Congratulations on your new journey! I'm still adjusting. You will do great. Everyone's recovery is different, but you'll do great. Try to do all your cleaning and shopping prior to surgery. The simplest things for me are exhausting right now (I.e. walking the dog).

I was scared too.. It is normal to feel that way. Keep your body and mind busy in the meantime. Ps I did ask for a relaxer when I got to the hospital since my doctor was delayed for 2 hours with my surgery. :)

Congratulations! I was scared also, and it is normal to feel that way. This was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I am well on my way to a healthier and better life.

As you will have read on the forum; lots, lots and lots of walking to help relieve the gas (did I mention lots of walking? ;) ). You wont need much at the hospital: PJ bottoms, toiletries, chapstick, gas-X strips and not much else...so don't over pack.

Everyone recovers differently. The beginning of the journey can be a little rough on the emotions and dealing with the head hunger. But this too shall pass. Take your time and get lots of rest, remember you will be healing from major surgery. Try not to over do it. This isn't a race..it is a lifelong journey to a better you.

Good luck. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
