  1. I've been going to the gym for about a month now 3x per week for 1/2 hour with a personal trainer. She has no experience with VSG or any other bariatric surgery. The first few weeks I felt amazing and powerful during and after each session. However the last two sessions I've had to quit early due to being severely winded, not being able to catch my breath, and feeling weak/dizzy. I don't think the workouts are any different. I'm not eating any differently, if anything I've been more aware of my eating. I'm drinking lots of Water. I think I need a nutritionist but can't seem to find one who will work with me, they all say they won't take patients who didn't have surgery at their facility. (I went to TJ) My question is, what things would make me suddenly more winded and dizzy? What changes should I make? For reference, I try to eat about 1,000 calories a day. I try for 100g of Protein but usually only manage about 65-70. I eat before I work out. Today I had a Think Thin Protein Bar before my workout, the other day I had cottage cheese with strawberries before my workout.
  2. I'm only one week post-op so of course I don't know if this is permanent but I can only hope! I've been waking up at around 5:30 naturally and can't go back to sleep! This is good news for me because I've always wanted to be a morning person. This is certainly a change from several alarms trying to wake me up only to drag myself out after countless snoozes at 7.
  3. Hi all! I'm in AZ also! I went to TJ last Monday for surgery! My friend also had surgery with me. I'd love to have a social group in the valley with other sleevers! I'm in the far west valley. MFP name: AbbeyNoFlabby add me Starting Weight: 240 Pre-Op weight: 217.8 Current weight: 215
  4. Sounds delish!! Love mint chocolate!!
  5. The bruise is probably from the antibiotic that they poked us with. I have one too, I wouldn't worry! Glad to hear you're doing well!! Are you on MyFitnessPal?
  6. Hey chase!! Glad to hear you're doing well!! Christine and I are both doing great!!! Are you heading home today?
  7. Having a really hard time getting water to go all the way down even if I walk afterwards. I had surgery Monday and just started drinking fluids today. Juice seems to go down alright but not water. Any tips?
  8. Yep sipping and walking!! The walking does wonders for the pain from the surgery gas. They've told me gas-x won't help that gas.
  9. I feel that my belongings are very safe here. There is a closet in your room and they shut the room up when you're not in it. Plus it's like a little community here, everyone is so friendly and you'll get to know everyone on the floor. So many wonderful things I could say!!!
  10. I'm with Garcia at Florence
  11. Waiting here at Florence can't wait!!
  12. Hi all!! Just arrived at florence and I'm all settled in. Just waiting for surgery. Wifi works great and I can even catch a Tmobile signal from the US both here and at the hospital so no roaming for me!! My friend who has Verizon and another girl with ATT can't get service from their carriers so they're roaming. The hotel is GORGEOUS and the hospital is very nice too!! The rooms are dated but nothing concerning!! I'm totally at peace with my decision to come here!! The pre surgical tests were very quick too, no waiting around for a bunch of different people. So far.... Fabulous!!!
  13. Do I need to bring anything to eat if I go to Florence/Marriott with Ready 4 a Change and Dr Garcia???
  14. Who's going to be in TJ on Monday?? My surgery is Monday with Dr. Garcia at florence
  15. I started early with two shakes and regular dinner until it was time to really start. I wonder if that was a bad idea?
  16. Going for surgery on Monday and I've been on my pre-op diet for 19 days. I can't seem to get enough liquids! My mouth is like fuzzy and dry. Any one have any experience with this??
  17. I'm the same day! I'm already down 16 lbs since Sept 1 when I started my Pre-op!! So excited to get the real thing going!! Add me on MFP if you want AbbeyNoFlabby

  19. Anyone else have trouble sleeping after starting Pre-op diet? I am usually a head hits the bed and I'm asleep kinda girl but last night I was up til at least 3am and even then barely stayed asleep. It's going to make for a fun day today!
  20. Sept 23rd w/ Garcia at Florence, there are three of us going together and we'll be there from the 22nd through the 28th because one of us is having RNY to Sleeve (I think) and has to stay one additional day. Bonus for me!
  21. I have a friend that went there and said she would do it again in a heartbeat!! She's successful and looks great!! She did say its in a strip mall though... But like I said she told me she has no regrets and was very well cared for!
  22. I'll be there for the 23rd with Garcia I'm sure we'll be seeing each other!
  23. Thanks for the input everyone!! I wonder if its more to do with age and less to do with amount lost??
  24. I'm having surgery next month. I'm 5'3" and my BMI is about 40 (240lbs). Wondering if people with similar starting stats who have already done this ended up with lots of loose skin? I'm interested to know whether there is a correlation between starting BMI and the amount of excess skin after the weight is lost.
  25. I want to be able to see down there to shave my private parts Shave my entire leg because there's less area to cover Share clothes with friends Wear a seatbelt and have it stay on the right spot instead of migrating to the top of my belly only stopped by my boobs
