  1. I have news for you, while I certainly don't condone what you did none of us is perfect. I didn't mess up pre op but I'm having a hard time right now. It doesn't really matter what stage of this journey your in, if you fall off the hoarse the best thing to do is get back on and ride harder. It doesn't make you a failure. It's how you handle your mistakes that either makes or breaks you. Learn from it and don't do it again.
  2. A coffee cup warmer/plate thing. In the beginning I ate so slow things would become cold fast so it was great. I still use it everyday to keep my tea warm.
  3. Amazing! Good for you, what a terrific accomplishment. I'm so happy for you. If you've accomplished this much so soon imagine what the future will bring
  4. Could also be gas pain. Go for a walk
  5. Be careful with Smooth Move tea. That stuff can be harsh on a normal stomach... I'd be nervous about using it the sleeve
  6. The only "medicine" I know of for head hunger is to go for a walk.
  7. Walk more. Go for a 10 minute walk every hour even if it's just up and down the hallway
  8. 4-5 lbs a week in the beginning is AWESOME! Enjoy it now because that amount of rapid loss won't last. At 5 months out I'm thrilled to get one lb a week now which if it keeps up will put me at goal by the time I hit one year. How fast did you expect it to come off?
  9. A different take... some of my closest friends, when we've discussed it, have said that even though I've gone from a size 20 to a 12 that they just simply don't notice it. They certainly do if we look at pictures but the comment I hear over and over is that they just see me. Maybe your friend isn't being rude, maybe she just really loves you and doesn't care about what you look like and is just happy to be with you.
  10. As I'm getting closer to my final goal my loss is slowing and I overestimated by just a little on the last two challenges. I have 39lbs to my personal goal. SW for this challenge 179 lbs GW for Easter 174 Good luck to everyone, and thank you, Bea, for being a constant source of inspiration!
  11. I wasn't charged any extra fees... every situation is different. Check with your cc co and your surgeons office.
  12. I'm 5 months out and, while not as severe my sleeve is still noisy. .. It's the new normal
  13. What Blue Shield will pay for wls depends on your individual plan and, no, they do not cover breast lift... I wish!
  14. I have heard of this from a few others but it has never been a problem for me. However, I'm constipated most of the time
  15. Small milestone? SMALL!!! Are you kidding me? That's a HUGE milestone no matter how much you have to lose. You should be jumping with joy! I am so proud of you!!!
  16. My highest was a size 20, 3x.. I'm 5'5 ish and I'm now a size 12 @ 179 lbs. I would like to get to about 140 lbs which puts me at a size 7. I was a size 4 when I was 18-20 years old but everyone told me I was way to skinny for my body type. I looked great between a size 7 and a size 10. I have lost 71 pounds and I'd like to lose 30-39 lbs more.
  17. I was covered by surgeon for 3 months but I'm 5 months out
  18. Update... so I have been really pushing the water HARD this week, which is making it much harder to eat, but I'm getting in 9 glasses (72oz) approximately plus a protein drink. And instead of only going pee one in the am and once at night I have added one more in the afternoon. .. I know tmi... so, I guess the trick is to find balance. Fyi I started using a straw months ago and that dramatically increase my intake and I actually have less burping and gas using a straw. Thanks for your help everyone!
  19. Im 5 months out tomorrow and while it's not nearly as bad as it was in the beginning I'm not sure it ever fully goes away
  20. I drink poweraid zero and g2 but I cut them with water... about 1/4 pa zero or g2 to 3/4 water
  21. My surgeon cleared me to drive at 10 days
  22. Also, just because you can't feel the restriction yet doesn't mean it isn't there. Be careful eating so much and so quickly.
