    Valentine's Challenge

I'm in too! These keep me motivated!
  4. I need some advice!!! I haven't told people at work about the surgery (only 1 person who I am friends with outside of work knows). I have lots of reasons for that, and it's the decision I've made. My medical history is not the concern of my co-workers. However, there is this one staff assistant in our department who DAILY asks me what i'm doing in a very confrontational way. I say the same thing (all truths) ....lots of Protein and Water, few carbs, exercise. Every.Single.Day....she presses me...like she doesn't believe me. When we have work lunches she will call me out and make some kind of snide or sarcastic comment about how much I am (not) eating. It's super annoying. This morning she cornered me when I took some of my exams over for her to copy. She started with, "what did you eat exactly yesterday??" "How much more weight do you want to lose???" "What is your goal weight exactly?" "Do you think you're being healthy??" And on and on. It's honestly getting to the point where I might have to just say something. I am normally a very nice person and I don't like to make people feel badly, but what she is doing is incredibly rude. I would "MAYBE" expect it from someone I counted as a friend, but I barely know her. How would you address the situation or would you just let it go???

Food ideas to bring to work?

I also do some "pre-cooking" on the weekend so that I have lunches to take during the week because I also don't like spending for lunch out when I'm only eating a few bites of it. I've done the chicken breasts divided individually wrapped like someone else said. Chicken salad, egg salad, hard boiled eggs (pickled or not), frozen meatballs individually cooked, chili, etc.
  6. Funny...I just called my surgeon about this. He said for the long term to do benefiber every day, but to get things moving to use a stool softener. I had been using miralax and colace together before calling him and he said he would prefer me not to use the miralax. Weird because I thought that was pretty safe. He said it was ok to continue the colace and add benefiber. I wish these doctors could all get together and make their minds up on a single recommendation! LOL
  7. I guess everyone is different. I never once had any gas pain. The pain from my surgery was very minimal. The biggest thing for me was some pain in my arm from the way it was during the surgery and that wasn't even related to what you are talking about...lol.

    Premier protein

I've never had that problem. In fact it is the only brand I can really tolerate. maybe you drank it too fast? Or maybe it was just a bad indigestion day? Did you miss your hb meds that day or the day before?

    Hiccups!

    I get hiccups when I'm full :-)
  13. I went back after two weeks. I have predominantly an office job, plus teaching college classes, so not very physically demanding. I did ok, but I really could have used one more week energy wise.
  14. At 3 months post op I have lost 65 pounds and 51% of my excess weight. I have more energy, and am so much happier. I have not regretted this decision for one minute, and Celebrate my progress every month when I do my monthly check in pics. Loving my sleeve!!! You'll probably need to click on the thumbnails to make them big enough. :-)

    *September Sleevers Check In*

My surgery was Sept 12th. I'm doing pretty well . I'm hoping to make it to 210 by New Years. At 3 months I lost 51% of excess weight & 65 pounds. Surgery Weight: 278.4 Current Weight: 213
  17. I didn't gave it during surgery but it started very unexpectedly 2 days post op. I hear this is very common, so even if you're not due for it I would throw some pads/tampons in your hospital bag just in case
  18. At three months post op I lost 51% excess weight and 65 pounds (starting 278.4)
  19. It's all relative because if you start at a higher weight you're bound to lose more, etc, but to answer your question, I lost 28 pounds in my first month.
