  1. Had surgery on August 27th, spent one night in hospital. I admit that I was unbelieveably miserable for the first 2 days, but I improved very quickly after that. (I have fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease affecting my back) Lost 10 lbs pre-surgery, 17 lbs in the 2 weeks since. 4 inches from my waist!! Haven't been able to exercise much since the surgery - pain level is just now reaching levels where I could consider it. I do get to start swimming, which is the easiest way for me to get exercise without pain. VST date 8/27/13
  2. FibroDiva, why the long wait for soft foods? VST date 8/27/13

  6. My mom suffered with Fibromyalgia for years (before they actually identified the Syndrome) and got a bleeding ulcer from the meds they gave her. As a result, she had much of her stomach removed - basically a VGS - she lost over 100 lbs and most of her symptoms went away. 8/27/13 @ 52
  7. I discovered that the Topamax causes kidney stones and they built up fast and a large quantity in both kidneys. A very unpleasant lesson! 8/27/13 @ 52
  8. Did you have to get special pain meds to help with the increased/ different pain? 8/27/13 @ 52

  16. I want to lose the last 15 years so bad! I went from an 8 (I was a 4 or 6 until I had two children, then I was an 8) to 20/22 - I don't even recognize this body. I already realize that excess skin is growing to be an issue...
  17. I'm using Dr. Alanis - Southeast Houston Bariatrics - through Nova. Everyone has been super nice and has worked hard to get everything scheduled and approved. Dr. Alanis is one of the bariatric surgery pioneers in the state and did an excellent job of explaining the surgery. So far, so good.
