October Sleevers - Who else

That's so funny because that's all I remember too from the recovery bed was teeth! They were my mom's though. A chocolate blur with lots of teeth! And I remember the inflatable raft they use to move you. I was wondering "what the heck?" as I felt the air fill the "raft" underneath me and them move me, but I couldn't do anything about it. I made sure to look for the clock to see how long I was out but feel asleep again because the next thing I knew I was sleepily saying goodbye to my parents at 4pm then getting up to walk. I was lucky they were there, but I swear my mom is a handful! I wish I had taken pics of the walk back from the border crossing to the bank. It's through a parking lot that has lots of little sidewalks you have to go up and down. I would liken it to a New York City block- not too long. I was with a lady with a walker and I was sooo scared she or my dad would fall! Its not a bad walk if you have light luggage or someone to handle your bag if you overpack. I would have been miserable if I had to drag my luggage and probably would've hurt myself. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}- Dr. Ariel Ortiz at the OCC

Have been meaning to upload pics so I hope this works Going in where you sit and wait to be picked up once you cross over into Mexico Double room I stayed in the night before surgery. It had a safe in the closet and a mini bar style refrigerator in the room. My rooms before and after surgery had a mini bar in it, but my parents did not have the things in their fridge so they were able to put things in it. The hotel offered them a second one, but they didn't need it. The letter waiting for me at check in The water in the rooms! I was nervous, but I drank it! Hotel lobby. Very nice and there were always multiple bellboys/doorman in the lobby at all times- even when I was up at 4am! Lobby of OCC. Sorry I didn't get more, but there were always people there, and I did not want to photograph other people. My room at the OCC. I think it was room 4. The Center is in between other buildings. My mom looked out the window, but I never did. I didn't take pics of the bathrooms, darn it! There are no bathrooms in the rooms. There are 2 full bathrooms at the end of the hall (not far). You've got to get up to go! Me preop. No makeup allowed! My room postop at the Marriott And again, me and Batman! Sorry if viewing it is weird. I'm not the greatest at the pic uploading/layout thing- Nurses- when are you going back to work?!
Oh- and no management hassles-yet. But you know how that goes.- Nurses- when are you going back to work?!
One month (surgery Oct 7th back to work Nov 7th) but if I feel like I need more time, I'm going to ask for it. I'm an LDRP, well/bad baby, all-in-one nurse on a small but busy unit. I'm not going to be moving 200-300lb women with epidurals/post C-section until I feel comfortable doing it whether my note says no restrictions or not. That's the reason I shared my surgery with my co-workers too- I plan on taking it easy when I go back as well. I've paid my dues and if I go back and don't feel well or don't feel I'm getting the support I need, I'm going right back home and won't go back until I'm 100%.- October Sleevers - Who else
I felt the same way Lew. Right now I'm soooo over the liquid diet I had my first day yesterday where I felt like crap because I had some left incisional pain the day before after walking the mall - no biggie that Tylenol didn't fix but just enough to make me remember to take it easy so I laid in bed all day. I have 5 more days to go on it and would choke anyone who tried to eat in front of me. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}- Pureed Food!
Yes I am until the 24th. I'm so over it! I've laid in bed all day I'm glad your sis is doing so well.- Pureed Food!
I'm so jealous. Today I am officially over this liquid diet and the first day I have been in a bad mood. my energy is soooo low. Thankfully my boyfriend sent me some flowers today because I started not feeling well yesterday. Not sick just over the fluids. I have 5 more days! I keep looking at the calendar they gave me like it's going to change I'm going to find a stale cracker to lick (saw that someone licked wheat thins on another thread).- Pureed Food!
How has the puréed food gone? Any hits? Misses? {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}- What do you order at restaurants after weight loss surgery?

Let is know how it goes. Interested to hear another Mexico experience especially at Florence. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}- What do you order at restaurants after weight loss surgery?
- Heightened sense of smell...
I noticed preop during my diet. People would eat even crackers and I could smell them. Food scents would linger and I would have to move away. It was super annoying my last few days of work. Thankfully, I will be on soft foods before I go back to work.- What do you order at restaurants after weight loss surgery?
I'm so glad some people are saying this. I keep seeing people say I feel so bad about myself I ate 4 Cheetos or I had 3 french fries complaining like they ate a whole pie? Just because I got sleeved, am I destined to order grilled chicken breasts and veggies and supposed to feel guilty about whatever I put in my mouth for the rest of my life? That's not why I got the sleeve. I am so thankful for some of the real life posts on here. It makes me feel better. I may not have the same outcome as far as what I will be able to tolerate, but at least some people still seem normal. I just cant believe that people are eating chicken and veggies all day. I would love to have some chipotle a few months from now or go to a restaurant and feel normal.- Drains or no drains?
I had a drain for 3 days and was glad for it! It let me know that everything was ok. I liked seeing that the fluid was nice and clear for 3 days. When I went to get it out even though it was uncomfortable, I didn't want it out! Dr told me I was the first person to ever say that. When he took it out, he did it very slowly and I took deep breaths the whole time. The last bit that came out did burn and was an uncomfortable feeling, but nothing you can't deal with! We are stronger than we know!- What is on your menu today 5 weeks out?
What kind of baked chips did you use?- Bread products
I'm hoping to be so lucky! Sleeve of Steel!!!- Driving?
I felt fine so I drove the Saturday after my surgery that past Monday, five days postop. I had good reason- there was a candle sale I had to go to, my mother was driving me around but chose to share when she lost her virginity with the cable guy the night before (can you say mortified- me and the cable guy), and I couldn't stand waiting for someone to come to pick me up and take me where I wanted to go. Too independent for that. But I was also never on any narcotic postop- just Toradol and children's Tylenol, so that would've played a part in my decision if that were the case.- I finally get it; I have to live without carbs.
Cindy, I really don't mean to pry, but you would most definitely not be boring me with more details.- Pureed Food!
Wow that is so wonderful! I'm jealous I've lost 5 and had to do 2 doses of MOM before success! After my "success" today, I'll weigh again tomorrow Congrats! You get to eat something! {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}- October Sleevers - Who else
No you did not make a mistake girl!!! Though we have all had different struggles and outcomes postop, we must keep our goal in mind. You have to drink your water. I'm still struggling with my liquids as well but vow to do better. You are definitely not alone!! Be strong. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}- Is it legal to strangle someone while on the liquid diet?
I feel your pain. When I was at work, it was bad because my sense of smell seemed to be heightened while on my preop diet, and people would come next to me and chew and I was so annoyed by the smells. Also, I felt like strangling my boyfriend last night. Nothing was on tv after the Dodger game and he channel surfs to where- the Food network!! I'm like a week away from being able to have pureed foods, but damn! Do you really think I want to watch the Rib shack talk about how amazing his rib tips and brisket are and how delicious his BBQ sauce is? To his credit, he hasn't been eating anything but soup in solidarity in front of me, but he just left an hour ago and can only imagine what he's shoving in his face right this moment I totally think temporary insanity would get any of us off the hook.- October Sleevers - Who else
