  1. Any good recipes for egg drop Soup? That sounds delicious! Of course, it would taste even better with a couple of egg rolls!

I still eat this quite frequently and add a scoop of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Unflavored Protein powder for extra Protein. It's cheap, easy and good. The sesame oil really does make it taste just that much better. :)

Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes Total Time: 15 minutes Ingredients:
    • 4 cups chicken broth or stock
    • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
    • 1 -2 green onions, minced
    • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
    • Salt to taste
    • A few drops of sesame oil (optional)
    Preparation:

In a wok or saucepan, bring the 4 cups of chicken broth to a boil. Add the white pepper and salt, and the sesame oil if using. Cook for about another minute.

Very slowly pour in the eggs in a steady stream. To make shreds, stir the egg rapidly in a clockwise direction for one minute. To make thin streams or ribbons, gently stir the eggs in a clockwise direction until they form.

Garnish with green onion and serve.

  2. Thanks so much for the encouragement. Kaiser gives you a lot in terms of info that you will need for surgery and aftercare, but my instructor isn't very good in terms of telling us how to diet now. She is also super against Protein shakes except for right after surgery. So when I tell her that I drink Protein Shakes in the morning other wise I will just skip breakfast,, she frowns on it, but I feel like it is better than eating nothing (or the energy drinks I used to have)

Thank You Blondie...Im may message you later. My sister had her surgery through Kaiser and didn't reach the 10% either, but she was at like 8% so at least she was close. I just don't want to go through all the classes and have them tell me come back when I've lost the weight.

They should have a registered dietician available to you while you're in the program. Ask about this at your next class.

If not, I'd be more than happy to share the information I was given through Kaiser.

  3. Please try not to worry yourself. I too went through the program at Kaiser (Southern California) and the 10% weight loss is what they'd like for you to lose. It will not disqualify you from the program. I was 3 pounds heavier at the end of the Options classes.

When I saw the surgeon he simply said he'd like for me to lose as much weight as possible between then and now. Of course YMMV...I had no underlying health issues other than being morbidly obese.

  4. You look fantastic RRn!

With all this talk about the Quest Cookies and Cream bar I decided to walk across the street to the Vitamin Shoppe. Guess what??? They were sold out of that flavor until their next shipment on Friday. I guess I'll have to wait until then. In the meantime, I purchased pb and j, chocolate brownie, cookie dough and apple pie. Thanks for all the suggestions included in this thread. :)

  5. Hi All:

I've subscribed to a fellow sleever's youtube series of videos and have enjoyed hearing from her and thought I would share her link with you all.

This link is from about week 21, but she has been posting since she had surgery.

Her youtube screen name is 1 Gorgeous Godzilla. She posts a new video almost every week. She has been through the ups and downs that we all talk about and has such a positive spirit that I thought that some of you might enjoy her videos too.

BTW I've been in a stall for almost two weeks now, didn't think it would upset me, but its starting to get me down. I know it will pass.... but I wish it would pass soon! I am eating what I am supposed to and I just wish my body would cooperate!

I started going to the gym this week. Swam laps for 20 mins. today - I'm sore!

    She's a member here. :)
