  1. You're not alone. I did get rid of all of my really big stuff but I've been holding onto sizes 14 and under. It's not that I'm setting myself up to fail, it's more that I'm a realist and if I do slip up in the future I sure as hell don't want to have to shop for bigger clothes. I hope I never have to open the box.

  2. Ok, I'm gonna post an honest and, IMHO, awesome pic of me. I took pics 1/28, a day into my pre-surg diet....

    Surgery was 2/10.

I've taken several pics in the meantime... And I took some yesterday.

Anyway, I'm sharing because I have lost 1/3 of my excess weight. I am still really big... But I've changed a lot. :)

Posting those pics took guts. Your progress is absolutely incredible. You must feel terrific, I'm so happy for you!

  3. I am the same way... I can not drink plain Water & always have to add crystal lite to it & anything that is cold from the fridge & not room temperature bothers my stomach a lot so to avoid feeling uncomfortable I just stick with hot tea or room temp crystal lite water

I didn't want ro be adding sugar or artificial sweeteners all the time so I got flavored stevia drops. I like Sweet Leaf brand, I get them on Amazon about $10 a jar but you only need a drop or two so it lasts a really long time :)

  4. I'm on the other side of the fence. I've told everyone. Most people are supportive and curious. A small handful of people were not. I don't care. I have enjoyed educating people and every single person who was negative in the beginning has changed their toon now that they see how much more healthy and happy I am. If someone is negative I simply walk away or ignore it. It doesn't matter to me. I'm PROUD of my decision and thrilled with my results. This whole process makes me happy and it feels good to share it with people. .. even the jerks.

  5. During pre op I just couldn't handle it. I was lucky in that my family was so supportive. My teenage daughter took over cooking dinner for pre op and immediately post op. I stayed in the other room until everything was finished and cleaned up and put away. Things are long back to normal now and I have re-taken back the mom/wife roll... to which my daughter is thrilled!

  6. I'd tell him to suck it (or not), personally. He doesn't agree with surgery? Awesome! He shouldn't have it.

This is not about him, this is about YOU and your health. If he truly loves you, he will come around. If he doesn't, you deserve someone who will. :)

Haha! That totally made me lol... whenever my husband "reminds" me that he likes long hair I tell him he should stop getting his cut all the time then. You gotta do what's best for you!

  7. @@ElyQuint Your weight loss is going to be the subject of others around you whether you like it or not. You're not invisible and you're pretty too, so you are going to get attention. In fact the smaller you get the more you will get remarks, some very nice and some catty. Try not to allow others unhappiness become your own. I liked your response, which was no response. I think when you respond unkind you are soaking up negativity and trying to release it upon others. Negativity is like a cancer it will grow and kill happiness.

You're doing fine and this is a really good subject. :)

I agree... why bring yourself down to that level? Doesn't that put you in the same category? Personally I find, for the most part, I try to fight the "meanness" with sugar sweetness. That usually throws people off and leaves them sputtering.
