.
-
I am glad that they caught it. Just like the others said, this could be a blessing in disguise. I hope your other tests go well.

Welcome Coco! I have learned so much from posting here. Can't wait to hear your success stories along the way! :crying:

I'm down 28 pounds since surgery and a total of 40 pounds since my journey began!!!
-
Here is where I started. The first one was taken in Dec 2007 and the second one is today!
-
I felt good too! Congratulations on your surgery:thumbup:!

I also had surgery on July 8 and just got my first fill last week. I still have hunger, but it's not as bad. It gets frustrating to see it not come off as fast it does in the beginning, but just remember that this is a slow process. Keep eating those small meals, and make sure you're eating high Protein so you'll feel full longer.

My largest jeans are no longer an option! They are TOO LOOSE and look horrible! Oh darn, I need to go shopping!!! I'm already a huge Goodwill shopper because we have a couple of super stores in our town, so I guess I'll see what I can find this weekend.

zeama I had my first fill today 8/15. Do you know how much they added, and have you had any trouble eating? Oh, I forgot you are on liquids. My Dr. doesn't make us do liquids unless you have a problem. I had a Protein bar and I felt really good for about 3-4 hours. I have 3.5 put into my 10cc. band. you are doing great, lolI had 3cc put in and I am doing great. I have not had any problems and am loving the fact that I am not as hungry. I did go out to eat with some friends the other night and I had a bowl of brocolli and cheese Soup and I could not finish it. I LOVE the band!!! I wish I could have gotten this years ago!

My first fill was today and it was totally painless! I got 3 cc and I have been on liquids today.

I got my first fill today and OMG, I feel sooooooo much better! My stomach was growling even as I was waiting in the waiting room. It did not hurt a bit. I looked directly at the ceiling and did not even feel the numbing shot. I feel full and I feel great! :Banane37: Back to liquids for a few days!!! :biggrin2:

Welcome! It was my health problems that made me decide to do lapband. I had to start taking 2 blood pressure medications this year to control my high bp, and I just had enough. It really scared me that I may not live that long if I did not lose the weight. My hunger is always what held me back and the lapband has been a life saver! I am 5 wks post op and have lost 25 pounds so far and I just got my first fill today. I would do it again, 10 times over!
Good luck on your journey!

You guys are a Godsend! Thank you! I also have those thoughts running through my head "OMG! This didn't work". It's just scary when it starts coming off really easy in the first month and then the hunger sets in. The hunger is evil and that has always been my downfall. I can live without certain foods, I just don't like feeling hungry! I will post after I get my fill next week.

My first fill is on Aug 13, and I am SO hungry right now. My hunger also increases before my cycle starts, so I think that is also contributing to it right now. Please tell me after my 1st fill it will get better! Right now I don't feel ANY restriction at all. Is this normal before the first fill?
-
Ok, I am getting discouraged here. I have been REALLY hungry. My first fill is not until the 13th and I feel like I could eat a horse. I do not feel banded at all. Is this normal?
Ladies~Talk to me about monthly cycles after the lapband
