This looks tasty, and I'm happy to see something that looks like a pre-sleeve Breakfast. Well, in composition, if not in size! I'll have to jump in my little red convertible Spyder for a trip to the grocery store. (See what I did there? )

So, I consider myself fairly tolerant of stupid people (or I mask it well), but...

You guys crack me up. -
Honest opinion please!

I really like the Syntrax Iced Tea as it's not too sweet. I tried the sample pack as well, which was a good idea. -
Hey sweetie - sorry to hear you're suffering. I have chronic back pain and was depressed when it came surging back after 6 or so weeks of freedom. It sucks. I hope you're feeling better today and just for you I'll have another bite of my husband's palmier pastry.

I started pureed foods last night at week 4. The half cup of Fage went down well. Today's scrambled egg with 1/4 c of cottage cheese is sitting like a lead sinker. I got about half through and my nose started to run (my signal to stop) and I thought oh come on, surely more should fit. So I ate a bit more. Idjit. At least the dog got the last few bites, so *she's* happy! You'd think by age 50 that having to learn things the hard way wouldn't be necessary any more. But nooooo. Anyone having similar issues? After ten months...freedom!

Six weeks postop, leaving on Saturday for two weeks in Paris, and I have a cold. WAH. I never get sick. I wanted to lose weight, not my immune system. WAH. I have too many freaking errands to run today and tomorrow to be still laying in bed at noon. I need a pedicure, for god's sakes! :-) And some mushy food for the plane. And laundry. And innersoles. And, oh yeah, to pack! My sainted husband ran out to super supplements last night at 8:30 for some hippy natural pills that a friend recommended ... the directions call for taking six capsules every 3-4 hours. If I choke on them say nice things about me, would you? Lisa

Ooo, Airborne, yes! Thanks for the reminder. Tomorrow I drop the dog at the sitter's, have my 6-week checkin at the surgeon's, get a haircut ... Dude I do not have time to be sick! :-) Yet so far all I've managed today is a load of laundry. The multi-item to-do list is looking daunting. Wonder if they have Starkist tuna and cheap pedis in Paris ...

What did you eat for breakfast on pureed
Sleeved in Seattle replied to kim2002's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm eating a 1/2 cup of Fage 0% yogurt with 2 scoops of Syntrax unflavored Protein powder, a tsp. or two of unsweetened soy milk and a bit of Equal to give it all a bit of sweetness. (Not looking forward to getting my sweet tooth back!) -
What role does the Scale play in your life?
Sleeved in Seattle replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your son has a brain and he uses it - awesome parenting job! I do let the scale have some control over how successful I'm feeling, but I know that I'm trending down, even if sometimes it's slower than I prefer. I think the daily weighing is a habit more than anything else, and we've given up so many habits that were bad for us in this sleeve journey, why not give up one more for a week? As the wise child said, it's not like you can eat less if the scale gives you news you don't like. Lisa -
I've lost weight and now my pants are too......LONG?!?
Sleeved in Seattle replied to Yaya's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Terrible, isn't it? I'm grateful I'm only shrinking in width not height! (At 5-4-ish I refuse to admit/look/be any shorter ) -

Allergic reaction to surgical glue!
Sleeved in Seattle replied to Oak Park Lorena's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
There's a few threads on this allergy here, but short answer is to get yourself a prescription for triamcinolone acetonide cream. I had hives from the tape all over my back, sides and stomach, that I'm still battling the remains of - and I'm 5 weeks out. They will make you insane and really, there are so many other things to make you crazy right after surgery. :-) -
Shakes ahead of time?
Sleeved in Seattle replied to jillian109's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My surgeon told me a lot of proteins will breakdown if they sit, prepared, too long. But sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do! -
This looks tasty and something that would work for sleevers as well as regular eaters. :-) Thanks Tap - can't wait for your other recipes. Lisa

American in Paris

Merci beaucoup Jodi! Where did you buy Protein powder in Paris? I'd love not to carry have to multiple homemade packets of mysterious white powder in my luggage. Lisa -
American in Paris
Sleeved in Seattle replied to chicadarina's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know this topic is an older one, but I'm leaving for a few weeks in Paris next week and I'll still be on "mushy" food at that point. So I'm a bit concerned about living on no bread, no wine, just eggs/cheese. What did you guys eat at the beginning of your post-surgical times? TIA, Lisa -
Unconscious Bias Testing...Very Interesting!
Sleeved in Seattle replied to stacechase's topic in The Lounge
Women! :-) Certainly this woman did not. -
Looking for some group thoughts since it's the weekend and surgeon's office is closed. I took omeprazole twice a day for 4 weeks post surgery, finishing up two days ago. Since then I've noticed more gurgly, acidy feelings. Of course I also transitioned to pureed food, which could be muddying the issue. But I'm feeling nauseous too. Would it hurt to take one pill a day, you think? Just to make a gradual transition to full acid production ... What are others doing? I've never taken the stuff before so don't have a good idea of normal results with it. TIA! Lisa

Interestingly enough one of the side effects of PPIs is increased chances for hip fractures. I'm on calcium citrate too, but with a Mom who has had multiple fractures due to osteoporosis and a sister who has very bad osteopenia (she had to give herself shots - ugh!), it does give me pause. Even if osteoporosis is *not* supposed to be hereditary. (Bah, I say. ) Isn't the lack of a single post-op protocol for this surgery just so weird?!

Husband got tickets to the Mariners game tonight. I said I'd go. And now it's 7:00 and he just left without me because my f'ing stomach is nauseous and I feel crappy and I'd rather not risk bowel excitement at a baseball game with all his new coworkers. I have had no social life this summer, I miss doing fun things (hell, anything!) with my husband and we're leaving in 2 weeks for long-planned 2 weeks in France. I'm afraid I'm going to ruin the trip because I can't eat, can't drink and can't seem to stay feeling good for more than a few hours at a time. I am really really hating my sleeve right now. I know I know this too shall pass but I'm so miserable and pissed off and tired of staying home and ruining any occasion to do something interesting. That's my rant. Gonna go take some more anti-nausea meds and see if they'll knock me out.
-
Thanks ladies. I've got my pouty face on tonight. Probably just as well I'm home alone AGAIN. And from your lips to my sleeve: it better get exponentially better or I'll stamp my feet and really rant and rave come Sept. 7!

A completely unnecessary bit of whining
Sleeved in Seattle replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Noooo! It's me! I'm in one of those hate-everything stages of sleevedom. But thank god I don't have to cook for anyone; hats off to you, lady! -

That sucks! I think there's something whiny in the air tonight. :-)
