Vitamins and protein :(
The only Protein drink I can stomach is Premier Protein (30g) ready made shakes, unjury chicken Soup and Adkins Protein Bars (15-17g). I like dannon "lite and fit" vanilla Greek yogurt (12g) or Oikos vanilla Greek yogurt (12g), cottage cheese (12-14g). In regards to vitamins: "Vitafusion Gummies". I take their Multivitamin, Calcium, Vitamin C and Fiber every night. They taste really good. I hope this helps you. Good luck

Surgery date! But scared to death
Congratulations! I was scared also, and it is normal to feel that way. This was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I am well on my way to a healthier and better life. As you will have read on the forum; lots, lots and lots of walking to help relieve the gas (did I mention lots of walking? ). You wont need much at the hospital: PJ bottoms, toiletries, chapstick, gas-X strips and not much else...so don't over pack. Everyone recovers differently. The beginning of the journey can be a little rough on the emotions and dealing with the head hunger. But this too shall pass. Take your time and get lots of rest, remember you will be healing from major surgery. Try not to over do it. This isn't a race..it is a lifelong journey to a better you. Good luck.

OK....how did you know.....
Scrambled eggs with very small pieces of bacon. Tasted like heaven the first time...not so much the second time. It lasted less than 10 minutes before making its reappearance. I felt horrible for hours afterwards. I'm at 5 months and too scared to try them again. The only other issues I have had were from to much of a good thing. Then I spend the next couple of hours regretting eating that last little bit of food. I have learned to not take that last bite of anything. I still prefer yogurt, cottage cheese and Soups.

How often do you weigh?
I weigh daily, however, It only counts on Mondays. I like the accountability. I do not stress if the number does not move on the scale. I know my body is adjusting to the weight loss and it will start moving when its ready.

- No issues or complications!
I did not have complications from my surgery and was able to take large swallows without any problems. However, I would suggest you slow down a little. You are newly sleeved and your body needs time to heal. Follow your doctors plan. As for the restrictions...you will start to feel the sleeve when you start eating solid foods.- Updates from former Dr. Garcia & Dr. Illan patients?
I was sleeved by Dr. Garcia on 8/06/13. I love Dr. Garcia and his team, they are awesome. I went by myself and the surgery went well with no complications. I was a type II diabetic with asthma. They took great care of me. In fact, I received better care with them then when I had my hysterectomy in the States. So far I have lost 81lbs. I have no regrets and look forward to reaching my goal weight. Good luck to you on your journey.- Hot Tub
Patience...grasshopper...good things come to those that wait. Remember that this is a journey.- Hot Tub
I would wait. Even though you look healed, there might be microscopic openings on your incisions. You do not want to take the chance of bacteria getting into the wound and causing an infection. It is better to be safe then sorry.- ANYONE?
There will be others having surgery at the same time. Make friends with those on your hospital floor and at the Marriott. They will help you through your surgery. In addition, we are here to help you as well. I had surgery with Dr. Garcia too. However, I was at florence hospital. I did stay at the Marriott as well. It is very nice and the people are very friendly. On a side note....DO NOT eat the provided popsicles. They are horrid!!!!! Go down to the store in the lobby and buy the popsicles it is worth the money. Good luck on your journey.- anybody with diagnosed hypothyroidism?
I was diagnosed 7 years ago. I had my sleeve on 8/6/13. So far I have lost 80 lbs so far. My medication had to be lowered a bit but other than that I have not had any issues. Good luck to you.- Valentine's Challenge
Current Weight: 219 Goal weight: 209- Christmas - New Year Challenge
Goal weight was 220 Today's weight 219 I surpassed my goal by 1 lb Thanks Bea for providing the challenges and for all your hard work.- constant bubbling
Yes, it can be annoying. However, it does go away eventually. I am 4.5 months out and I don't notice it anymore.- numbness
Better to be safe then sorry. Even if someone else has experienced something similar, it is not the same. Call your doctor. Only he/she can give you the medical advise you might need and relieve your fears.- I am a December Sleever - a Newbie!
FIrst, you haven't been sleeved that long. Give your body a chace to heal before you start wigging out over how much weight you are "supposed" to lose. Your body is going through major changes and it is going to need time to accomodate these changes. I would not call where your at a stall, more likely an adjustment period. The important this is to make sure you are getting enough Protein and Water. How much are you getting of both? They will help with the hunger. I love Premier Protien drinks from costco in both the chocolate and vanilla. They have 30 grams of protien per serving. Second, everyone loses weight differently. Some fast, some slow. Try not to compare yourself to others on this forum, again, everyone is different. A thought to remember, when we are not losing on "the scale" we are losing inches. You have lost 15 lbs in less than 2 weeks, that is awesome. Try not to focus on the # on the scale and focus on living the journey to a healthier new you. Be patient! You will succeed. Good luck.- numbness
I have not experienced this myself. I would check with your surgeon, Especially, since you are newly sleeved. Good luck on your journey and keep us informed on your situation.- 10 Weeks post-op
Great job! Both you and your spouse look great.- Weight loss question...
Yes. I went from a size 9 ring to 7 1/4 and I am not near my goal weight. My wrist measurement went from a 8 to a 6 3/4. I look forward to resizing all my jewelery when I do reach goal.- Christmas - New Year Challenge
