  1. I was sleeved 8/28/13 and I'm still tired I still need a nap.. How long did it take you August sleeves to be back 100% or are you too still in recovery? Did y'all terry strips fall off yet or are they still on as well?

I think everybody is different, like everything. I was really never tired. My mom had to remind me to stay still "you just had surgery" she said.. And she wouldn't let me do anything, I love her. I didn't really nap at all.

The hardest day for me, of course, was day 1. Other than that it's been unbelievably easy. No pain, a little nausea rarely though. I went swimming for the first time yesterday and stationary bike felt good, I was a little tired after that.

    My surg was on 8/27.

I'm a nurse, it's my 2nd week back at work and it's ok. So grateful that things had been working out this way. I was expecting a harder recovery but I'm not complaining. SO BLESSED!!

    Sending everyone good positive vives

  2. I forgot I can't "gulp" Water and on Sunday while running errands I had forgot my handy candy cup that doesn't allow gulping so I got a bottle of water at the gas station and took two giant drinks and the pain didn't hit until the second was on its way down. Needless to say I switched back to my cup after that.

Well, I'm more worried about not being able to eat the grape since I'm not supposed to eat any solids for another 4 weeks. I don't want to have eruption of the staples :/

  3. I hope so

Yeah, I didn't loose any weight for 8 days and that was right after the Surg. But now it's starting to move down again at about 3/4 lb a day BUT also remember that someone who's 300+ lbs is gonna drop much more weight than someone who's 200+ you know. So really you can't compare yourself to others. Make sure you eat so you can keep your metabolism going and get enough Protein so you don't loose muscle.

Pretty soon you'll be sharing your before and after pics ; )

    Good luck

  4. Well yes, the stitch dissolves but when it does that tension there releases so it feels like a pop. It can happen when you stretch or sneeze or if you're sleep you prob won't feel it but you'll know cus that "dent" will be gone and it would feel so much better.

I was told it would happens around 2 after surgery. I'm almost there so I can't wait.

  5. Hi Jules' date=' not to be too TMI, but have you had a good BM lately? My weight stayed the same for several days, I felt sluggish because I hadn't had a decent BM. My doc told me to take some milk of magnesia. It worked. Afterwards, I have much more energy and I've been losing steadily.

    [/quote']

Hi LadyJay, I'm having that problem... No BM :/ My sleeve was exactly a week ago today. I've tried the benefit, Miralax, andoday i did take a total of 4 tablespoons of Milk of Mag. I'm just so desperate at this point i don't know what else to do. Drinking enough Water and still on liquid diet. I don't know what else to do... Ideas?

  6. Even though we just have tiny little scars' date=' we have had MAJOR surgery. This will take time to heal. There will be bruising internally and externally, there will be a lot of swelling. This will not go down in just days, it will take weeks or even months to completely heal. We do need to be patient with this and give our new sleeves time to heal. Some of the people who have had big losses may have had more to lose, or they may be carrying more Fluid than you, they may have muscle wasting instead of just fat loss. Try not to compare yourselves to them, we are all different. When was the last time you consistently lost two lbs or more each week? I have never consistently lost large amounts for a long time, I am thrilled to be losing two pounds a week!

I had my surgery on August 7th. Today is the first day where I actually feel good about my sleeve, where I understand what it is doing for me and what I have to do for it. It all takes time and patience and there are a multiple of minor inconveniences along the way. I do feel for you all but I do think in a few weeks you will be past this stage and look back on your posts and wonder what all the fuss was about..[/quote']

    Exactly!!

  7. Sounds really great! I have been relying on tylenol for the most part' date=' but once a day my muscle wall really starts to ache and than I go to the stronger stuff. I was pretty miserable earlier, but had a lactose free Soup for dinner and I feel absolutely amazing. I am hoping this is a turning point. My Water is good, I hit my goal yesterday, I am short today. I bought lactaid and soy milk. I am going to give that a whirl tomorrow! Hope all continues well![/quote']

Hmmm, I'm surprised you've had mash potatoes already!! My doc has me on a liquid diet ONLY for 3 weeks. I would double check cus of the danger of eruption.

  8. I can't believe I did it. Had the sleeve yesterday and I'm not gonna lie the first 24 hrs we're thought. But, mainly because of the gas so I walked, walked and walked every 2-3 hrs and took some gas x I'm feeling sooo much better. I really don't gave that much pain or nausea. I've only had to take one dose of pain meds and nothing for nausea.

  9. To bigbolo, don't get discouraged. Stick to a 1200 call diet. I've lost 10 lbs in 1 week. What really helped me is an app called "lose it". I log everything, you can scan your food like when you drink a Protein Shake or bar and you can also search them. I didn't realize how just logging the stuff and knowing what you put in your body helps. And of course after losing 10 in 1 week it just gives me the motivation to keep going. Goff luck to you!!!
