1. Hi, I'm 5 months out and I hit two major goals this week. I'm officially"overweight" and I hit the 65% goal my Dr. said he expected to be my total weight loss. 100% here I come!
2. I totally agree. I never thought I'd hate shopping but it's such a chore now because I don't even know where to start or what size i am. I'm excited about getting some dresses though... Now... I'm not even going to start on the nightmare of bra shopping! Lol

Thanks! Now if I could only stop the balding all will be well

2 awesome NSV'S!

Hey hey... not surprised at all! Just excited to hit those marks so early out! When I started this journey I was told most people lose about 65% of their excess weight. I was determined not to be like most people. Now, at only 5 months post op I can say I'm changing the odds. Nice!

Stalled and Terrified

That's the weight your body remembers and because it's emotional for you the stress doesn't help. It may take a little while for your body to lose this fight but just stick with your plan and your body will soon give up and you'll start losing again. I experienced lots of stalls in the beginning but they all broke eventually. At 7 weeks you're no where near done losing. Try not to stress out at every stall. Instead think of it as a gearing up for another rapid period of loss. Your body needs to re-group.
7. Thank you ladies so much! I can't wait to go dress shopping this weekend. .. I'll post some update pics when I do

Mood issues post weight loss

I totally get it. I know I'll feel better if I exercise but the depression won't let me. It's like iron bars holding me down. It's a circle and I don't know how to break free. Depression sucks.

October Sleevers - Who else

October rocks! I love how we are all keeping in touch! Sleeved 10/21, HW 250lbs, CW 179lbs... not as fast as some but I'll take 71lbs in 5 months any day! Here's a pic of my husband and me on vacation, me at about 250lbs and the next is me a couple weeks ago at about 183lbs

October Sleevers - Who else

Truly amazing. I am so sorry you are in pain. I'm also thrilled for you for your progress and that they were able to "fix" you! I'll continue to keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery. You're well on your way to becoming a great inspiration the likes of @[Rjs/Beginning].
11. Ahh thanks! No, not really, just thinking maybe I could wear something other than jeans or capris. I would just really like some cute summer dresses and I didn't know where to start. I'm really hard on myself and to be honest the last time I wore a dress I had a flat stomach. So far every dress I've tried on is like empire waist and I just can't help but feel even more fat. It's my stomach, I can hide it in jeans but summer dresses, not yet. I'm going to try some of the suggestions here though, thanks
12. Oh, awesome, I've never been there but we actually have one in my town. I always thought of it as a skinny woman place. .. keep forgetting I can shop anywhere now. I'm definitely going this weekend!
13. Super cute! Thank you so much for sharing, you look great. I just didn't even know where to start so this gives me some great ideas

Not Enough Weight Lost?

No pressure! Lol... I really don't understand that. I was a "slow loser" in the beginning then it caught up with me. Everyone's bodies react differently. As long as you're following your plan you will be successful.

Tortilla shells

I have all that stuff except the dressing with no problems. .. yum
16. Yeah, I tried that but I already know what they look like on models. ..
17. Thanks, I'll check it out
18. I'm a hairstylist and I took 2 weeks off. I only worked half days the following two weeks.

Vacation goal

I went on a cruise years ago, before I gained all my weight and I DID gain 5 lbs on that 5 day cruise! I'm so proud of you for keeping your self control and I bet it made your whole vacation even more enjoyable!

Weight Gain

I'm not far enough out to have reached goal yet, but I've seen it a thousand times before. .. 6lbs can torn into 20 lbs really easy! Get if off now BEFORE it becomes a major obstacle! 6 lbs isn't an insurmountable challenge but for me once it gets to 10 lbs it's just depressing. Good luck!

Would you do it again?

I'm not a vet but at 5 months out even if my weight loss stopped right now I would do it again in a second! As the previous poster said my only regret is not having done it sooner.
22. Thanks.. that's true... here's a recent pic of me... not the best but you'll get the idea

Week three

Wow, 6-8oz seems like a lot. Are you sure you read the timeline correctly? I understand all programs are different so no need to jump down my throat. .lol... but for ME I started with 1-2oz and at 5 months out still can't get down much more than about 3oz dense protein at one sitting.
24. Im posting this from a strictly guessing point of view. .. with the little information you've given it sounds like you have already lost the major of your weight with the band but due to problems you had to switch to the sleeve. Is it possible that because you only have a few more lbs to lose the sleeve is more of a maintenance tool for you instead of a weight loss tool? I don't know much about the band but I would imagine the restriction would be similar so with only 15 additional lbs to lose I don't think you'd want the sleeve to put you into weight loss overdrive. I'd think anyone that close to goal would really need to work it in order to reach goal. I think no matter the circumstances the last few lbs are always the hardest to lose. Anyway, just a thought...
25. I also think it's important to note that it is incredibly difficult to stick to this type of plan pre op but once you have surgery it's a total game changer. As far as; Is this forever or temporary? The whole reason for having surgery is to make permanent changes so the rules are, for the most part, permanent. The way you think about food and the relationship you have with food changes dramatically after surgery. If you really take advantage of the "rules" in the first few months post op it sets you up to successfully follow them for life. Good luck!
